You can put them all in one post but must put each Shutterfly properties between the img within the [ ] and [/img]. [I could not keep the [ ] around the img or it would try to act as if I were posting a picture]

Evening all!

Busy day to day. Barely time top check in.

Weather forecasters blew it again. We got a few minutes of light rain this morning. So we are struggling again for rain.

Going to fix dinner.

Have a great evening all!

Hello all in the POT[:D]
been a GREAT week so far.
lots of work done and a few hundres ties installed.
not bad for a bunch of misfits and old worn out equipment.
Working on the famed Dry Fork Branch of the former N&W around MP I-19.
I took a excursion across the Dry Fork back in 1994 with the 611.
very nice trip. good thing i did cause it was its last trip across there.
since that time many millions of tons of black diamonds have crossed the many tressel's
and through the tunnels. still some things have not changed Boss Hogg is still in control
of the section over that way, still there is a Barker working there although i cant tell which
one he is cause their Twins and both look alike[xx(].
back a while back some asked why i called MTH the American Flyers of the 21st century,
ill explain myself. American Flyers made some of the most beautiful(for there time) trains.
they ran great and looked even better. but for some reason or another they would (at least the ones i had)quit. most likely reason the wire between the tender and loco. MTH rail kings
do the same thing. and with the boards going bad (like in my UP big boy).they become really
very impressive static models.[xx(][xx(].
so after a period of time more and likely every MTH RK loco i have will wind up on the shelf
as a show piece. like Stan Roy said on a TM video, "If I wanted to look at them I would collect art". so in my case no piacasso MTH Rail King Trains> i have 75 of them.
Looking forward to the week's end hopefully shortly.
a good day to all.
CSXT-30 got any GRITS[}:)].

Back from the banks of the Wabash River. Tired. I fly out tomorrow for Milburn, NJ. To my delight yesterday I ran into a childhood friend. I used to go to his house and run the Lionel train. We talked for 2 1/2 hours about anything and everything including playing hockey, riding horses, Boy Scouts, guns, classmates, teachers and our kids. A great time! BTW, he and I both have our orginal Lionel trains.[:)]

Evening everyone,

It's amazing how fast the time goes by. I have not taken the time to read the posts for a little while because work has been so busy. Even the weekends have been full doing some youth ministry work. I hope everyone here is doing fine. The weather here has turned to spring this week. We almost got to 60 today and the next 2 days should be about the same. Any bad weather we get now won't last long. It is amazing how people get better attitudes this time of year.

I put a posting up earlier about what cars could be included in a passenger train. Maybe some of you may have an answer.

I am going to get back to watching "Lost" now. Any of you watch it?

Good night.

Took a little while to read up on the posts one last time before bed. Hope y'all have a good one. Started the day great, Kim made some biscuits and sausage gravy. Got to work out and then spend lots of time with the family. Went to WalMart tonight. They are remodelling it and boy is it a mess. I did see that the Cheap toys boxes (red box) has a set of 8 modern cars(except a VW bus), for under $10.00. If you are looking for modern cars, this might be your game. Also, they had a remote control 1/43rd model of a early 50s mercury chopped down. IT looks cool, I had purchased one some time ago, but now they have them on sale for about $6.00.
Anyway, have a good night.
Dennis.

PS. Buckeye, Milburn has a train store that advertises in CTT. Never been there, but it is a nice town, so if you are walking around, you may want to check it out. Also, my favorite store, The Train-Station is not all that far away, just up 287. You can get the map to the store from the web site if you are interested. Lots and Lots of stuff. They even have one of the original Lionel gondola store displays.

Like MTH steam but their diesel sounds are terrible compared to Railsounds. The horns don't sound real either. Everything else is OK.

c50, thanks for the site.

Was talking to another club member tonite and he gave me a link to a site for making some trees. Looks way cool (spruce, cedar, etc.). Take a look and see what you think.

DaGrump,
Thanks for the heads up on the site for tree making. Seems I need to give it a try. I like the pine tree look; there happen to be a couple here and there in the northwest.

Not so fast there Chiefie, When Don wrote that the architect had a structural engineer assisting him in the drawings and the project is in Southern California the first word that popped into my mind was EARTHQUAKE.

When you see that word, everything changes. Structural reviews by a city take more than just a minimum wage intern to the engineering assistant to the assistant engineer for a review. If the area is growing there could also be many plans to review. NC and Ohio both have provisions in our building codes for earthquake loading, but other loading , i..e., snow and wind normally will be the deciding factor for structural design.

Now, if Don is hanging a full size locomotive from his ceiling, all bets are off. [:D]

I got my Lionel Santa Fe FT B unit last night. It was waiting for me when I got home. Very nicely detailed. I was pleasantly surprised. I got it from Grzyboski's. Excellent service and fast delivery. I was very impressed.

Sorry to hear the Chief is so down on us Yankees lately. [V] Maybe I'll send him a Boston and Maine caboose to kick.

Well today's my 29th birthday. Nothing too special about it. May fix myself a birthday cake if im up to it today. Temps today supposed to be in the upper 50's today, so could make for some nice weather. Also have another job interview today, hope something comes out of that as well. Other than that nothing much else going on.

Btw, I had grits for dinner last night with sausage and toast. Pretty good meal for dinner.

Enjoy yourself. Treat yourself to dinner at a nice place. Buy a nice piece of rolling stock. You're only going to be 29 once.

Good morning all,

It is sunny with the temps heading to the 60s in SE Indiana. Buckeye, glad to hear you enjoyed your visit to God's country (Indiana). We welcome all "exiles" :-) We take anybody, even Roseyville residents and Pennsylvania soccer players :-) Watched "Lost" last night. It is really getting interesting. Finally got my May CTT. I liked the article on the New England layout. That took a lot of work. I also enjoyed the four generation layout as well. I hope some one in my family picks up the train "bug". I may get to do a little soccer tonight if circumstances permit. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good Morning All from NE Ohio

where the temp is 41 and going up to 68 with Blue Clear Skies

Buckeye – some of those southern boys just don’t understand good engineering practices !

Chris – Happy Birthday and good luck on the job hunt.

Chief is gone for the Weekend ! ! ! !!

Chief – remember that trains sounds are just noise to 99 % of people. You must have a tin ear ! ! My MTH sounds just like the ones that go by on the main line ( which is only ¼ from my house).

Next OTTS meeting Friday, April 14 Note date change
