When I create the town of Mayberry on my layout, I want a few scenes like this one, with Barney taking Otis in to sleep it off.

Wait a minute! What?

Hey Barney! That's not Otis!! [:O][:O][:O]

In the past they used pigs blood. I don't mind the protests. I served my country (still serving) so people can have that right!

FJ and G Did you know that (at least the larger ones) cockroaches when cook are very similar in taste and texture to lobster? I found this out when watching a documentary on an expedition to a South American rain forest. The team was gathering specimans to bring back for study when their stay was extended unexpectedly.......running low on food they decided to grill some of the big meaty roaches. When tehy peeled the charred exoskeleton away.....it even kind of looked like cooked lobster, and the guys said it tasted like it. I'll bet they wi***hey could find they rain forest equivalent of drawn butter! [:p]
Snow yesterday morning in NW Ohio......going to be up to 47 and sunny today. Headed up to Detroit right now, going to check out some industrial trackage while I'm there.

Have a good day!

You and me too, David. Only real problem I have with it is throwing blood on relatively innocent bystanders. Seems like an assault or battery to me.

Just stopped by and got caught up in the conversation going on about protestors and blood throwing .......

Well, I served my country in the U.S. Coast Guard for 32 years of active duty and it certainly was NOT to protect the "rights" of people willingly and knowingly breaking the laws of OUR country, states or municipalities.

During the Vietnam era of riots and protests in New York City, there was a creep running around screeching and screeming about baby killers - I was in uniform (Chief Petty Officer in those days) - he got in my face and wound up with a broken nose. The NYC PD got me the heck out of there and not a word was ever reported to my command.

That's why I served our country to hopefully maintain civility for those of us who give a hoot about what made this country what it is AND to let the so called "dissenters" know that there is a fine line between dissent and down right intimidation. The latter doesn't get it .......

Sorry - guess this stuff still gets to me.

I'm going back to my trainroom! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Afternoon All !
Taking a break for a little while, my hands are tired of holding a paint brush. I keep telling my wife, I'm either going to go back to work or file for union representation, she's got me workin my butt off.
Three cheers for siberianmo. [tup] [tup] [tup] Even to this day if someone wants to get in my face I'd do the same.
Roger, If you ever go back up to the Rockies in the fall try checking out Grand Lake instead Estes Park. It is the western entrance to the park, to me that is the best time of the year. The Aspen trees changing and all the elk.

Turbo Tim, thanks for putting Easter on the calendar. Even Christmas is now the "holiday" season in our schools. I agree on giving thanks to those who serve and served. Uncle Sam called me in 68 thru 69 and interrupted my life. Must say it did me good and harm. Did not do like two cousins and refused to go. Maybe I should have too. One is a sucessful lawyer and the other retired as a manager with the Federal Gov't [yes the gov't]. Oh well. I guess Trevor is doing great. Now that the Ohio Yankees seem to have lost this year's war, I just emptied the three big containers of gasoline I had stored for the generator. I waited unitl I had about emptied the pickup and now it is full. Hey, gas was about $1.70 then. Now it is $2.00. A little stabilizer will clean the fuel injectors. Visited with Mom [88] and liked to have melted. Notice how old folks keep their homes so warm [right Jimbo? [;)]]. Might rain again tomorrow. Yikes!!!! Got to get the garden disked and rows and beds made so I can plant some plants in the garden. Big container of collards for dinner. Brought them from the restaurant near Mom's. [:D] Later

Golfing sounds pretty good about now. I am a former golfer , but I quit playing because I kept getting my balls hung up in the windmill on the last hole.

Good Morning All,

NE Ohio has rain on the way with temp at 34, hum, it maybe some snow then there.

Scratch – even at 98” of record snow in Cleveland, after 25 years in heavy snow belt area with 150 to 200”, this is a snap. You got to love what Lake Eire provides for us. It just the other drivers that give me problems.

Buckeye – It’s great to have you back, it’s been hard controlling the Chief.

Steve – I am glad that you pointed that out to Chief.

We have the day off, so Spanky and I are going to be running some trains today

all be safe

Good morning and a blessed Good Friday to all!

Off today, so I was able to enjoy drinking coffee on the back porch watching the sun come up over the trees. Two hawks were circling in the sky. No deer or turkey sightings this AM, but a beautiful day! Neighbors have seen silver fox and coyotes out here too. I haven't seen any coyotes but did see a fox a couple of weeks ago. No turkey sightings, although I did see the mayor this week . . .
Just kidding! The mayor's a great guy.

Morning All. Dr. John, our Mayor is a turkey. She sleeps through meetings and we have to tell her every move to make during Town Board meeting. Folks are really getting upset with her inability. Sad thing is, she does not reealize how bad she comes across. Bad cough is back. Too much train smoke I think. Did I read that someone is back? Who? From where? [;)] Had not missed anyone. [:)] Have a great day and God bless all.

Morning all, it's flurrying a bit today - but due to finally get warm next week - so much for putting up the kid's trampoline today. Off to get ready to color Easter eggs. Hope to cajole a few youngsters into helping me glue together my Plasticville barn from Christmas.

morning you ins.

Last night was another day in VRE’s gallery cars, originally from the CNW dating from the 1950s.

You can see why they are called “gallery,” as there is a “gallery” view from the 2nd level. These types of cars are great for girl watching. Most riders, however, are seniors.

Morning all!

Welcome back Buckeye! Glad you had a good trip. I walked across the Golden Gate a few years back. As you said, it is very cool (and also dangerously windy). Did you get to go to the Cable Car Drive House museum?

A little cooler today and sunny. High 60's.

My Webelos scouts attended their last Cub Scout Pack meeting last night. April 5th, they become Boy Scouts.

Spanky and Dave - good photos!

Have a great day all!

A sunny 68 at 11 am today. Just finished sharpening the lawn tractor and mower blades, might get through this year with the set on the tractor, and got the weed wacker running, think I'll need to drop it off for an overhaul, can't get at the fuel filter and needs a new fuel hose.

In betweenI finished plugging the coin slot on the Ertl semi and sprayed some paint on it. Should have the big rig on the layout's highway this afternoon. Now if he'll only reduce the price on the Burlington semi that's been on the shelve for quite a while.[sigh]

Thanks, Roy,

Was visiting my friends on MR forum and a dude named 8500HPGASTURBINE had this to say:

"I was looking at paint in one of the asiles and a guy was looking at the same paint right beside me. He had a little boy around 6 or maybe 7 standing to his left. The boy reached up to touch a small bottle and the dad punched him in the chest so hard the boy almost fell over. The small kid knew I saw it and looked up at me. He didn't want to cry right there so he ran around the corner and hid while he cried. I blew up right there. I told him the next time he wanted to punch someone he could punch me. He told me mind my own f***en business. I grabed him by the throat and pushed him towards the door to get him outside. He fell back and left. The next thing I knew the cops were there to arrest me for assult. They did absolutely nothing to him for what he did. I know I will get a summons to appear in court, I got sighted at the scene. My wife says I should have stayed out ot of. I THINK NOT."
