Notice the book isn't titled, How the Eagles from NC saved civilization.

Now where's my beer.

Tom, turn up the snow making machine for NC.

Alas no green beer today, but did have some green tea. NOT sweet tea, I wish, but green tea, good for what ails ya.

'Mornin' all.

A brisk 32 here this morning, don't know if I'll go out and pick up the brush I cut last week, grounds still soggy from the last couple of days. Instead I might do some yard work at the ELM Ry yard.

Happy Day-After-St. Patrick's Day to ye all.

Laz, the river turned green again this year - some city guys go out in a little boat and putt-putt down the river and dump this sort of granular dye into the water - it spreads out behind until the whole thing turns green, since the river flow is pretty slow - it takes a few hours to dissipate. Overcast, 40s. Another beautiful Chicago spring. Buckeye, you sure was a cute little bug. Looks like a lab with you too. Roger, great picture - it looks like it is N scale.

Morning gang. Who is holding Buckeye in the picture? [that is not a pup, that is Buckeye] That dye stuff is unbelievable. The pond guys want me to dye my pond in the woods to darken it. They are now dying all the ponds they manage. Does not hurt the fish and works great. Pretty blue water. A gallon will do about a two acre pond. Sun is out and it is warming. Now if it will just dry out. Good talking to Tom and Keith last night. Excited about Tom's upcoming "caper". Hope your Friday goes well for all and weekend too. Jon and I have been on weekend all week. [:D] Now Dr. John stays on weekend all week except for weekends [I'll bet]. [;)] Instructors like Doug M and Laz just walk around the room and make others work. [}:)] God bless all.

Some nice Q trains there.

So far disappointed w/Solder Weld. When I heat it up it turns to mush and doesn't hold anything together. Waste of $5!

This just in.....post St Pat's day news...

Apparently Buckeye had a little too much to drink and was driving
home from town last night and, of course, his car is weaving
violently all over the road. A cop pulls him over. "So," says the
Cop to Buckeye, "where have ya been?"

"Why, I've been to the pub of course," slurs Buckeye.

"Well," says the cop, "it looks like you've had quite a
few to drink this evening."

"I did all right," Buckeye says with a smile.

"Did you know," says the cop, standing straight and
folding his arms across his chest, "that a few intersections back,
your wife fell out of your car?"

"Oh, thank heavens," sighs Buckeye. "For a few minutes
there, I thought I'd gone deaf."

Happy day AFTER St Pat's day!
Roy

(This is not my 2026, just a example picture)

Me and Dr. FuManchu traded locos. I traded my 4-4-2 and some realtrax for a beutiful 2026. Got the steamer and tender today! It was very well packaged! Before it came I bought a smoke conversion kit, and "power" brushes(ones with braided copper wire on the ends). I took the whole loco apart to put the conversion kit in. I got too the smoke unit lining, MAN, was it hard to get off! All the lining and condensed sp residue mad a huge mess to take out. I took a lighter and melted the residue out, and then th lining came off easily. I did install the kit today, and you guys should see how much IT SMOKES.

The commutator had the usuall grease gum on it, though with this one there was alot of it. Took TV tuner cleaner to it and mopped it till clean. Then I installedt the "power" brushes. Now the 2026 can climb grades well now. I bet the commutator cleaning had to do mostly with that.

It has been only a few hours and Ireally like these postwar steamers.

Jerry,

That locomotive has a lot of character!

I'm busy not reweathering my rails, didn't like the previous color.

Finished running BB the beagle thru the woods. She scented a rabbit and also went thru some swamp. Smells like a swamp entered the house too!

David, wonder what BB says about the way you smell???? [;)] Looks good Jerry. I replaced one smoke unit on an old Pensy Turbine. It was "glued" so bad, I could not get the top off. New one works great. Yesterday, took the smoke unit out of the 2055 and and completely cleaned it and made sure the hole was open. A few drops of Mega and she puffed away.
