Hi Gang,
Been installing bullet resistant glass and burglar bars at the cop shop. Man that glass is expensive. A window 24"x 36" cost 1300.00 plus shipping. Really glad this job is cost plus. Could buy a lot of trains with 1300.00, but none of them would stop a bullet.
Got 4" of IDAsnow last night and today. Messy but we need the moisture.

Roy...I locked my daughter in a closet from age 13-15 , at which time she became human again.

Don't yall just love Duda's post on the LED

Doug... Thanks for the heads up on the Lewiston O gauge club. Wish it was closer.

Later............Tim

Argh - PETim - I have another year to go (she turns 14 in June)! I can only hope.

God bless the teachers that put up with them every day. [angel]

Jerry - That's great. You are doing what many of us did years ago. Things like Lionel trains taught us that we could take things apart, clean, lubricate, and reassemble them. We learned about electricity, mechanics, organization, using tools, etc. Lionel trains were so rugged that there was little a young person could do to it that could not be easily fixed (and look at the old parts lists - most parts were under $1.00 which was not hard to afford 40 years ago. Yet the precision of a Lionel train was about the same as your car, bike, toaster, etc. So we all learned great skills that we carry with us today.

It is too bad that few toys for kids achieve the same level of skills. You can do very interesting things with Legos, but no electrical, mechanical, or tools skills are being developed like one can do with an Erector or train set.

Regards,
Roy

Hello All: Been away from things the last few day's. I see the war is still going strong with heavy cannon fire in both directions, to soon to declare a weekly winner. Glad to see everyone in a green mood yesterday. Chief WE were at the National Sortsmanshow in Toronto yesterday, I cannot get over the amt. of dollars people will spend to catch a fish, or hunt an animal. My C.N. ABA set I purchased on ebay showed up today & they are sweet to look at, going to have to set up temporay on the floor to try them out. I have been invited to help set up a new train club in town, there second meeting is on Monday, I think these guys are more into H.O. but maybe that will be a nice change of pace, or I can try & convert them. Dave: I know what you mean about dog's, our's likes to chase skunk's. Thank's to all for the Pic's they are a pleasure to view. Hope Everyone has a great weekend, Drive safely to & from the shows, Kind Regards to all Steve

Well good evening all, hope everyone is doing well.

Doug, us SoCals can talk, ok we can type. [:)] So many questions, and so many great people to teach me more about trains. Should be getting a HO cab forward this weekend, so steam, here I come.

Starting to sprinkle, Chief you sent the rain. See if I send any more CA sun to you. Actually I have a friend traveling to Virginia Beach, figure thats close, so she is bringing sunshine with her.

Tom this should be a great photo weekend. Can't wait.

PE Tim, what a price for glass. But at least they will be safe. Worth every dime. Can't help think that that would pay for O gauge cab forward. Hmmmmm a sign perhaps.

Roy, how are things in Texas, hopefully drying out. Good luck with your girl, mine is nine going on 19 it seems. At least she likes to buld train buildings.

Gotta get ready for an appointment, come on appointment, Daddy needs a new train.

Good early morning to all,

Woo Hoo had to get up at 4:30 but I get to buy the next round. Smoothies, coffee, or drinks on the Turbo. And its the 4700th post to the coffee shop. Did we already start taking dates for number 5000? If not I pick April 2

set the heater too hot and can't sleep so at 4:35 I am on hear saying hellooooooo. Big echo in hear at this time. [:)][:)]

Getting a Cab forward this weekend, and after the honey dos might have time to run it. Can't wait Its HO and has a VCR motor inside, so it can move. Still wondering when the cab forward will come out from Lionel.

Have fun at your train shows, would know what that was like. [banghead]

Gun shows we got, he in the gun prevention state of the US. We do have guns. So do the bad guys. Did anyone see the show on the two LA guys that robbed the bank and wore bullet proof suits and had a shoot out with the cops. WOW. Forgot all about that till it replayed on the history channel.

Raining, hoping no floods this time, and no more slides.

Take care, hope everyone is doing well.

Reg hump yards, I ran my rolling stock on 2.25% slope and all free roll. I think the hump yard would be prettyneat idea; problem would be getting the couplers to couple at slow rate of speed!!!!!!!!!!!

Roy,I like that story serial website too - someone knows their Pennsy. Brickyard, Crystal Lake is right next to Carpentersville and about 20 minutes north of Elgin - it used to be the junction for the C&NW line up from there ... Warm and cloudy - I mean 40ish which is warm. Off to try to talk the wife out of joyriding with gas almost $2.50 a gallon.

Dragging today. Can not seem to wake up. Watched fishing shows this AM [well, parts of them betweeen snoozes]. Got to get outside. Partly cloudy and warm. Maybe that will get the "blood flowing". TTim, trying to cut the water flow off for you. Time you had lots of sun. I really think it is the fault of the Yankee groundhog. Laz, I will be coming to Harrisburg the week after York [I think that is right]. Wish BPS had scheduled the same date. Think I'll be in Nashville on the York date. I joined several months ago but just added it to the signature. Miss Edna got me to join. Outside I go. God bless all.

nice day today, just got back from 2nd walk; this time to talk to a lady picking up dog pies in her yard on my street. As we were talking a bullet clipped off a nearby branch and scared the S*** out of us, esp her. They are out shoot in the woods less than a mile away and must have been a stray round. The richochet came pretty close to us. I think I heard her muttering something about reporting it. I didn't give it too much thought as freek stray rounds like that can happen sort of like a lightning strike.

WEll, back to the layout I go where it's a bit safer.

Back from the Train Show. I was really good, only bought a new cornerstone station, which replaces the Rico station that I sold to John, csxt30.

Let's see, at the show was:
John, csxt30
His friend Ed (I forget his sign in name)
Keith
Rich H.
several forum members from the OGR forum that I know.

We had a great time and several are coming over tonight for OTTS.

cnw1995 & underworld, on the way home from work this afternoon I passed a station with reg. at $1.92 and another at $1.95. Most are $2 to $2.05.

I guess we can soon expect the cost of our hobby to start climbing since most products are petrolium based, use energy to manufacture, require transportation, and higher overhead for dealers. OPEC wants to rule the world.

BTW - Gas in Cleveland area is $2.15 or so. Remember some of the differance in different states is state gas taxes.
