I like the cold better than the hot summer heat which is coming in about another month. My trees are not growing fast enough to provide shade, as whole neighborhood is but 3 years old.

Except for a guy on the end of the street whose trees are growing like Jack n beanstalk.

He said he packs the roots with either NutriGreen or Chesapeake blue.

Has anyone tried this or do you have any tree growing remedies?

Morning. Getting ready to drive up to Hampton VA BPS. Will be back Sunday [Buckeye, better watch out for computer at hotel [;)]] Will not go back out until the last day of March. OH, Buckeye. I was doing a fresh coffee pot each morning until Elliot suggested we run this thread continuously. Buckeye, you sure bounced back from that surgery real well. Well, things to get done so I can shove off. God bless all.

Hey, it's snowing here again. No fair. Supposed to be sub-20s into next week. Hope your weather is better and Trevor is recovering. Off to deal with another personnel conflict at work...

Morning team,

You nawtheneres will be unhappy, but we are having another beautiful day here. 50 headed to 70's and sunny. March is starting out traditionally for once - lots of wind great temps and some storms. The past few years it has already hit 80's by this time and little rain. We may finally be out of our drought. When I was at Possum Kingdom lake a few weeks ago - it was near conservation level for the first time in 5 or 6 years (had been 12 - 20 feet low). As PK is far west of Dallas - I kind of use it as a gauge of how we are doing for moisture in the area.

Have great day all!
Roy

Watch out for them Doug. They are generally real docile animals until you get one cornered then they get real NASTY. When I was a kid I would find one in my rabbitt traps every once in a while.

He was big too - calmly looking back at me from the deck in the light one evening. I kept the dog in - Mr. Possum was bigger. I guess he gets to stay under the deck.

This really begs the question, "How many Ohio guys and gals (and other northern folks) have actually tasted baked/fried...whatever, 'possum?" I know I haven't...is this a traditional "southern" delicacy???

Hello All: I don't know about eating but last year my 12 year old hit one in the backyard bushes with a hockey puck, instant death. We had a family of them hiding out from the new expressway & urban sprawl. A friend of ours is a licensed trapper, two days later we had mom & dad in the cage. They are a pretty looking critter, they also freeze when you turn a light on them, we were warned not to let the dog loose on them. I asked our trapper friend what he does with them,He smiled & replied "the fur makes good mitts or collars, the rest is ground up for dog food". But I have heard of some making possum soup, don't know if that's a Southern or Northern" recipe. Maybe someone can help with that one. Maybeit's called the Orange Possum Special. Kind Regards to All Steve

Well it's snowing out. WW says 3 to 5 inches tonigt and 2 to 4 more tomorrow. We may break our record for snowest season. Aren't we lucky.

Possum, eat - no, shoot yes. When I live in the country, I had one that wanted to attack my dog. One round from my 357 end that. yeh I know, an over kill, but a kill.

Evening folks,
Whew, it's been a while since I posted. I'll go back and read up some other day, but just thought that I would post now.

As for the weather, they're saying snow for us tonight and tomorrow too. It doesn't look like it's going to be any significant amount, but, given the accuracy of past reports, that might actually be cause for concern.

Even better, *** Frymire's Winter Weather Forecast published in November calls for 2" of snow on March 11th. He's actually had a pretty good year this year, at about 20% correct, so who knows.

Hope that you all have a good evening.

Just a quick note to let all know I have returned, like Mc Authur. I am still alive after my sojourn to the land of sweet tea and grits, and oh yes possum stew (really greasy) but much better than armadillo. Trying to get caught up.........Tim

Good evening all, hope everyone is doing well.

My son Trevor came through his surgery with flying colors. For the first time in his life, he didn't snore last night. He is talking clearer, and he can here out of his right ear.

Thanks a million for all the prayers and kind thoughts. He thinks train guys are awesome.

He has played a lot of Thomas the trains, and friends, and his military train. After the operation, we upgraded his crepe paper grass to lifelike grass mat. Looks a lot better.

[#welcome] sanman. Have a geat time here, and always feel free to ask questions. Great guys here.

PEtim, welcome back. How was the trip?

Buckeye, Spanky, and all people in the storms path. Be careful out there. Hope all goes well, and you get lots of playing time with the trains.

Good to see you back ben. Don't stay away so long.

Jerry, great picture.

No possum eatin' in socal, but we have them. Can't shoot them, no guns in city. Mean suckers compared to dogs and cats.

Take care all

Tim, Good news about Trevor. [:D] Mark your calender for friday the 25th, the kids club will be running the layout at the museum, good chance for Trevor to see others of almost his age with their trains.

Awesome Doug, we have it marked, and will plan on being there.

I love the O guys, the cooooooolest, the friendliest, and the most fun train guys on the planet. After all the fun in the garden shop the last weekend, I would love to build O outside. More layout in the space, and I still can enjoy coffee with my buds.

That's great news about Trevor. His quality of life should improve greatly.

Tim, remember this is not an O Gauge forum, it is a Toy Train forum, so anyone that considers their trains in that catagory including G are in the right spot. Now that I think about the climate in Southern California, you could run almost anything outside. I know the G scale would even work in the rain since it works in the snow.

PETim, yes welcome back to your mountain and God's country.

Sanman, if you are going to build a layout, someone on this forum needs to give you the link to Thor's web pages.
