Scratch b rules – I live close to the waterline main line CXS and NS lines, but I believe you are closer than I am. The tracks are about ¼ mile from my house. Many times I can here the engines before the horns blowing, but I am far enough that I don’t feel them.

Coffee is ready but I can not have any. Off for stomach test this AM. Hope Dr. says don't come back [like the one yesterday did about lungs]. Can not eat or drink anything. Got a bad cold [Roy sent it I think] and can not take anything for it until I get back from test. They may not let me take it with a cold. ??? Cold weather here but all the snohio stayed up nawth except for the dusting we got with the sun shinning yesterday. Wind sure did blow when that dusting came. Was 38 so did not stay. All have a great day and God bless all.

Good morning all,

Just thought I'd let you know that I'm sitting in the corner - back against the wall - just checking out the conversation. Lots of pages to browse and a good chance to find out if there's room for another .......

I'm siberianmo - and it really isn't hard to figure out how that moniker came about. Hint: I live in Missouri ....... No, I'm not originally from Siberia, but my dog's ancestors were.

I'm a railroad fan and have been ever since my childhood in the 1940's ...... Real trains or model trains - just enjoy the topic.

Think I'll stick around for awhile ........

Happy Railroading! Siberianmo

Welcome Siberianmo! - just made another pot here at work - boy, I make lousy coffee - have a cup! Chief, glad your lungs are still working. Really really cold here today - for March - it's 5.. I see it's supposed to 66 in San Diego today and 64 in Austin. Sigh.

I wish I lived closer to the UP's tracks - they're about 5 miles away - I can hear the (few) freights at night, I like the ambience. Glad you're home from school, Chris. It's great to get an unexpected day off. Uh oh, I see the boss is asking me via email what I would like to do if I wasn't doing what I am doing now - now that's a loaded question... ;)

Glad you explained that name, Siberianmo. I was a little confused looking at it as all one word.

Come on down, Doug M. I just made a pot, it's pretty good (either that or I am used to it), and I am the only coffee drinker here. It is 74 here this morning; almost too hot for coffee.

Chief, I know your plate is pretty full with all the poking, prodding and general invasion of privacy that the medico types do, but did you get to the GATS at the Midsouth Fairground, and if you did, we'd like a report.

Got to go do some work to try to defray some of the expense of this train hobby. I'll be thinking of you Chief, and sending smooth stomach vibes your way.

Siberianmo, [#welcome]

Always room for more!

Chief, sorry about the cold - watch those computer viruses (!) and get well soon. Continue the good luck on the testing you are undergoing. My kids hoped the cold would make sure you sent the snoHIo our way. Looks so far that this school year will pass without using the snow makeup days. Last Feb we had the best storm ever where we got enough snow (rare - about once every 20 years) to build snow forts in the park and have some real snowball fights!

Rain showers today and 50 degrees. Ready for it to warm up.

Spent all day yesterday mowing (weeds), pulling weeds, mulching leaves, cleaning alley (of leaves), etc.

Have a great day all!

Regards, Roy

Thanx tor the welcome. I can probably break my "rule," and hang around for maybe one more cup .....

I try to stick to a "two mugs per day" limit when it comes to coffee - and mine is the unleaded variety. Way back in the late 70's, I had a medical reason to get away from caffeine - especially the version found in coffee. I was a 25 cup a day drinker .... say no more.

My dog - Juneau - has never been near a real railroad, and we plan to keep it that way. If you know about Husky's - they are great runners and hardly ever pay attention to commands. So, this being our second Husky (first one lived 16 years and 2 months - and his name was FRED - that should open up some comments amongst RR folks!), we have learned to keep him restrained on our 25 ft expandable leash. Enough about dogs - let's get to trains.

I live about 15 miles away from a great RR station - the Kirkwood, Missouri station. It is no longer staffed - but does have some fine volunteer workers to help the passengers with the 4 Amtrak trains per day that stop there. The station is one of those "treasures" and for the train fans out there who search for historical places, you will find this one within the archives of historical stations.

The trains I am speaking of pass between St. Louis and Kansas City, with Kirkwood being the first stop on the westbound out of St. Louis. One train in each direction either begins the day in Chicago or ends it there. The other two are the "Mules" of Missouri.

Okay - I think I'll sit back awhile and let the chat continue ........
Happy Railroading! Siberianmo

Welcome Siberianmo. Glad you dropped by and are going to stay. SkyRay, did not get to the train show. Fairgrounds was down town like and I was out east. Did get to the two hobby shops in the yellow pages [both right near BPS]. Picked up two K-Line box cars with spring trucks for a steal. Other hobby shop [real nice and lots fo stock] had everything MSRP. Got a cold last night. [:(] Took cold meds when I got home and also droggy from being knocked out. Dr. says upper GI is fine. [:)] Think I'll rest some more.[;)]

Well, Boca is a good bit north of me. It's too cool to use our pool also, at 74. If it gets down to fifty I'm hauling out the mothballed hockey skates cuz the pool will be frozen--we have different laws of physics here in south Florida.

Chief, your experience just shows how things change. When I lived in Memphis the Fairgrounds was way out east. I need to go back and find out just how far urban sprawl has gone. Glad your GI is good.

Hello Cheif: Actually MPC had a good number of CN O27 in a lot of Wild colours. Sombody was being politically correct, Canadien is the French way of spelling, Canadian is the English way, In both Languages stands for Habitant. Buckeye is right, you have to get them off of the floor or some clumsy Yankee will step on them. Hope thing's worked out with the Doc. Kind Regards Steve
