Here I go again showing my newness, Confused but what is the 4 1/2 star rating in the upper right corner of this thread?

Also fifedog - Not sure what SPF is. Something to do with NASCAR, or something I am to young to know about?

Chuck - Tony #14 is happy to be back in a chevy. Now if he could change tire brands------- Angry

Especially when you cvame saying you weren't going to be posting anymore as you had a couple hard blows and didn't say what it was lol Glad your back thou.

Up early to get chores out of the way in time to watch 500 and pre race coverage.

dbaker48 -I got the email notice of your 12:55 PM post, went to the thread to see the pictures and no post. What happened? Was it your first paragraph maybe?

Roger - I can relate to the concrete test cylinders. I worked summers in Collage taking and testing those cylinders. We were paving streets and made a test cylinder every 50'.

laz57 - That is real train dedication. On Valentine's Day you kiss the wife and run trains for 2 1/2 Hrs. A lot of us need understanding wives like yours!

Brutus - I know I am new to this thread and not sure what the Tardis is. Is that a vehicle that has peddle power, shoe leather brakes and no roof? Sometimes has John Deere written on the side?

Yes I am 100%  We sorta got the raw end of the Feb,14 Feast Day.  Everyone gives it to St. Valentine, but really it ST. CYRIL & METHODIUS' Day.

  AH HOVNO

Dobre!!!  Prosim si velke pivo.  Ah Hovno..  Laugh  I have to admit my slovak isn't as good as my french, est horrible.  This will give me a good reason to start.  Do you make the smoked chub and saurkraut soup with mushroom gravy and barley for Christmas?

I did spend some time with the sokol group in my youth.

My family is from a small village in the south west, last contact was about 6 years ago thru my aunt, who called the village.  She asked for someone, and they said they would get them....20 minutes later he came to the phone.  Only phone in the village, and he was in the fields.

Good evening all,

It was a cloudy and cold day in SE Indiana with temps in the 30s.  There are some moments when life is worth living.  Friday night I went out to the YMCA for the regular routine.  My Brazilian soccer "student" from last fall was doing some treadmill work.  I asked if she would rather play soccer instead.  We set up some make-shift goals and hammered away at each other for over a half hour.  There was some junior high kid watching us and since I was leading fairly comfortably, I asked him if he wanted to play as well.  He was fairly good, but I managed to maintain my lead until she had to leave.  I still did my weights afterward.  Even though I was gasping for air half the time we were playing, there was a grin on me from ear to ear.  Even though I will never be a Beckham or a Ronaldo ( or even a Mia or Marta for that matter ), I still love the game and last night reminded me of why I go to the YMCA and exercise my tail off just to be mediocre.  Wife and I watched "Dollhouse" and "Numb3rs".  Both were good.  Saturday was house work day and then we went to the fundraiser for the oldest daughter's school.  Food was good, but the rest of the event was boring as h---.  Did go to the YMCA again in the afternoon and got an e-mail from my Norwegian soccer friend.  Tomorrow is the Daytona 500 and I have to work on taxes.  Beacon is lit but someone else can drive.  I had bacon and biscuits courtesy of the "saucy wench in the kitchen" for breakfast this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

HI GYZ,

Went to Mass and then took WIFE out instead of making King Crab legs.  Went to Golf course where they had Chesapeeke Chicken, chicken stuffed with crab in Marinaro Sause, taters, beans, dessert,I don't eat, a ROSE for the WIFE and BEER for me.  Came home, took dog for walk, gave WIFE kiss, ran trains for 2.5 hrs. NO PILE UPs.  All is GOOD in MILLERSBURG, PA.

Stay FROSTY,

BTW: that was a fake police car.  Ours does not look like that.

Hmmm, I guess your right.  However as a Senior Authority, why would the City's Official Website incorporate a picture of Police Car that DID NOT BELONG to the CITY????  (ref. banner)  Maybe you didn't recognize it upside down.  The Black Car is one of the Ohioians vehicles, as is the first photo, only it is white.  (notice the eagle/buzzard emblems on the door.)

Now as far as the double agent stuff goes, you know the Great (now broke) State of California, maintained a state of neutrality during that frecus of 100 years past.

Evening all!

laz 57

Happy St. Cyril & Methodius Day!  Patron Sts. of all of the Slavic Region.

Laz:  Are you Slavic?  Slovak?  Me 50%.

Brutus:  Prayers for you to get some sleep, and for your Bride to get better.

DougNottaG:  Bride made rolls today!  I e-mailed the recipe.  Might be just the thing.

Ran sound for a special event for our youth pastor.  He took his Bride out for dinner, and wanted to sing to her, so our keyboard player recruited a band to make it happen.  Our senior pastor and a few others sang back-up for him.  His daughter arranged about 200 tea light candles around the walkways and stage area, for mood.  Great night!

Beacon is on!

Man am I tired - wife was up coughing and hacking all night and I had to get up about 4:30 for work.  Could have slept until 5, but woke up anyway - one of those when it rains it pours things I guess?  Trying to keep my eyes open so I sleep right tonight.  Took son to Gamestop to spend a lot of Birthday money (thanks for the well-wishes guys), then we went out to a Chinese buffet.  Wife got a rose, but gave it to our daughter as she's not much for flowers.  Since she has been sick, we agreed to have a nice valentine dinner next week when everyone is better (I hope).

Roger, that's not a very good move to raise prices in a recession Sad

For those interested, ChooChoo has a "I Love Ohio" boxcar on auction.  Thought about getting one, but with the price of ammo these days, I don't want to waste bullets....just kidding.  seriously, someone may be interested.

I checked it out and it was not a RARE, "I Love OHIO" boxcar.  Mine was one of a kind.

Re: the cork retaining wall.

Brings to mind a house that I pass on the way into Athens, the owner obviously works for a concrete firm, or testing firm.  He has a wall in front of the house built from the test cylinders taken from concrete batches.  Did a double take the first time I passed it years ago.

Afternoon All.

Great day at the museum yesterday, lots of visitors from all over the country. Had three trains on the layout, running two at a time so the other could take a coffee or would that be a non-smoking break. Clown My turn to make lunch, meatball and provolone sandwiches. Pretty good but I still haven't been able to find a reaaly good crusty/chewey bread for them. Sad

Great idea on the corks Patrick.

Excellent "photoshopping" of that Ohoho boxcar, whoever the culprit may be.

Afternoon all.  Break for lunch.  Yes, at this time.  Been busy.  I know why the store has rumors of being closed.  It is in poor stocking shape since I left last June.  Got a charger on sale for $50 off.  Great buy.  None in stock.  Sold out first thing this AM.  Did force Marine Manager to honor price later with me signing the back of his business card.  still not good business pracrices.

Partly cloudy and real warm.  If you Yanks lived down here, you'd be mowing grass instead of blowing snow.  WhistlingLaugh

Got to get back to the store and sell some more "business cards".  Sigh

Good almost afternoon Y'all!  Hey Chief, not sure, but I may be in trouble!  A bunch of out of state PD vehicles are setting up on the perimeter.  They don't seem to be threatening or even looking to forcible entry.  I think they are waiting, looking for someone?  You may want to take a different route home.  I hear they are staking out the major points of entry into NC including airports and highways.  I have to head out in a little while,  Wonder if these boys from OH are going to give me  a police escort to the UPS store?  Have to send a copy of the movie out and also my TCA application.

Bride was pleased with 18 long stem reds along with Dove chocolates and some other goodies.  IF momma is happy, daddy is allowed to be happy.  She treated me pretty well too.  I married above myself!  Hey, it was her idea for me to go to York (after some hints).

Well, I hope that everyone has a great weekend.

God Bless,
Dennis

 Good Morning All:

Enjoyed the "Trains and Locomotives" show this morning. All about the Granger Roads. Of special interest to me as a farmer and Council Bluffs Iowa native. Extensive coverage of Rock Island Line, as well as Northwestern and Burlington lines. Jack - have you seen this one by Herron Rail Video?

Video included an interesting story, to me anyway. While building track for Santa Fe, in order to make piece with the Indians, an Indian Chief was allowed to drive the "Iron Horse". At the end of the run, the engineer commented SUPER     CHIEF! Thus the name of Santa Fe's luxury train.

Don - Great story about  Roseyville - and totally believable.

fifedog - I agree on Martin for the 500. My second choice of course is 18.

cnw - Stack the corks horizontally to create retaining walls, stack vertically for bridge pillars. Or you could brew up some home made wine. Mischief

Morning all. Not that much snow after all - a few inches. Bride liked her retreat get-away day gift. Have to  suit up the armor to tilt with Social Security next week, who have apparently tagged the daughter in her FAFSA as not being a citizen. This after I did all the right paperwork years ago.  Hope to work with an LED later.

What would you suppose could be a layout use for hundreds of wine bottle corks a friend bought back fro m Europe for the bride - they are big, almost perfect cylinders - fit nicely in the Troublesome trucks as 'barrels' - but they look so useful. Maybe I can make something - any ideas?

Good Morning All

Razzle fratzen snow is back. Not bad but enough to cover my purrty green grass. Our grass turns brown next month.

Prices up some more eh. I knew when K-line folded this would happen, glad there's nothing I gotta have. Doing the laundry and waiting for the snow to end before I go out and clear the walks, Happy Valentines Day...S.J.
