Howdy folks!  Well, I danced my rear-end off with my beautiful daughter, then had an icecream before we came home.

Watched a couple hours of british steam videos today - some really neat old stuff as well as newer stuff, including in Zimbabwe!  They had (I think) the Tallyllyn (sp?) line, too - which is a very narrow gauge railroad that was kept going by fans after the owner passed away.  I read a book about it so it was neat to see some of their stuff in operation!

Some warmed up cookies would be good though, so I'll be heading out in a few minutes.  Checked the scope a second ago and I think I can see Patrick's porch light on?  Also, there appears to be a fire in Michigan?  Whistling  We'll be along shortly.  Gotta pick run over to Laz's house and check out the new layout, grab SJ, Kurt, RT, Doug, Ray, Patrick, Charlie, Don (how's the neighbor?), Dennis, I think there are a half-dozen more beacons on the screen tonight - WOW!  Porch lights work fine, btw.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Fife, I think the medication for the "Roids" is "Tushinex"Wink  Actually, round these parts, folks put cayenne pepper on 'em and it supposedly clears them up.  I am not that brave.  I Think Fife Should Try the CAYENNE pepper one. ShockWhistling Jet assisted Patrol Car.

Funny, too many adds on this forum is slowing it up. Not us. Angry  Can look and bid on Choochoo many times before this will roll over a page.

Chief, If he used the Cayenne Pepper not only would it be a Rocket Powered Patrol car but any perps in the back seat would be in real trouble. Sad

Great SPF today. Thumbs Up

Be back in a bit with an edit momma broke sumpthin !

I'm back, somehow she broke the needle in the sewing machine and it was jammed in the bobbin mechanism. All fixed and runnin' again.

One of the local TV stations wants to do a broadcast from the museum tomorrow morning. An un-named person* tossed the event to the "Toy Train Gallery", so instead of arriving at my regular time of about 8 am or so. Normally that gives us a few hours to do the "housekeeping chores" and set up, unfortunately they want to broadcast during the 7 am segment so we have to be in at 6 am. Zzz Forgot to add that we are expecting heavy rains early am. Banged Head

*- don't want to identify who & why, hurt feelings create big trouble. Whistling

Later in the morning the "Kids Club" takes over running the layout for the day. By then I'll be ready to head for the barn.

Kurt, Thanks for the recipe, give it try soon.

Had a great evening service tonight.  I was not on camera tonight...glad as I doubt my back and neck could take it.  I worked the Iris for the cameras in the main control room.  Actually like it up there as we have the big cushy seats (kinda like Chief on his flights).  Funny thing, pastor was talking about forgiveness and how it is more about the person doing the forgiving than the person being forgiven.  Seem to have heard that before, must be true.  Does make one feel better.  At the end of the services, he had everyone write down any names of people to whom they have any bitterness towards in their hearts.  Then, everyone went forward and left them at the alter.

I was glad to see that the photo I put on SPF made it.  I am learning and before long, when I have some scenery done, I will have some photos to add to the thread.  Was a great read as always.

Had a good conversation with a certain mayor type.  Hopefully he is back home and getting some rest.  He may have had to sneak back by a different route as I think the Ohio National Guard is waiting for him at the main street in Rosyville.  Heard he had a complaint against him and that they were looking at securing his wealth for possible resolution of a certain mishap with a consist from Ohio.

Well, y'all take care,

Dennis

HI GYZ,

Worked on another little layout 4 X 6 feet enough to have a little 0-27  and a few buildings I didn't know what to do with.  Wife is helping on placement of buildings.  Ran trains for an hour again believe it or not NO PILE UPs.  Yea for me!!!

PATRICK, when you're driving DA TARDIS, please don't ride da clutch.  BRUTUS will tell you about that.  Have FUN!

Good evening

It was one of those days could not get anything together, did some email chit-chat and TV was most of my day. Sun stayed with us all day but I think 30 was the hi spot. Chief we really need those grits, potholes are getting deeper. Soon there won't be enough cars left for the unemployed to leave Michigan in.

Brutus, Banilla is waiting, send the thingy and lets go someplace warm..S.J.

Oh will have to check with RT for baked goods, we are out.

Good evening all,

It was cold and cloudy in SE Indiana with temps in the 30s.  Did not do much.  Went to the YMCA after Mass.  Tried to watch part of the Daytona race, but kept falling asleep.  Had bacon and biscuits (Real Food, Chief!)again on the dining car for breakfast.  RT, the "saucy wench" is the wife.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good Evening from Blueberryhill....

It was a cold day today. 30 degrees. No snow or rain.

Today was a quiet day. I relaxed and did some reading. Daytona 500 was a bomb. Then, it ended early because of rain. Not a good race. Baseball season will be starting soon. That's a good thing. I need to get to a hobby store. Nearest one is 70 miles one way.

Dining car was here early and then headed for " Points West ".

I enjoyed the SPF. Thanks for sharing, Guys.

I hope y'all had a great Sunday.

Evening all. Long day - also on camera at church, then doing chores and watching the race. Now bride and teens are at teen services at church and I have a long honey-do list and the youngest. I think I will chuck it and run trains for a hour with him. Wink

Attended the train show today at the fair grounds, needless to say I took along a photo of my RARE, "I LOVE OHIO" boxcar.  Most of the dealers just stood there with their mouths open in awe when I told them I used to have one in mint condition.   Several of them were kind enough to direct me to a pit bull of a lawyer from the D.C. area that can help me in my lawsuit.

The show was not packed as last year, but the kids were there in mass running trains.

Afternoon all!

Back from Train show!  Saw a few people I know, said they're getting into trains!  I picked up a 1033 transformer (thanks for the recommendation Sir James) for 4-yo to take to preschool, for the letter 'T' day!  Need to test and see just how fast I can make the trains go, and still stay on the tracks.  I am hoping to set things up, and let the kids run the trains.

Well, I have been busy getting some projects done on rolling stock and engines on the layout.  I am going to order some LEDs from the firm the Chief mentioned not too long ago here.  You know, in reading this last issue of CTT, I noticed that two of the "Tips and Tricks" ideas came from folks in Ohio.  What is with that?  Didn't think they had it in them.  Probably stole the ideas from a good hearted SouthernerMischief  Just kidding guys.  Great ideas and thanks for sharing them.

Dennis, these "Tips and Tricks" are not knew to us Southerners but old things we knew when we were kids playing with trains.  This is just getting to Ohio.  That is how far they are behind.  CTT wanted keep them as subscribers so they printed their suggestions. Sigh

God Bless,
Dennis

Good Afternoon Y'all!  Back is a bit out of whack as it was a rough night sleeping.  With bride at work, I let the kids sleep in the bed with me and the dog.  We have a big bed, but all four of us were on my side.  Got up early and did some errands around the house.  Then I was cooking breakfast when the bride came home.  Wife went to bed, I got the kids ready for church.  Then at church, one of the camera operators didn't show, so I took his spot...that only added to my back issues.

Fife, I think the medication for the "Roids" is "Tushinex"Wink  Actually, round these parts, folks put cayenne pepper on 'em and it supposedly clears them up.  I am not that brave.

Wife and kids are getting ready to make snow cones.  Down here, we have to make the snow to eat, up there, they just open the door and get it, yellow or not.

Hope that each of you has a great week ahead.  I will continue to keep the concerns in my prayers.

God Bless,
Dennis

SP, not home yet.  Sitting in the NO airport.  Could catch an earlier flight but will sit here and rest and wait until 4:15 CT [now 1:55].  Sold out of product at Cabela's.  Could go downtown and see the parades (.) (.) but being an old gierser, will sit here.  Might get caught up in the wild life of NO and stay. Shock

Well I see Mr. Whiney is not on here cryingover his cheap box car.  Funny how he can shine so much and then type this on the other thread:

Buckeye Riveter

I have done five conversions and I recommend ERR Conversions.  The Chief talked me into doing the ERR instead of the TAS and I'm glad he did.  It was so simple.   I didn't solder anything. Wire nuts were used at the splices.  My directional lighting worked perfectly.

Buckeye and the Chief recommend ERR Conversions. Thumbs Up

The Ohio way, I guess. Whistling

As far as the"fruit loop" from CA, he has to type his posts on word and then paste them on the forum.  Kay helps compose them as his "level" is not up to ours.

Patrick, be careful as those Yanks may pick you up and not bring you back.  Can't trust Yanks.

Later.

PS: Choochoo Auctions has an OVEDRPRICED I love OH box car for sale going off right now.  Price is $10.  Seems it is the same RARE ONE OF A KIND box car Buckeye has been whinning about. Laugh

SPMan - My reference to the "Beacon" refers to the beacon light various members of this Pot thread turn on so the Tardis knows to stop and pick them up. I need a beacon to see what this flying phone booth looks like.

Brutus, l finally learned what the Tardis is but not sure about the "Beacon".  Must be some kind of control for the Tardis  I am not a child of the 60's.  I was a grown man then trying to make a living and not paying too much attention to things like Dr. Who.

Chief, I see you made it home OK from the "Big Easy".  Must be a great place for sea food.  Did you get a free upgrade on your flight to first class?  I have never had one of those although my wife got one once.  I'm happy if I can just get a seat with enough leg room in coach.  I used to fly a lot going to York up until about 2001.  Always had to change planes in Big D.  Everything on American changes at Dallas. Then fly on to BWI or where ever you were going.  Speaking of rude people.  My worst encounter was in New Jersey years ago.  Nothing special, it was just that everyone I spoke too had short answers.  I guess up Nawth, they don't have time for small talk.

Regarding Civil War history in California.  Maybe they did'nt do much here but there was some kind of unit stationed at Ft Tejon between L.A. and Bakersfield.  They have reenactments there today.  I guess they were Union Soldiers.  I went to school in Virginia so I was taught more history on that side of the country.

Don, hope you did'nt eat those Susie Q's after cramming them in that box car.  They must be something like a chocolate Twinkie.  I used to love all that kind of junk food when I was a kid but can't afford the calories now.

Good morning Coffee Potters and Hairy Potters too!

Well, got some good sleep last night, so feeling a lot better myself.  My wife sounds a lot better, but says if she is not feeling well I can just take the kids to the party at noon.  Waiting for my turn in the shower.  I offered to save some water, but was denied - I guess I'm too green for her? Shock  Looking at small switching layouts online, I want to model one that would be basically a module now and then able to add to bigger layout later as a separate line off on one side - maybe pass freight back and forth?  Also still working on a tinplate project - need to finalize plan and make a prototype out of some posterboard I bought.

Oops - sorry Chief, wife is only allowed Robitussin DM per doctor as she is on asthma meds and steroids now.

Patrick, you are more than welcome to come along, just turn on the beacon and then you can brag about all the fun we had the next day Wink

The Tardis, circa 1963, which is interestingly the year I was born.

Good Morning from Southern Ohio,

On dayshift, training a new supervisor, he is going to be my replacement when I go to straight dayshift the end of this month, and he is running things and I am just being “available”.

Valentine’s Day yesterday was great.  The bride loved her tiffany lamp.  When I got home from work, the bride had blackened salmon asparagus sweet potatoes a great white wine and homemade chocolate truffles for dessert!  Wow!  I married above me!!!!

Mick C – I am impressed, juggling with dumbbells last week and now keeping up with teens on the soccer field!!!  Wow you da man!

Don – I about choked on my coffee reading your story line in SPF!

RT – I am not sure how long Sunday Photo Fun has been around.  I’ve started a lot of them lately but I think it is more so because I am up early on Sunday either due to work or church and love to share photos.  BTW I tried to put a third rail on the layout but I could not figure where to put the wire.

Check back later, May God bless

Jim

Hi GYZ,

28 here this morning and about 1/2 inch of snow.  To get to 40 so it should be short lived.

PATRICK, YEP WIFE watches a movie I go and play downstairs.  She usually falls a sleep during movie then she'll wake up come down watch trains for a while, 5 minutes, say their nice looks good.  Then says good nite, goes to bed.

OLE TIMER, Nope only run them about 60 scale MPH.  BUCKEYE runs them flat out, plasticville people have big insurance policies in ROGERS CORNER.

KURT, yes we have Holy Supper on Christmas Eve.  Start with the oplaky and honey, follwed by musheroom and sauerkraut soup, the bolbalky, pierogis, fish,we have perch, better tasting, finish up with kolatchy.  And oh yes PIVO!   Ol Mil of course, women drink the wine.  I too have relatives in old country,I don't know but they are there.  I get the Jednota news paper, every two weeks.  There is  a section in there for speaking Slovak, and with MOM still alive she is giving me some lessons.  I was taught when I was 5 by grandparents but remember some stuff but not all, wish I did.  So I'm learning every two weeks and every Saturday when I call MOM.

FIFE, if you want, you too can start speaking Slovak.  KURT and I could teach you.

Stay Frosty,

Chief - TUSSIONEX ; does it work on "roids" Confused

Might make them worse. Shock  Will stop all of that unless you take some softners.  You will also lose pressure so don't pee on yourself. Shock  Stuff is powerful.  Best take a tiny swig.  Will stop coughing and dry you up so you have to take a lot of liquids.

Morning.  Got to get packed and moving.  Seems it is real late but it is Central time so not too late.  Got first class to Charlotte and then home.  This use to be fun but now it is more of a job.  One thing better is they have cut it one day shorter due to the economy.  Now for some strong New Orleans and LA Community Coffee.

BTW: is that Ohio guy still whinning about his cheap mpc run of the mill I love OH box car.  Think I will send him a pacifier and a teddy bear.
