Got up in the 40's today and supposed to hit 50 or so tomorrow? Then we go back in the Freezer! Daughter has a cough - hope that's all Coming up on our Father-Daughter dances, so I'm sure she'll be out shopping for a dress in the next week or so I'll really miss this in a few years. Hat's off to ya, Fife - read your post about the daughter the other day and it really touched me.
Right, Tardis is ready, scope shows folks all over the place and according to the roster it is Kurt's turn to drive! Woohoo! Cake, banilla, and/or salsa and chips tonight so let's go! Rootbeers are on me!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Buckeye, Some great pictures there! Did you go out on the transparent bridge?
Boy talk about sensitive ! And I didn't call anyone a dummy either.
RT, he probably is using grits to hold everything in place IN THAT NON POWERED, LIGHT WEIGHT TRAIN ENGINE FASCIMILE THAT DOES NOT HAVE THE OPERATING COUPLERS.

Anyone know of military schools that take 2 and 4-yo'ds? Bath night. 2-yo is dumping sand pails full of water onto the floor...4-yo.........just watching.
Doug: Any lights yet?
Brutus: I'm in if you're in the neighborhood.

You can't make this stuff up, its too good !
You are the DUMMY. Posted a thread on CTT detailing the job. Buckeye [yes Buckeye] suggested CTT run it in their magazine. They never said a word. Been doing that for years now. How do you think I get all that smoke in the train room.
Wow, Buckeye... Hope to avoid the 'Lost' watchers to make it to the basement ;)

This last weekend, Mrs. Buckeye made me ride the train again. Here are a few photos from the trip.
kpolak Jim: Nice Loco! Great Paint! Can you divulge the information on the spade supplier? I'm planning to use some on my home job UCS push buttons. The have small terminals on the ends, and it's easier to install the spades instead of soldering all those connections. Spent part of the day pulling ut the toys! Setting up the layout for company, and trying to prioritize. Kurt
Kurt and others thanks for the compliments on the 350. The source for the small female spade connector is Digikey, 1-800-344-4539, www.digikey.com part # 920044-09-ND. I received a delivery confirmation on my order, so if you are not in a hurry, let me see if these will work before you go and buy some. Including shipping 50 was $9.97.
Jim
DUMMY- I thought it was some one you guys knew. And you were talking about an engine the entitre time. Imagine that.
heck don maybe an unelectrical minded me could really blow there mind when I tell them that I added lights and sound to a dummy

Sturgeon-Phish I found a source for 3mm female spade connectiors and ordered 50 to see if they will work on the fastrack. If they do work, I’ll have some extras to share.

Fife – Your escapades just give the rest of us ideas that we usually do not follow through with,
Rich – Since I am flirting with the “O” in the PE after being true AF it is only right to cross over to “the other side”
Got to get ready to go to work
May God bless
ChiefEagles Knock, knock. I am Special Agent for the CA Dept. of Revenue. I am looking for one, Don Baker. I was told he was former Treasurer for his train club. Being Treasurer, he is personally responsible for his club's tax debt. Anyone having knowledge of the where abouts of said fellon, please notify me immediately.

Last I heard he moved to some place on main st. in Rolesville, NC
jonadel Chief-- Your wife's 4 Runner is all wheel drive, the only time you rotate the 4 x4 switch is if you are axle deep in mud, it's the super low range.

Your wife's 4 Runner is all wheel drive, the only time you rotate the 4 x4 switch is if you are axle deep in mud, it's the super low range.
Nope, is not all wheel drive. Have to select 4X4H or 4X4L on the electronic switch. Runs in 2X4 all the time.
Don, that tax problem in San Pedro sounds like overkill. I have seen that N gauge club to which you referred. $26000 is more than the whole place is worth. Hope you guys can work things out for the AGHR club with the state.
The benediction at the innaugural was different but I think well intended. Talk about getting out of Dodge, The former President took off in a chopper right from the Capitol building. Don't think I have ever seen a former President leave that fast Too bad Sen. Kennedy had to go to the hospital and spoil the day for himself. Same goes for VP Cheney who hurt his back and had to attend in a wheel chair I'm sure that hurt his pride.
Glad to see the Chief is posting again. Was wondering what he was up to.
Later,

So many roads, so little time.
Good Morning,
A bit cold down here near Miami FL today, in West Palm Beach it got down to 35 overnight and was 38 when I got up this morning, now it is 46 outside, inside house 65. Seems like Jack Frost don't know his borders for cold weather. Another cold night is predicted foWest Palm Beach FL. If I am cold what about anjdevil or the Cheif?
Wife had off from work on monday and yesterday I had to catch up with some work around the house and run some errends.
Don't know what it is around here but TV sets have been dropping almost like flies, first my set goes then my parents set dies, somebody at work had a TV set die as well. Could be FPL, flickering powerless and lightless, when you have NO electric. Almost like the nickname for Delaware Lackawanna & Western "Delayed, Lingering & Waiting" heard that one at Steamtown a few years ago.
Still planning to go to train show on saturday in Pompano FL at the Amtrac Station on Hillsboro Blvd in Broward County.

...anyone see a watch 'round here...?
dwiemer - Glad it was only a shoulder wound...gladder the taxpayers will be spared room-and-board.
Good morning all. AM chores done, and now for more coffee and comment.
fifdog - I'll say there is a lot of BULL in here. Now I have it inside AND outside.
Mike - How long did you have to hang around this thread before catching on to the sub-meanings? I see that in 9 days you will have been a part of this thread for 8 years.
Buckeye - I did as you suggested. Now I have two wallets and two watches! Am I in trouble?
Kurt - Sit beside fife - maybe. Pull has finger - maybe. But I would never do both at the same time.
Chief - You say fifey is a COP. Does that stand for Crazy Old Person?
RFD-TV --- Rural America's most important network!
Blueberry - EXCUSE = PROFIT REALIZATION. Same reason why home heating oil is still above $2.50 per gal, when historically it stayed same as gasoline. Supply is up...can you say collusion?
Thanks for clearing that up Chief. Was not casting disparaging thoughts, just the timing of when I walked into the Dr's lounge and I was soon back to work, so didn't see much of it. Don, also, thanks for adding that....I too am amazed that they had that at the end.....best way to have handled the event was with class, and while the rest of the event may have been so, I am sure lots will be talking of the finish.
Doug, I got it! Kind of a funny joke, but as you say, you have to know enough of which you spoke to get the joke. Kind of like us telling medical jokes to lawyers, they just don't get it....instead they want to whip out a note pad and ask "Who was the patient, we can sue over this"....it was a joke, put the pad away.
Jim, nice looking Royal Blue you have there. I will be doing a project similar to that in the future, but have too much left to do on the layout.
Well, ordered some Firehouse Subs, so heading out to pick them up. Have a busy afternoon with cases, need a good lunch.
God Bless,Dennis

Good Morning All
12 degrees and cloudy this morning, but no snow forcast. Like Chuck I will head out this morning with a bag of money and try to trade for some food. I'm still thinking of last nite as we had a good time and waiting for Kurt to come back when he can. And this forum got us together. Well Kurt, I picked up Charlie off the other place and invited him here for coffee. Have a great day...S.J.
Morning all. Grey and cold - what else is new - except it seems colder. Hope to play with an LED Kurt sent me and use all the lock-ons Brent sent me tonight or tomorrow. Ole Timer, I responded to your thread about the Hogwart's engine - in the movie, it is Olton Hall a GWR 4900. Lionel has used the same tooling to produce Kinlet Hall in their recent Shakespeare set. They both look smashing. Wish I had the curves to run 'em.
There's a joke making the rounds in British rail preservation circles that Oton Hall is just a Hall trying to be a Castle - as in Hogwart's Castle - and a Castle is a larger GWR engine, y'see. Oh forget it.
Good morning all !
Anjidevil - That didn't bother me, the guys that had negative posts were not aware of the history, Anyway, its all resolved, and I'm glad that there is a new owner. Jeff was great with compliments, but had a hard time with questioning concerns.
Dennis - I was listening to the event on the radio, and at the very end a Reverend Lowery gave a benedicition, the final words of that prayer were, "we ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get in back, when brown can stick around ... when yellow will be mellow ... when the red man can get ahead, man; and when white will embrace what is right. " Do a google on Inaugural Benediction and you will get the whole thing. I was really surprised that, that was how it would end. Wasn't anything like what I would have exxpected.
I have been able to make amends with the train club over most of "MY" issues, not completly but that's OK, (I don't want to loose some of the friendships there, mostly a good group of people.) Anyway, after a year or two determining whether or not to file for a Non Profit status through the state. It was determined to procede, last summer. Then after the processing and submission, found an alternative within the LA Parks dept.. So letter was sent to the State to withdraw the application. Guess What ! The state says SORRY, you are a legal entity, and you owe us taxes, regardless of non profit goals. And you are also responsible for fees, and penaltys, interest. Unless you inform us you have either merged, acquired, or been abandoned. What's really interesting is there is a N scale club in the same area. They too have filed, they received notice that the club had ALREADY filed and was approved in the mid 70's. And the state has been trying to locate them. They have an outstanding debt in excess of $26,000 in accumulated fees, penalties, and interest. WHOA !
Jim - Those photos of the Royal Blue's are fantastic! Real conversation generators!
Looking forward to the weekend, only have to work a half day on Sunday. Hope you all have a great day! BTW we have some RAIN in the forecast !!!!
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cold 2 degrees. Sun is out with clear skies. Hope it warms up to about 80..
Today is grocery shopping day. Gas is about $1.79 a gallon and food prices have gone up again. Wonder what the excuse is now ??
Not much else new here. Been running trains and it feels good.
Dining car was here and we had the usual for breakfast. Cheerios.
Y'all have a great Wednesday.
Chuck
Beautiful job on that engine ! Have been thinking of getting and re-doing a hogwart's express . Supposed to be a variation of an original europen engine . Does anyone know which and where I can get some info or pics of one in original form ? Figuring out best cover to scratch build for 3 IR detectors ... man they're plug ugly out of the wrapper !
Morning from the FROZEN SOUTH. Good days ahead as will be 57 degrees by Friday. Got down into the teens last night so evrything is frozen over. Sun out bright so will start melting soon.
Patrick, besides spreading his intimate laundry around, Fifey is a COP.
Fife, I am going to work on that Roanoke project. Lets shoot for June. Not too hot and not too cool in them hills.
Wifey just left for work on 4Runner. Does not know how to turn the switch to 4X4. Really don't think she needs it though. Peacful day at home.
Rich, keep us up to date on the Princess's play. Sounds good.
