Good Afternoon all!  Yeah, Don, I read your posts over "There" and agree.  I don't use the stuff that much, so really is not an issue with me, but you have the right to ask a question and they should either respect you, or just clam up.

Just got a DVD from one of the orderlies here.  Real nice guy who loves trains (but models HO).  The video is from "The History of American Railroads" and this episode is the one "The ERA of Diesel."  Looking forward to reading it.

Thanks for the well wishes guys.  Ribs hurt a bit more today, but have been busy with cases.  I really need to get back into a exercise routine, but I need to get better first.  Have a train show here this weekend. I plan on going, but I am sure it will be 90%HO and N.  One dealer in O gauge is usually there and I can often pick up a piece or two from him.  Either way, it is trains!

I hear it got colder here today.  Was in the 30s when I came in at O'Dark early, but not sure what it is now.  Don't expect any snow, I'll let the Chief battle that monster.

Watched RFD on DVR last night.  Episode on German Steam....was a great show of our European brethren.  Very nicely done with lots of shots in the main yard at Dresden.

Gotta run, God Bless,
Dennis

Commercial time on RFD-TV, so--------

I do watch the local cattle auctions (eastern states). But sometimes other auctions replace RFD-TV's train shows and country music shows. That is good time for running trains.

Chief,

Thanks for the info.  It has been about four years since I have gone fishing, but I plan on getting back into it this spring. Thanks again.

Patrick, since you are a cattle farmer [from your profile], I guess you watch the cattle auctions on RFD-TV.  I don't get it here on TW but do at the lake house on Direct-TV.

Trumpie, I use artificials for bass [lots of crank baits and some spinner baits.  In grass, I use unwighted Senkos].  Use both for Crappie and Walleye.  Crappie, I use a slipcork combo [like introduced by Bill Dance] and a Wabbleeye jig [eyes will rattle in the tiny jig] with a minnow hooked through the lips.  Walleye, I will use a night crawler on a weighted rig for clay banks.  I really prefer a number 5 Shadrap in Firetiger on banks and in the trees.  Send $50 for fishing lesson. Whistling

Now to walk to the lease and pond and feed the deer and birds [just finished refilling feeders here at the house].

Lucy has been out again to play. Sigh

Sounds like a nice day, Patrick. Hey, looks like my office opens in another hour - after the gas fumes dissapate. So I get to teach tonight after all. Looks like I'll be the only one in our college office. LOL. I hope i remember how to answer the reception phones. Couldn't find any Dept 56 at Macys.

Windy and cold outside and here I am siting in my warm office processing internet sales and listening to the Classic Country Hour with Chet Atkins on RFD-TV. Life is good!! If I had a train going around the office wall life would be perfect. Big Smile

Jim S.,

Thanks for the tip about removing link pins.

Brutus,

            Are you on Xbox Live?

Dennis,

Sorry to hear about the broken rib.  That sounds extremely painful.  I hope you feel better soon.

Patrick,

Trust me, that other site can be dangerous.

Don,

I have been following the discussion, and I agree 110% with your views on the issue.

Chief,

What are your thoughts on artificial bait versus live bait?

The only thing I have left to do today is to write a C program for a Computer Networking class that outputs the system day, date, and time to the user.  I am too lazy to do it though.

YANKEES' mess all over Roseyville.  Snohio falling hard.  Ground and roads covered.  US 401 [Main Street] has been scraped twice and still covered.  Told Town Manager to tell staff to stay inside and not come to work.  Don't want them exposed to Yankee mess.  Will probably canel Town Board meeting.

 Wimps!!!!  Laugh

Nope, just not stupid like someone I know.  Black ice in the forecast for this afternoon after dark.  Snowing lightly now.

We have a new President.  He is OUR President so I will give him the chance he needs.  A call for unity and I will answer.

Will take my walk to the pond and "lease".  Feed deer and birds there and listen to the wind in the trees as it snows.  How restful and peaceful.  God bless.

PS: Patrick, My Uncle use to preach at an Episcopal Church in or near Culpeper VA.  My lake house is in Mecklenburg Co. VA and has an address of Clarksville.  We use to visit Roanoke and Lexington VA a lot.  Even looked into buy a place in the Lexington VA area and move there.  Will not now.

can't understand why anyone would wanna read/post on that other site...?  Looks angry.  Looks intolerant. Looks like a great place to carry on disagreements on Constitution...

Where is this site? Lots of discussion but I don't know where it is. Confused

Thanks, Patrick L

She loves the snow.  Is so excited that no one can sleep.  She's been out in it 5 times since 5 AM.  Burg being a good old Reb dog says this is a mess.

Chief, That is just a good example of "youthful exhuberance" vs "wisdom of age".

Doug M., Macy's web-store was blowing out some Dept 56 Christmas stuff last week, was sorely tempted but made a very rational decision to not order any.

Looks like the Smoke manufacturer posted a response to Don... Funny how it's different when I sit in front of the same computer in this lab instead of in an office...Wonder what else there is I can visit downtown instead - maybe Marshall Fields, I mean Macys... Sure glad it's snowing down south (cue evil-sounding laugh...)

Good Morning

A beautiful cold sunny morning with clear roads and oatmeal. Ah.

Phish-thanks for the tip, was what the seller told me to do but this "Blue" is really nice and I thought cutting the head of the pin off might be less chance of damage since I have not done one before. If it were just a car, I would jump right on it.

I am taking the wife to a Dr. this afternoon as an xray showed arthritis in her shoulder. I don't know what she expects the Dr. to do except tell her to take Tylenol. But I will take her.

Time to enjoy this nice bright sunlite, No use trying to watch any news today in this entire world there will only be one thing that happens all day.  Have a good one...S.J.

Beautiful day in the Heartlands, gorgeous blue skies with a warming sun.  It's about 15 outside but very little wind so my morning walk was perfect, I'm trying hard to walk 30 minutes every day but sometimes the mind just doesn't want to go but I always feel so much better when I come back and grab a cup of coffee.  Life is good.

Don B., you sure like skating on thin ice on that other forum Smile   However, your question is valid.

Morning all. Odd day so far - half our Loop buidlings are closed because of a gas leak. Of course, the announcement came just after I got on the train downtown. So, looking for a home, I went on in, meandered down to take a look at Union Station, then over to the visitor center at the Board of Trade, visiting a few other buidlings I like - finally found a computer in our library building where I get to sit until noon. . .

Still snowing hard.  Wet stuff.  Road scraped 7 times and is OK actually.  Still not getting out.  Lots of folks are driving by.  Weather Bureau says lots of accidents from slippery roads.  Wind is blowing hard and that is not good.  All my bird feeders are full and sueit station is full.  Even added some black oil sunflower seeds to the shelter out of the snow.  Pam is cooking up a "storm" [well].  May go to the end of school street and walk down to lease to feed deer later this afternoon.  May not.  May walk all the way.  Then get good execise as park is closed.  Later

Wind and rain last night and today (so far), rain stopped but not the wind.  Temps dropped from 66 to 30 from 10PM to 6AM.  Supposed to get to 44 then down into the 20's tonight.  Temps are ok, can do without the wind though.  First day back at school for the princess and another early day (reville at 0500 >ukk<).

Listened to much of the NJ Devils last night and they won (against Nashville), now occupy first place in the Atlantic Division.

Not much on with trains right now, was told I may have to work 2/21, but I have plans to go to the local train show down town.  And the boss is not sure whether she needs me her or not.

Heard from an old classmate last night via e-mail...lots of the females from my HS class now divorced...kinda strange....

Oh well, I'll see ya inna bit

Good morning all,

It is cloudy and cold in SE Indiana with temps in the teens.  Did some Second Life after posting last night.  Talked to all three of the kids.  They are all doing ok to various degrees.  Lucas is finally learning how to get rides home from Bloomington without having some one go down and get him.  I guess the college education is starting to pay off already!  I had bran muffins on the dining car this morning.  Pork tenderloins and zucchini bread will be ready for the Tardis tonight.  I think it is my turn to drive so fasten your seat belts and keep the food trays in their locked and upright position.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' English.  Not as cold as Southern Ohio (16), cloudy and SHOHIZO all over the ground and trees here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Bedroom finished, and fifeys-whities are ready for inspection.  Kinda tailgated out back last night with beef on the grill, and a fire in the pit, and some brown bottles with red-white-and-blue labels to sip from.
