Hi guys,
New month, new edition of the Coffee Pot. I'm locking this so one of you can start a February 2009 edition.
Thanks,Erik
Good Morning,
Guess you all know that the Steelers won the superbowl! NO New England near the playoffs, that's funny as they won the superbowl two years in a row and now can't make it past their division with Miami.
Police had a busy night just down the street from me, busted a local Rooster Fighting Ring on 9227 Palomino Court near Wellington FL. Five people handcuffed and 80 birds seized, two dead birds found at the house. I was at work when I heard about the local bust, didn't even get a chance to see the police go by my house. Update, 80 birds have to be killed as they were trained for fighting.
The write-up happy clowns are still trying to get me to come in to work early. The way they treat people might have something to do with it! Old Chinese proverb applies here; 'Fool me once shame on you!' 'Fool me twice shame on me!' Also heard they were offering $50.00 gift certificates over the phone to come in on your day off but never planning to ever send one certificate out, guess I can stay at the house and see what I can sell on ebay instead. I think on old Pennsylvania saying applies about the company I work for, they are like a chicken running around with it's head cut off, not knowing what they are doing. They cut their work force down so far that now they have to hire temps from an agency to fill some positions. The company's name is Fanueil, a contracted company for the turnpike.
Not much train news, maybe I will run my trains later this moring before going to work( I said a nasty four letter word!).

Good morning all!
Been away for a couple of weeks. Life has been busy!
A beautiful day today - 50's and bright and sunny!
Yesterday was great - 70 and sunny! Unfortunately my day was spent finding and installing a new faucet for the kitchen sink. That turned into an ordeal with 5 trips to Lowes - defective new faucets - faucets that cannot be installed due to tools that do not exist (well one could make a tool -spend maybe half a day doing that!) - finding that the J trap was ready to crumble - so all new drain pipes.
Great Superbowl last night - didn't really care who won. My wife did as she did not want the Steelers to end up with more SB wins than the Cowboys!
Hope everyone has a great day today!
Regards, Roy

Brent - Understandable --
Up to 65 today with rain, cloudy now and about 45.
Had a run in with the dryer, couldn't figure why it wasn't drying, found the heating element split, ordered a new one, should be in by Wednesday. Another 2 hours well (?) spent. Dinner was good, roast beef, gravy mashed potatoes and corn with cresent rolls. Left overs for tonight!!!
Have a great day all, will check in later (and just found out 6 more weeks of winter)

Sun is out and it is warm so he see's his shadow. Been up early waiting with the .17 for him to pop out.
Think I will service my pickup this AM and then got County Commissioners meeting [have a little speach for them] followed by Town Board.
Mike C, the roads are clear here too [except for traffic].
Jimmy T, sorry you will have to work and rework. Once repairs are made, throw something together so you can RUN trains. The other can wait.
Better get moving. Breakfast seems to be a Hardee's chicken biscuit or a porkchop and gravy. Later

Buckeye,
A camera inspection revealed that the pipe is broken and out of round in several places.
Smart move, a camera inspection, because they should be able to give you a solid estimate of the costs.
Kurt...Glad you liked the photos.
Good morning all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 30s. Roads were clear on way to work. I had bran muffins on the dining car for breakfast this morning. Too busy today. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,

ChiefEagles Would much rather done that than watch the Stupid Bowl game. Off to bed. Rock, I think I hear the pup wanting to go outside. Get up as I know the Mrs. will make you. Good night. Sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite.

Good night. Sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite.
Maximus must have heard you. Wife too. Dog only made it to 1am. After that pit stop, the pup made it through the night. Somehow the "delivery" schedule is way off, but output at 11pm appeared complete. Now what? Not enough sleep for this Nawthener. The good news, no poop or pee to clean up. At least he's got the concept down........: "NOT IN THE HOUSE!!!!!"

Morning!
Wow! Yuz GiZ were busy!
RT: Happy Birthday!
Jack: Happy Belated Birthday!
Doug: Happy 5K! We did the Financial Peace budget....so far pretty painless. We needed 2-bottles of wine for the party, bride walked out with 6..."we get 10% off at 6". There goes the food budget.
Brent: Congratulations to Suzie Q!
Greg: Go get 'em!
Buckeye: Great Site!
Jon: Forgot to mention...That flamingo looks right at home! Nice photo.
Patrick: Didn't see your post, but I did see some commentary on it. There are a lot of new folks here. It took me quite a while to feel accepted here, don't despair. Hope to see you back here.
Superbowl party went well...no one went hungry. We did a horseradish rub on the Prime rib, that was outstading! Better than our usual (once a month) haunt. Giz...There's still food and drink in the fridge...I guess that means another Tardis trip here tonight. Blue Moon and Moson, with Root Beer and Mountain Dew, all cold!
Ran trains with friends at halftime! Everything (including accessories) working! Great time! They are planning to build a pole barn fto house his Bride's shop, (she builds cornice boards) and he is planning on building an HO layout in the basement of the house!
Kurt
Forgot something..... Isn't tomorrow, Monday, Ground Hogs Day??? The calender I have says so. If thats the case, do they have much trouble burrowing out of deep snow? And more weather on the way. Hmmmmm
Don
MichRR714 Just made it home from the cabin. Took my snowmobile out to hunting camp to check on things. Did a little snowshoeing into the woods. Looks like the deer and turkeys are really hurting from the deep snow. 23" on the ground in the woods. Nice peaceful weekend. Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the game.

jimtrumpieDon, How do I change text color? Not too much going on today. I fought with a retaining pin in a ZW this morning, and my fingers are very sore. Washed the Sunfire and replaced the rubber shift knob with a leather wrapped knob from a Sunfire GT. I started the Probe and let it idle for a bit since it has been sitting. I have to get it back on the road this summer.

Jim, - To change colors there is a "color palette" on the tool bar above. It is located to the immediate right of the "font size" selector. Simply left click on the palette then select the color you desire. It is best to select the text you want to highlight first, Simply place the cursor at the begining of the text and hold the left mouse key down and drag the cursor over the words you want to change. Release the left mouse button, then move the cursor to the palette and left click, then select the color, and left click. Its done.
Patrick, Hope you do come back you have a lot to add. And don't be concerned about the post you made. I KNOW a lot of other people feel the same way, so the whole subject needed airing, and you provided the catalyst to do it. No harm, No foul.
Jon,His best song was 'Some Gave All' everytime I hear it I tear up. Very tough for me to hear that song.

Jack,
Due to the size and weight of the layout, hoisting probably will not be a good idea. The benchwork is warped due to a flood eight years ago, so I think that this is a good time to build a new layout.
Jim S.,
Sorry to hear about your daughter's job situation.
Brent,
I am glad to hear that Susan got the job. I really like the way your layout is coming together.
Greg,
Good luck with the interview.
Gooe evening all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 40s!!! Snohio is melting all over the place but will probably freeze again tonight. Watched the game, which was better than commercials. Only the Doritos with the old crotch joke was funny. I did like Danica's "enhanced" ad. Went to the YMCA for the whole spectrum of activity. Work will be busy this week. Everybody finally left and we had the house to ourselves. Got a haircut from the "saucy wench". Too late for the Tardis tonight. I had pancakes and sausage again today on the dining car. I hope everyone has a good day.
Good Evening all
Busy afternoon like many others. Went to sons house for turkey dinner. But he and #2 son were going to have a party for the game so we came home. For whatever reason I just wanted the quiet of my couch. Game is almost over unless OT. 45 degrees today melted some snow but we have so much it didn't seem like any at all.
Almost over time for banilla....S.J.

Evening all
It has been a busy day. We had the two services this morning then came home and we had the grandkids. The boy and I busted ice for about 2 ½ hours and he held right with me, great little worker. We then played and ran trains. The girls went with grandma then we all played till time to go home. Grandkids are the reward for having kids!
I am beat. I am glad I am off till Thursday nightshift.
The Pot has been hopping
May God bless.
If I’ve not said it before I appreciate you all
Jim
The game is just background noise while I try to figure out how to do my Hemi Club's website...and I'll second Dennis's assessment of the Boss. As a "former" Jerseyite, I like Bruce's music, but he had become a "liberal" puppet of the Socalist Republic of New Jersey and of the Democratic Party for that matter.
Well, I'm done, see youse giz 2morrow.
Well the game just got a little more intesting since the Cardinals scored. Pretty good game so far. More often than not the SB is boring compared to a lot of regular season games.
I rarely watch half time shows, this evening I watched part of a show about the PBY on the military channel during half time.
Thinking about half time shows I'd like to see, the top one for me would be the band "Chicago". That was the band that I always listened to and have several of the original albums. Nine years ago we were invited to go to a private corporate party in Phoenix (my wife's company) and on the last night at the farewell party the band was Chicago, I was in heaven for the evening. We didn't know who the band would be until the Saturday night dinner, what an evening. That was a fabulous 4 days and nights, I wish she would qualify for another one of those outings.
Chuck-"Achy Breakey Heart", it's a good thing he has a millionaire daughter because he was a horrible one hit wonder. I'd rather hear fingernails on the blackboard or Chief singing
RT, I think I am using the correct etiquette...Don? Anyway, Happy Birthday! Glad the back is feeling better. Regarding footwear, make sure you have some good shoes as they are the source of many troubles......back, leg, etc.
Well, without getting into the whole ignoring thing, I will say that I last posted here yesterday and I see that we are 5 pages past then....impossible for me to keep up as just too much information and if I stay on here too long, my family will have my photo on the back of a milk carton.
Rock Island, I am sorry I didn't answer your question....see above comment. I really missed your posts while you were on sabbatical as you are one of the key posters to bring me up to speed with the rest of the pot....glad you are here. Regarding your questions, the new guy is starting February 23rd. Getting a Georgia medical license is a long, drawn out ordeal, but at least he now has it and he will work out his contract requirements with the group he is with in Florida. Regarding my ribs...no it was not a railing in the choir loft....they don't allow me to sing. I couldn't carry a tune in a paper sack. It was on a railing at the media control booth. tried to hoist my carcass up to grab a just out of reach coat and my bible. Heard a loud crack and felt a "pop" and then lost my breath....rather spectacular as you could see the expressions on the folks around me
Well, I had better get to bed. I start call again tomorrow morning. As it is, I could sleep late, but the guys in my Sunday School class are getting together at 05:45 to have a prayer time and discussion. I hear there is a football game on tonight, but I have missed it. The guys from our class who are watching it will no doubt be a bit tired in the morning. Regarding the "Boss", I grew up in Jersey and used to listen to his music. He became too political and I just don't care to listen to him anymore. Kind of like Streisand, does the same for me. From what I hear, you go to a concert and get about 50/50 music and political speaches.....not worth my time.
May Y'All have a blessed week ahead. Prayers for Greg on the job, congrats to SusieQ, and prayers for SP's daughter.
Dennis

Hopefully, Marty can supply some more video on the woman in red. Other than that, half time was so-so.
Missed the Mr. Mrs. Potatohead commercial. Karen said it was good.
There was the one-second High Life commercial. What I win, What I win?

Jon, I heartily agree about previous halftime shows. I know it will never happen but I would like to see either Brooks & Dunn or Montgomery Gentry and add in Reba McIntyre and Taylor Swift.

Mel, that is hilarious. A friend bought me Bud Light with Lime - I guess the "fruit" would be good for me.
