Mornin' Boys,
26 as we started today @ 0500 and up to 44. And this is FLORIDA? Still don't understand why I'm here . Got 2 "new" flats in the mail, I'll clean 'em up and see what happens. Look pretty good already.
Patrick - yeah, be careful with Fifey...you never know what may happen next with him (inna nice sorta way).
Jim Phish - nice paint job!! WOW!! really like it...you may make me go to S gauge yet...maybe.
Went to get to runnin' trains last night, then got hijacked and baked cookies instead. At least the family was happy. Snookerdoodles and chocolate chip to inquiring minds.
Princess got a part in a play for next month..details later, she has rehersals already and she was just cast...
Exercise? I hope there is a softball team needing a catcher (even though my knees are almost shot)
Don - I SAW that post, and man, they really tried to skewer you. I'm glad Jeb cleared it up, though I'm surprised that Jeff sold the business. He lived in the township next over from where I used to live. Those guys over there are real piranhas.

MIKE C,
Yes there are days that I really hate it. But once I start it takes about 5 minutes and I'm ok. I usually try and get 20 miles now in the winter on the treadmill, boring but better then going out in the cold. At least I have ESPN to watch while running. Not a fast pace just steady. Summertime it goes up to 30 miles a week. Every 2 months I give my body a rest for about a week. I just walk daily then no running. I still push the weights, about 3 times aweek. I feel pretty good but yes there are days that the knees hurt along with all my old injuries I suffered when I was playing. I always remebered what my college football coach said" pace yourself, listen to your body and get up and move, do something every day to get the blood flowing hard."
laz57
Myyyy buddies . What, not enough history for y'all yesterday, you had to bring up the Great Laundry War episode? Am I not human...? Do I not bleed...?
Patrick - Good thing you are a cattle farmer, 'cause a lotta bull goes on in here...<---TONGUE IN CHEEK SYMBOL
Looks like a good time was had by our Michiganders. Pretty cool how we can get together from time-to-time. Still lookin' forward to a round-table in ROANOKE one of these days.
Phish - Like that RB a lot.
Good morning all,
It is supposed to be warming up in SE Indiana, but I will believe it when I see it. Fun ride in the Tardis and a good time was had by all last night. I drove to work today so I left the keys for some one else tonight. Laz57, are there days when you really don't feel like exercising? Last night was one of those nights for me, but I drug my carcass to the YMCA. Did the trackwork and weights, but could not juggle the soccer ball worth a d--n. Legs felt like lead. Wife going to talk to Sears about exchanging washer today. All I see is dollar signs going out the door.... Patrick, you hang around here long enough, you'll catch on to all the sub-meanings that are said :-) Kooljock1, I finished the Lionel Fun Factory. It was a very good book. Who knew a work on factories could be so interesting. I had bran muffins on the dining car for breakfast this morning. The beacon is lit, but it will have to be a late trip as "Lost" startups tonight. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Hi GYZ,
8 here this morning to get to 26? No trains last nite.
STUR FISH, nice ehgine cool color.
JACK, walking is the way to go. Its a start and later when you feel like it put a little jog in there. I started walking then would run for one telephone pole next day two next day three so on and so forth til I ran the whole way. Remember pace yourself and listen to your body. And yes 88 days to go til end of another school year.
CHIEF, 7 inches of snow. Watch that black ice.
Stay FOSTY,
Morning all!
Don: Great idea to take that off line. Glad you found what you were looking for, and high marks for the new owner.
SJ, Charlie: Glad you had a chance to get together! Pics?
Need to take the kiddos out today...cabin fever.
Kurt
Sir James was again a gracious host. Today was a hectic day at the office..so letting off some steam running trains was a great way to end my day. As always I enjoyed the company as well. Looking forward to some warmer weather so I can get SJ over to my place for a couple laps around my layout..

JimSP and SJ = Man, you two have a nice engine there! Right - Tardis is off, Mike's got the controls and I've got the scope. Have to pick up another load of silver iodide and dry ice from Buckeye (shhhhhh).
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Phish, good color match, looks great. I got the knuckle on with some help from Charlie(four hands were better than two) we used a dremel, cut the rivet off, and with a little fumbling we were good to go with the knuckle. thanks for your help. I did it because the Flyer I have is all knuckle and it was the best way to keep everything the same.

Dennis - Like you say, prays for the guys in blue, and all others who keep the resto fo us safe.
SJ - the 350 Royal Blue is one of may favorite engines. Here is a picture of one I refurbished I changed it over to a smoker with the reverse in the tender. The other 350 I have is original
Good night and may God bless
Jim
Well Charlies on his way home, had a great visit and enjoyed his company. He tried out the new GG1 set, and the scale Hudson and the scale Berk. and he ran some Williams. So I guess we did ok for one evening. I saved the banilla for our thingy ride though. So Brutus come on by I am ready...S.J.
Snohio has stopped. Most of the streets and main roads are clear except for wet spots. That is the problem. ICE as it is going to be 16 tonight. School is out due to that and most places work is delayed until 11 or so.
Dennis, the stumble in the oath was caused by the Chief Justice who screwed up the oath.
Now time to sleep. Have a good night and sleep tight. [Pam baked sour cream coffee cake and seafoam candy]

Lawson....Welcome to the pot. I have been unfortunate enough to sit next to fife de dog. Now do this. Put your hand slowly on your wallet pocket. Anything missing? Now take a slow look at your watch. Again?
Well, Mrs. Buckeye again made me ride another train. This time we rode the Grand Canyon Railroad from Williams to the Canyon. What a ride!!! Photos later.

Chuck

Don, I didn't get to see much of the event. Don't know what you are speaking of regarding inauguration. I did see his little mis-speak during the swearing in. Can't imagine the pressure on that one. I will pray for the president. I do not agree with him on most of his agenda from the campaign, but now that he is in the hot seat, I am sure that his decisions will be tempered.
Fife, had a cop get shot tonight. I was handling an emergency case and they notified me of the incident. A drug investigation unit was involved. Cop took one to the shoulder, Perp... Well, he is getting final justice. Cop will be OK. We'll say a prayer for the guys in blue.
Temps ended up in the 40s today. For those in the colder areas, especially with snow and ice....Why don't you just move to where it is warmer?......just kidding, hope you are all safe.
God Bless,Dennis

JimTrumpie - I never got an xbox, instead I got a new laptop about a month later. So, I'm not on xbox live, sorry!
Posted about 100 words earlier and then got a big error message. Glad to see I didn't kill the whole thing?! Tardis is ready - Mike says Come and Get it!

SJ. My doc sent me to visit the Marquis de Sade a couple times a week for a few months. They were extremely good and it really helped, sometimes I would have to ask my wife to help me get dressed, After the physical therapy didn't need her help, maybe that wasn't so good after all.

THANK YOU for calling Jeb, that was the smart thing to do, it seemed to resolve the issue.
A most excellent day of watching inauguration coverage, we should all pray for our new President, his plate is full. He is starting out behind the 8 ball for sure.
Jon
So many roads, so little time.
Don, is Jeb's name Stewart? If so, you had a ghostly conversation and all the Yankees will run for cover.
Thanks for the support guys ! I do really appreciate it !
To summarize, at the other place I just had to put my in regarding the smoke. Then, Jeb replied, and as it turns out he is the new OWNER of Mega Steam. And, had made a few statements regarding his philosophy regarding the company. So I called and talked to him. He seems very genuine, and quite knowledgeable. We talked about scented vs non-scented fluids, viscosity, and residues. He shared with me some of the testing he has done, and especially on new engines and smoke elements. I am much less concerned about a scent additive having a negative affect on the wick. Especially given the amount of additive is utilized in order to obtain the scent. He also emphasized some good tips regarding a new engine. (Making sure that the smoke is turned OFF on initial start up, then adding initial fluid and let the engine set over night, then add approx 5 drops, then operating.) Jeb was quite open and very accomodating, also when asked about the MSDS, it was addressed as well.
So, I don't really have an issue anymore, as it was primarily wraped around lack of answers and information. I was quite impressed with the entire conversation. BTW Jeb is from VA., so there is a lot of southern politiness in place. I am certain he will be successful.
Now that that is all over,
Was surprised with the Inaugaration, and the bo bo's, that's too bad that the sound clip from the first black President will be flawed. Then the Benediction at the end, wow, was that something. Sure doesn't start off with the image I had in mind for this event. Too Bad!
Lawson - Don't be too concerned about Fifey and his tightie whities, (unless you live close), his family usually has them hanging on their fence. I think it all started when he was playing with some sling shots or something. Its all relatively harmless.
Was another beautiful day here, but the clouds are rolling in, and will probably have some change coming real soon.
Later,
Don
Patrick I also say becareful as Fifey has this strange love for W.VA. and he may be confusing your VA. with it. He does have something about bragging about his tighty whiteys and it seems to me he came home one day and they were all strung out across his bushes in the front yard.
Oh becareful if you go thru MD anytime as he may be the one to pull you over.
Evening all supose to get cold tonight but by next weekend we are supose to be in the 60's ( jan 30 & 31st) Whoo hoo I'm for that almost swimming weather there
Always warms up 1st of feb as in VA.Beach they do there artic plunge about then and its always warm for it for some strange reason. This year its 2/7/09

Whatever you do DON'T pull his finger, no matter how many times he asks you to.
Sweet ice tea and grits are both good. Ice tea to drink, grits for filling pot holes. Dr. wants an MRI of my wifes shoulder before he decides what may be wrong beside the arthritis, rotor cup? maybe. Waiting for Charlie to arrive so we can play with the toys for awhile.
Phish, yes a # 350 w/molded on handrails. A very good piece for its age.
Banilla is ready maybe brutus can pick both of us up. S.J.

Afternoon all from Southern Ohio,
Just woke up to 22°F and sunny, and the smell of split pea and lintel soup in the crock pot. Yum! Put out some food and water for the birds, and going to inspect the paint job on the 751 to see if another coat goes on before moving to the next color. The house on top is done and ready to reinstall.
All you guys with snow and not used to it, be careful. The body shops are busy enough right now.
Chief – The good part of staying inside and baking is it helps warm the house, and smells soooo good.
Laz – not counting the days are you?
DJSpanky – glad you are feeling better.
Jon – The idea of walking is a good one. I am not as ambitious and my knees can’t take what Laz does, but the buildings where I work are about the size of four football fields, so I try to take a long walk every day too.
SJ – a 350 Royal Blue?
Patrick – Fife will take good care of you,
Fife – you will take good care of Patrick, won’t you?
Need to get ready to go to work
May God bless

Patrick, if I were you, I wouldn’t sit too close to Fifey.
Sooner, or later, he manages to turn all serious conversations into a discussion about his “tighty-whities”.
