Good night all.  Reclinerized while Pam couchrized.  She is still asleep and does not want to get up.  Will cover her up and leave her.  Lucy in her little pink bed on the floor.  Burg just streached out on the floor.  His bed is in the corner of our bedroom.  He will move there when I go to bed.   Made a quick meal tonight.  Pam and I both got involved.  She dumped in leftover hot dog chilli, Campbell's chilli with beans, Campbell's baked beans and I finely chopped hotdogs into the mix.  Makes a good meal to stick to your ribs.  NOW WARNING, will help power any natural gas appliance. Shock Laugh  It reached 59 degrees this afternoon.  Cold front on the way.  Suppose drop temps but not below frerezing.  Was pleased to hear that it was a balmy 5 degrees in Ioway.  Don't stick your tongue on the flag pole there. Thumbs Down  No popcorn nor ice cream tonight.  Too full.  [did have popcorn at Town Hall for lunch.  do keep a supply of Pop Secret Homestyle there]  Good night.

BTW:lure value dropped as it did not have a special paint drop on the left side. Whistling

S.J. - Sounds like you probably has some ICE on the rails.

John F. - You've got to share a little bit more about the HO layout.  Surprised you didn't convince him to go O scale.  Did your sister get the printer?

Brutus - You did a good job on your thread above describing a lot of my feelings, Thanks!

Doug - I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for the lure bonus.

Sure am glad its Friday!  Have tomorrow off, 1st day in 2 weeks.  Then a 1/2 day Sunday.  Working a lot of hours, but not making anything,  not complaining just tired.  Sure would like to think can retire someday, but not sure.  Heard on radio this morning that home values are down 38% from last year!!  Man, that's really gotta be tough on some people here!  I doubt we have even began to see the foreclosure  volume.  Imagine someone buying a house here since say 2002 for around 500 to 700k, then having payments around 2 or 3k per month.  Then after 4 or 5 years find out your house is worth a couple 100 thousand LESS than when you bought.  And you still have those payments!  Then end up being layed off.  I'm really concerned about a lot of dark days ahead for a lot people.  Sure hope I'm wrong.

Need to go out and play in the train room for awhile I'm having to depressing of a conversation.  BTW stopped in a drug store to find the Glue Dots, will have to try more tomorrow.  Great job Buckeye,

Don

S.J. You would not believe the stringline derailment today, I had 16 tankcars going around one of the wide curves and the rear P/U roller on the caboose got hung-up in a switch. Wasn't quite fast enuff to hit the kill button, kinda funny looking at all them tanks still connected just rolled over on their sides with just the loco & caboose upright.

Black Eye  Dunce

Doug, it didn't happen to be a CSX train, did it?  Just kidding.  have a train show in the morning.  Bride and I will go while the kids are at the Chinese lessons.  Of course, that does only give me two hours, but it is a small show and that should work out.

Thats pretty much what happened here, except it was boxcars and the middle of the train. I have no idea how it happened as I was not watching at the time.Engine was still trying to pull it though.

Evening Dudes & Dudettes !

Anybody heard from Lisa lately ?

Mike & Rich hang tough guys, you've got a bunch of friends in here pulling for ya.

Charlie, condolences for the family, the pain lessens over time.

Long day at the museum today. Dead

Yucky weather, but no ice or snow Thumbs Up, just really overcast and drizzly so attendance was pretty poor.

Good evening

I had a R.R. accident tonite, was letting a train run while I worked on another and I ended up with a 20 boxcar derailment. No damage all is well. Oh I don't know what caused it, put it all back together and off it went. It got above freezing today but no sun to melt the snow so it might be here till april, who knows. Waiting for Brutus, banilla is ready....S.J.

Mitch, inhaler will help.  Brutus, beacon is on - let's go visit Mike. Got my March CTT too. Saving it for the train ride next week.

Just got back from picking up the youngest at a birthday party at a 'chocolate store' - imagine a gaggle of six year olds let loose there - wow!

Evening Folks,

Thought I'd drop in for a quick cup.  It gets harder and harder to keep up.  Life gets too busy, or should I say work gets too busy.

Got my March CTT and my friend Bob's layout was featured in the photo spread. His layout is the photo with the Williams Blue & White B&O. Really a super layout featuring some HO, S and O.

Had to go to Dr yesterday as having trouble breathing, tightness in chest. haven't really felt bad, no fever or cold symptoms.  School nurse had heard wheezing when I exhaled a breath.  Dr. said I have symptoms of asthma, something about bronchial spasms or some such.  Prescribed an inhaler and have to go back next week for recheck.  It is SoapBox getting older.

Prayers to all that need them especially MikeC.  This is a good group of folks.   Try to stop by we enjoy your company.

Take care,

 Mitch

Wow, go to work for a day, get home and the Coffee Pot is full to the brim!  Mike - if you want to, please PM me.  Rich, Ditto.  Charlie, prayers for the family, it's a tough thing to deal with and made tougher by circumstances.  God bless us all as I know there is more pain and stuff going on that people just want to keep inside.  One great thing about all you guys and this Coffee Pot is that there is so much support and fellowship here.  I hope we all can continue to uplift each other for years to come.  Every day I come here to find out how you are all doing and even when I don't remember or think it's important to comment on your posts, I have read them and feel that you are all part of my extended family in a way.  All my little smiles and sad faces and frowns and even a few tears here and there don't show through the screen for you all to see, but these posts all touch me one way or another.  Except for Dave L, the invisible one, of course ;-)  Ah, he made me smile anyway.  Seriously, prayers for us all guys.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Good evening, It's been a few days since I posted here, been real busy.  Grandson called last evening and told me he has the day off tomorrow so we will be working on his HO layout.

Yesterday I helped my sister with her computer problems, think everything is OK now.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Had to take advantage of the warmer weather today and wash the salt off the car.  Almost forgot what the real color was.

The avatar requirements on the other forum have been questioned a few times but the rule is it must be a picture of poster.

Thought about going to the OTTS meeting tonight but decided to stay home.

Almost forgot, received my CTT today too.  Haven't looked at it yet.

Dennis and Rich - If you (and I doubt you did) or anyone else in the forum voted for Obama, my question is What did you expect he would do to Health Care? End of my rant.

cnw1995 - Thanks for looking for PIXAXE Information. I will keep looking.

By the way all,  I joined "the other" form with the same Avatar I use here, and they deleted it because it wasn't my picture. What is up with that?

Just this little tid bit from the News Pages of Yahoo....You can call your service companies and request lower bills.  One guy they interviewed called AT&T and was able to get more than $50 per month off his bill, without any change in service.  Also, another customer did the same thing with cable and DSL service.   Y'all may want to check, can't hurt.

Had a co-worker from Great Britain a few years back and he said the same thing.  I hoped for better from this admisitration, but as it is, we'll kill our own people with socialistic medicine and let loose the terrorists.

Just got my CTT and conga's to out own Buckeye for the great suggestion. Cheers to you Buckeye!!!

Time for basketball game and whatever else, I'll keep smilin' and hope you all will too. Besides, makes people wonder what you're up to....

Well, it didn't take them long....  Just found out that hidden in the next "Bailout" plan, they have allocated $600 million dollars for the "preparations for Universal Health Care Discussions".  and they aren't even gonna kiss us.  Actually, once socialized medicine is here, I'll be getting a break.  No more call...if you have your heart attack at night, or on the weekend, better hope you survive till monday when I come in to work.  Also, instead of having to work long hours, folks will be put on a waiting list, we do X number of cases a day.  If it takes you several months for your surgery, good luck.  One of our guys trained in London for awhile.  Had a gentleman come in with a abdominal aortic aneurysm.  He could have easily been healed with emergent surgery, but the administrator said that the patient was over 70 years old and we don't operate on them.  We will send him home with some medicine.....boy, I can't wait!  Of course the ethical side of me screams out that this just isn't right.SoapBox

Sorry for my diatribe.  Looks like we will be forced to re-evaluate our thoughts on the value of a life.

What a Great bunch of fellows on this coffee Pot.  Prayers to Rich, Mike and Charlie, stick with the Guys here on the Pot, I find that you can count on them when things are tuff.

[A little questionable when it come to Yankees]

Chief:  Went by Enola yard today and there were many flats with John Deer tractors. I wonder where all of this equipment is going, last week there were many flats with blue and white tractors on them don't know the make of these.

[John Deeres coming to NC]  [New Holland/Ford going to the Yanks as they are Yankee blue]  BTW: I think New Holland and Ford are one company now.

Hang in there.

Thanks for all of the support.  As my wifes Grandmother was Canadian and was here staying in the US, We've had to jump through some hoops today to get her body back over to Canada.  Finally got everything cleared with the Medical Examiner and Customs.  Funeral will be on Tuesday..visitation Sunday and Monday.    Again thanks for all the support.

Lew, have to agree with you on the great people here on the Pot.  As to the blue and white tractors, probably either New Holland or Ford.  Funny, tractor owners are like train folks.  Either you like John Deer Green, or New Holland, Ford, Kubota, etc.

Good Morning,

Warming up for the weekend! Might see 70 for a daytime high on saturday. Yesterday if I sent anyone some orange juice it would have been frozen any place outside or at least it felt that way. I live in south Florida(West Palm Beach, currently half frozen) and should be able to go to the beach without having to bring along jackets even in January. Anjdevil2, I hope you are getting some warmer weather up there in Jacksonville.

Have to get up early tomorrow for train show, got my cash ready for tomorrow. got some stuff together to sell and got some older Gargraves track cut off even at the ends and put pins in the ends, maybe it will sell.

Good to see all the support here.  Makes my heart feel warm.  Rich, we ALL have a lot of influence with the Maker.  By believing and using the name Jesus, we are all sons of the "Maker".  Can't have anymore influence than that.

Morning all. Grey today - Long commute in after the train ahead hit someone running across the tracks...  I don't get it - a little late for work versus dead.

Hang in there, Rich - prayers for you and Mike C and Charlie. I've also found some wonderful solace from fellow forumites.

 Mike,

You're an important contributor here, and I hope you are able to continue!

We all have had our little tribulations, and finding the right words to offer someone is always difficult.  I received the following in an email from my wife, and have been saving it.

Sometimes we wonder, "What did I do to deserve this?" or "Why did God have to do this to me?" Here is a wonderful explanation! A daughter is telling her Mother how everything is going wrong, she's failing algebra, her boyfriend broke up with her and her best friend is moving away.
Meanwhile, her Mother is baking a cake and asks her daughter if she would like a snack, and the  daughter says, "Absolutely Mom, I love your cake."
"Here, have some cooking oil, " her Mother offers.

"Yuck" says her daughter.
"How about
"a ! couple raw eggs?"

"Gross, Mom!

"Would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking soda?" "Mom, those are all yucky!"
To which the mother replies: "Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves. But when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake!

God works the same way. Many times we wonder why He would let us go through such bad and difficult times. But God knows that when He puts these things all in His order, they always work for good! We just have to trust Him and, eventually, they will all make something wonderful!
God is crazy about you.  He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise Every morning.
Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen. He can live anywhere in the universe, and He chose your heart

I hope that maybe this may have helped you as it has me.

Good Morning

Prayers to many this morning, and I can tell Dennis is writing with a heavy heart too. If I start with names I will miss someone so my prayer is for all in need.

Overcast in the 20s, going to 30 something, but they said that yesterday and it never happened. Doesn't matter much as temp is taking a dive tonite. I think  a little training this morning and out to a afternoon meal might cover most of my usefull day.  S.J.

Good Morning from beautiful Southern Ohio,

It is a sunny 32°F to get to the mid 40’s today.  Nice day to be off.  I did get the cars washed yesterday.  I will sweep them out today.  I also got the 751 painted yesterday (Thanks RT)  I baked it overnight in the drying booth.  After un-masking we shall see how it turned out.  I may reassemble it today.

We don’t have praire dogs but we do have ground hogs, little bigger target.  We used to go to the dump and shoot rats.  Never ran out of targets.

Mike C – If you ever want to “talk” we are here.

Charlie – Prayers for your bride and her mom and all who loved and will miss her

Rich – He will bring you to it; He will bring you through it just ask then listen.

Chief – on the rare lure, I would tell the person, and offer him half and you both are in better shape than you were before, and no reason for hard feelings on either part.

Dennis – My copy of the DVD is in at Praises bookstore and I am going to pick it up today

Chuck – Good news on the leg.

Buckeye – TGIF

Laz- TGIF, still prayin’ for your bro

May God bless

Jim
