 Morning Folks,

Thought I'd stop in and say hello.  Kind of a slow day around here which is good.  Son and GF came for the weekend.  Going out for dinner with them this evening to celebrate my birthday.  Economy here is sluggish and getting slower in the last month or so. Locally Harley Davidson is laying off 400 or so folks and local cabinet manufacturer is closing down putting another 400 out of work, and there have been lots of other layoffs too.  I do hope something good comes from the stimulus plans they have been talking about.

Fifey - Loved that photo...Smile,Wink, & Grin

Take care,

Mitch

Buckeye is right! Happy B-Day Mitch!  Took the middle boy out to lunch and to his favorite place: Guitar Center. The bride and daughter are going out to try Wii Fit at someone's house - so I'm finishing laundry and cooking dinner. Hey, where'd my train time go?  Wink

Happy Birthday Mitch!!Happy B-Day

Worked on a couple of G scale engines and now working perfectly

Also had a K-Line GP38 and a K-Line GG1 come in.  the GG! was rammed into a wall, bent the coupler and shorted out on the axle, fixed 'er up good as new, GP38 had some debris in the gearing free'd it up and off it went both Conrail Blue.

I'm going to start packing up the Polar Express, need to make room for mor inventory anyway, so maybe this is a good start.  Ahhhh, more drama....Banged Head

Pictures on SPF tomorrow, Macys NYC layout and a little sumpin sumpin from .... why it's from OHIO!!!  Imagine that...

See inna while!

Untangled the MTH tinplate semaphore that wasn't working. Going to set it up off the layout so I can retrace every wire from lock-on to this TAD thing to the semaphore itself.

Good afternoon all, rain here today in sunny Southern California.  I went to the TCA Western Divlision monthly meeting today in Arcadia and attendance was good in spite of the rain.  The usual suspects were sellers plus a couple of new ones.  Lots of things for sale but nothing I needed.   Best buy looked like a Lionel red #8 standard gauge engine that went for $100 in good condition.  Only thing I got was three Kodak Carousel trays for total of $5.  I guy sold a whole table full of stuff to the highest bidder which went for $10 and I bought the Kodak stuff from the high bidder.  One guy had a whole table full of fairly new Lionel and other make trains in original boxes but did not sell anything I saw.  He put it all in the auction at the end of the meet but had to pass on account of no interest.  One example were three pairs of like new Lionel 027 powered switches in their original boxes with all paper work complete. Very nice indeed but he only got a one or two dollar bid.  That was an insult.  He passed on selling anything else due to lack of interest.  Is this a sign of the times or what?  On the other hand I saw from auction results on the internet that a Williams like new boxed SP Daylight GS4 brass steam engine went for $575.  That gives me some hope for the one I have which I would part with if I can find it a good home.  I replaced mine with a MTH newer model.  It's getting late here so I think I will go out to my layout in the garage for a while before it gets too cold and exercise the trains a llittle bit.

HI GYZ,

Happy Birthday MITCH!!!!!!  Hope you have a GREAT ONE?  Run some trains!

Well GIZ, I worked some more on the mining part of the layout.  I hooked up the Lionel coal loader the one where you dump the coal into the bin then you push the lever and it travels up to store it, then you come back you can load it in one opening of the shoot.  Also put two unloading tracks in where I can unload a kinds o cars.  Wood, coal, boards.  Looks Kinda cool.  I'll try and get some pics for SPF?

All quiet here in Millersburg, Pa.

Gotta go and run trains now.

Stay Frosty,

Got a new smoking UP [yellow] caboose to go with my Big Boy from Miss Edna's.  Went for a walk with Lucy in the park.  7 deer gave her a charge.  She jerked me on her leash.  Think she would still be chasing them if I had let her go.  She is a real hunter.  She could smell then 50 yards away.  They were near the new feeding station I have in the park.  Then we hit Smithfield BBQ for two BBQ and slaw sandwiches and fries.  I got a big sweet ice tea.  Hit Wallymart on the way back.  Now watching Clint on TV [Halmark Channel].  Later.

Evening all!

Buckeye:  Great photo show!  Pretty cool having Wierd Al riding with you.  Beautiful scenery.

Brutus:  I'm in tonight!

Went to new to me hobby shop with neighbor today...Nice shop, for plastic models, some trains, big cash.  No bargains here.  Nice to spend some time with him without the kids for a change.

Wired up a few additional 3-button UCS switches today.  I can uncouple the coil couplers with just the ground button, and the milk cans are slinging out at 11 volts!

Pork shoulder rubbed since this am, will put in crock pot tonight for lunch tomorrow.  Sister and BiL stopping in!

Just a quick howdy, sunny but cold all day, stayed in and ran some trains for awhile. No wrecks today, GG1 has worked it's way up to six madison type cars and one baggage. I'm not sure I like the rubber tires, don't have to replace a Magnatraction wheel very often. It has both.

Happy B-DayMitch

good evening everyone!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY MITCH!!!!!!!!!!

Celebration at the library was nice.  Amazing how many folks showed up for that.  Then, we had some guests over who had also adopted from China.  Guy is very computer savy.....needless to say, he got things straightened out regarding the iPod Touch.  I now have about 250 songs on it.  Currently listening to Dean Martin "San Francisco".

Well, heading to bed.  Rib is killing me.  Hurts when I breathe, but man, when I cough, OUCH!

God Bless,
Dennis

HI GYZ,

Big nite here in MILLERSBURG, PA.  At about 815 this evening just outside my house, a big wreck.  I live on a rural route and a one car accident happened.  No one hurt but the driver hit my neighbors brick mailbox went up my bank and ended facing the wrong direction on his roof.  I was down playing trains and wife came down and told me.  Got there at the scene and driver was already out, I checked to see if anyone else was in and no one was, thank GOD.  Was an older SUV but now its scrap.  I had to direct traffic til the FD got there.  Kinda exciting here tonite.  After FD came went back in and ran trains NO PILE UPs.

BRUTUS, yep I'll go see MIKE C. too, pick me up I need a beer.

laz57

Had a great time, Laz - glad you came along after all that action at home!  Talk about a Pile Up!  That guy must have been hauling to flip over like that!

Finally caught up on everything - HAPPY BIRTHDAY MITCH!  Hope you had a good one!

Banilla sounds good!  Sorry to miss our chat, SJ!  Where's RT?  Hope he got some OT for more train money!  Went out to Chili's with friends then they picked up a German Chocolate Cake and came over to our house for cards and cake.  Had a couple cold Landsharks - keep thinking of the old Chevy Chase skit on SNL!  Man that was a funny show years ago!  Laz, I'll throw a few in the cooler for the trip tonight if you are still up?  Kurt can drive, he was first in I think?  TTFN!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
