Alright, I'm in for pulled porked sammiches and banilla! School is already cancelled for tomorrow and it's my turn to stay home, so I'll be hanging with the kids. Daughter is getting over a cold, so no playing outside for her tomorrow. Snow and sleet and a little freezing rain, but it was 10 degrees windchill, 19 regular, so it must have been one of those warm things from LA coming up the river earlier keeping it from being snow? This happens to us a lot. Light, fluffy snow now - that's okay, we know how to move that stuff around here! I might put the first load in the Tardis in a little while and do a trial dump over that lake house Buckeye sent me directions for
SP - never had Rock and Rye but I have heard that song, a long time ago? Also, I think they were drinking Whiskey and Rye the day the Music Died, right?
Feeling 100 percent better today, guess it was a bug. Thanks for all the good wishes guys.
Laz - Snake Plissken is an outstanding character! They filmed that movie here in St. Louis back in the day before they did so much renovation and demolition. That fight with the board/nail in the head was filmed in the old Union Station, before they cleaned it up and turned it into a shopping center. It's about 200 feet from where I work, lol! I had a friend I worked with back then who hired on as an extra and is supposedly in the background in some scene popping up out of a sewer. Also, a lot of the guards from the old Defense Mapping facility where my Dad worked were in that movie as extras too. Addrienne Barbeau was super hot in that movie!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Good evening all,
It is snowing in SE Indiana. First of all, I am overwhelmed by the support. I have received many e-mails and I just read the last ten pages of the pot. Thank you. It will be a long time before I know for sure what my situation is. Fortunately today was a very good day, and you can't keep a good Irishman down forever :-) (or even a bad one, for that matter). Thank you again for the support. I had the usual fare on the dining car this morning. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Mike, glad to see you sir!
Brutus: Looks like Mike's door might be open....Let's make a stop!
SSSSssssshhhhhh....Be vewry vewry quite........huhuhuhuhuhuhhuh....
Good to see you stopping by Mike. After reading ten pages you had better get a "Super Big Gulp" from the pot I'm sure you'll need it.

We'll bring some banilla, that will help! Kurt - you are on!
Good Evnin', Ya'll, from Frigid Taxachusetts,
Seems like all you guys from points West of here are sending me another 6"-12" of snow on top of our single digit temperatures, flakes beginning Wednesday AM. Time to get more gas for the snowblower. At least it will take care of all the yellow snow created by the the puppy whose squirter is really cranking it out.
MikeC......if you pull out of posting on the Pot, we will all take a road trip, camp out on your front lawn, and embarrass the cr_p out of you in front of your neighbors until you surrender. Cleaning up the empty beer cans will take you 6 months. The sun always comes up tomorrow.
Brutus......glad you are feeling better but not so glad the little ones got your crud.
DougDG......my Ariens snowblower WILL shoot the doggie doo doo into the neighbor's yard!
Mitch.....belated . I was sorry to hear about your wife's Grandma. Prayers, brother.
Chief......had to laugh about what happens when women named Pam get puppies. I am the one getting up at 3AM when Maximus decides he needs to tap a kidney. Standing on my deck in -4 degrees in my pajamas waiting for the dog to do his thing is not my idea of fun, though it has brought my singing voice up a few octaves. Keep up the Reb Razz re the Northern weather and your likely to receive one of those dry ice cold packs filled with yellow snow, fresh from Taxachusetts. I'll even throw in some of the #2 product for good measure.
Rich/anjdevil......hang in there. Prayers.
Don......liked that perspective you posted on the BIG GUY and life's challenges.
Dennis.......I totally disagree with you and your position on socialized medicine. It works perfectly fine in other countries......until folks get really sick. Desperate folks that can afford it come here. The rest are SOL, and I've got relatives in the UK with the horror stories to prove it. Queing for major surgery is the norm. If the good ole US of A could reform our jurisprudence system that currently makes it fair play to sue for any and everything (without consequence), if we went to a single payor system, and if the capital equipment was utilized 24/7, we'd see a drop in insurance costs. Treatment protocols that sometimes are as much administrative-driven CYA as they are true treatment necessities would be yanked from the process and reduce costs further. And the Docs wouldn't have to work 3 months a year just to pay for their malpractice insurance premiums. On the topic of SLR cameras, what Nikon bodies do you have? I've got an FTN and an F2.
SirJames......sorry to hear about your SIL. I've been in your shoes. But this too shall pass, one way or another. It angers me that a trillion dollars is being thrown at our economic mess, orchestrated by many of the knuckleheads who got us into it, with inadequate independent third party monitored checks and balances as to how the money is spent.
Laz and DougM.......I was looking at Chuck's avatar and he looks just like Jake Plissken without the eyepatch.
Jon.......the economic mess has been a shot in the arm for the downhill ski venues closer to my neck of the woods where folks can drive to the slopes, get in a day of skiing, and return home without an overnight.
Greg.......I'm with you. We need to live long enough to torture our kids for an extra decade or two.
Later Gang,
Jack
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
Wow, Mike is back. We really don't care about him, we just love the words from th sausy winch.
Jon, you did not read me right. The folks were from Ohizo and did not want to move back. The contractor he was working for is taking all the funds for rebuilding power stations in Ioway and blowing the funds while not fixing them. We definitely do not want you in NC. Got too many pig farmers as it is.
Ribbon cutting and Town Board was great. Did not actully get to eat dinner until 10:30. Watched the news and then the back side of my eyelids. Off to bed.
Let is snow on Ohizo and PA, let it snow.

Good Morning from Snowy Southern Ohio
We got about 4 inches of dry snow last night. It took just over an hour to get to work. Nasty roads. Thanks be to God and prayers for safe travels for those who need to get out.
May God bless
Jim
HI GYZ,
Well its 22 here today and we a in for a little sno-hi-o tomorrow? Bout time! Can't wait to shovel and snow blow.
MIKE C. , glad you're back.
BRUTUS, WOW, and I thought it was filmed in NY. Yep, you are right it was Addrian Barbieu, got her mixed up? Nice outfit she wore.
Stay Frosty,
laz57
OK then, no need to stop in Roseyville on world's greatest road trip tour. That was easy
Jon
So many roads, so little time.
Welcome back Mike and always good to see Jack/RockIsland....!!!
Looks like a real foggy morning, up to about 68 and someone had a big accident by the airport, fortunately nowhere near me. Of course the Princess was late this AM, still made it to school on time. Her foot is better, she's learning her lines for the play and doing her homework...so far so good.
Looks like my departure from the house is imminent. No worries. I've found a couple of 2/2 apts. that I can just about afford. Trains definitly on the plans, be it in my Master Bedroom or the living area. Just need sometime to accumilate the downpayment. I'm bringing my 2 cats and the Princess and the pet fee is like $350-400, depending on where I go. Thanks for the prayers and support, guys. I won't be leaving here anytime soon and this is for the best. Just a separation for now, I expect it to be ammicable. It's a bad time for all involved....but God has shown the way and I understand it. It's all good and I accept what's going on.
Time for work, and decide where to live, just wish I could get a place to buy. I hate renting.
Cheers, my friends!!! We'll talk later and more about trains!!!!
I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.I am the venom in your skin --- Breaking Benjamin
Mornin' boys. Mornin' English. SNOHIZO - SCHOOLS CLOSED - GET BACK TO BED! S'posed to be icy for me to work in this evening.
Good to see that the sun came up over Indiana...
Finished my new Meyersdale Station yesterday. Needs some rr ties around it's foundation to fit the slope it rests on. Those ATLAS structure kits are nice.
anjdevil - I'd let you stay here but I'm severely allergic to cats...

Morning from Town Hall. Got meeting with developer. Then going to Mom's down east. Later.
Morning all. Spent the evening battling the middle boy over doing homework. All ended well. I think. A balmy 14 here. No snow except forecast for late tonight - right in time for when I get out of class. Glad to 'see' everyone! Can't wait to read my CTT on the milk-run home (every stop - 2 hours) Praying for Rich and Mike as things work out.

Unless you work for the state of California where instead of a paycheck you mite end up getting an I.O.U.
It is with deep concern and confusion that I post this.
While I was examining the insides of my eyelids, my wife went out in 11 degree weather last night and shovelled some of the snow off our deck. In over three decades she has spent a grand total of about 34 seconds shovelling snow, and an equal amount of time cleaning snow and ice off the cars.
What conclusion am I to draw from this strange behavior? My suspicion is that there has been a purchase of which I am unaware.
Waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Jack, She probably just wanted to make sure that YOUR new doghouse would be relatively level so you could sleep well. What did you do now ?
Doug & Don--
I've been following some of the dire economic news coming out of CA, UFF DA. Is there anything that can be done besides raising your taxes even higher? I just can't imagine how your state government can deal with this.
Good morning all,
We have about 6 inches of snohio in SE Indiana this morning, and more is on the way. I took a personal day as I did want to fight that stuff on the way up AND back. Went to the YMCA and did the usual routine last night. New washer and dryer are being delivered this afternoon. The "saucy wench" absolutely hated the other ones and I did not want to live 25 years with her complaining about it. She tried another brand and liked those so they will be here today. She is fighting a bad cough and trying not to infect me. I should go back to work tomorrow as the snow will taper off tomorrow morning (so the clouds do not slam shut!). Jack, you have an interesting way of encouraging people to participate in the forum. Anjdevil2, sorry to hear of your new living status. Hope things improve. Chief, it is nice to hear what is truly valued on the pot. Brutus, the beacon will be lit for tonight. A little snow will not slow down the Tardis! I had bacon and biscuits on the dining car this morning for breakfast. I hope everyone has a good day.

Jon, If I put it in layman's terms as to what I'd like to do there would be some people getting their skivvies in a major bunch and get the "pot" locked forever. So I'll just say that the legislature as well as the governator haven't learned YET that you can't spend more than you earn. Hhmmm, kinda like the feds as well. Oh, foolish me, I forgot that the Feds can just print more money.

YES, I have been thinking, and I have the solution.......
Since the state is going broke, let it file Bankruptcy, (then all contracts are negated and void, including labor and state employees) Then instead of going into foreclosure.....
Simply sell the entire state to Nevada and Arizona!!
We already have the casinos, and then there are plenty of other remedies for revenue available. We eliminate all government here and just use theirs. (Could even transfer the correctional system to Arizona, and give Arizona coastal access.)
Don
This was a duplicate post from above, why? I don't know. (Chief has one on next page). So the system will not let me delete it. So I will just change it!
Took the wife in for "THE" test today. Needless to say she hasn't been too happy about that, been a concern for her for about a week. But, it seems that the prep is a lot easier. Didn't have to drink the chalk milk, etc., just had to take a lot of pills yesterday. So she's home resting.
Since I took her, I tied up all the office phones to each other, its a lot easier to explain a Looong busy signal, than noone answering. (We have a answersing maching, but our 800 number is ONE digit off from the Embark Service Line, in Tennesse, and Kentucky. So we get a lot of phone calls..... "Dis here phone don't work, send sumone." I end up paying for the call, and they think someone is doing something about their phone problem.)
Anyway, test went fine. So back to the office to make up for lost time.
Last person out of Cali check the faucets, shut off the oven and turn off the lights, k? Thanks!

State of CA must have shut off your phone service. Office line has been busy all day. BTW: my bid is $5 for the whole state.
Rock, I thnk whe wanted the new dog[s] to poop without getting its [their] feet in the snow.
At Town Hall and getting ready for big Chamber dinner [free]. Got back from Mom's about an hour ago.
Mike, my wife is sick with it too. Lots of folks around Roseyville are sick with it. Trying to avoid. Since burning candle at boh ends this week, subject to catch it.
Feeling for those who are getting freeezing rain and now power and trees falling.
Gone to eat [next door in our new Rec building].
