Jack,

What post office was it? I need to update my info, I live near WPB airport.

I have seen a couple of brown foxes on my property in the last week, maybe the rain brings them out. I won't shoot them or feed them, don't want the sherriff's deputy after me, the deputy comes to see my neighbor a few times a month.

Note to self:  Using chainsaw and felling trees when it is 60 degrees is fun.  Using chainsaw and felling trees when it is 98 is NUTS!  Well, that is one thing out of the way, but I am done!  That about wore my tail out.

EDW, thanks for the information regarding the patent.  I will do a search and proposal.

Did some more layout work last night and am well on my way.  Don, I had thought about how great it would be to get someone with your talents to help on the layout....then I read your post of all the "progress" you made....forget about it!  It certainly does sound like Murphy got ahold of you.  Good luck.

Chief, in case I miss it, I wanted to be amoung the first to wish you a Happy Birthday tomorrow!  Hope you have a special day and that all the problems are small ones.

Well, it was an interesting day.  Not getting too much into things, but after my case, I had to have a little "Talk" with someone.  Not a nice one either.  Ethically, we need to correct folks who are heading down a bad path before they cause harm to someone.  I have had to do it in the past and it is never fun.  We shall see.  I hope this worked.  I won't stand by and let someone give less than the best care.

On a warm and fuzzy note, the bride took the son to swimming lessons tonight and I have the daughter at home.  My job is to cook dinner on the grill.  Got to play "Lego Starwars" on the Wii program with son this afternoon, that was fun.  Not much else to report.
Hope everyone has a blessed day.

Dennis

Anyway it started raining about an hour ago, coming from Doug's direction. Nothing bad, just some rain. Spent a lot of today in bed, headache since the throat thing, won't go away. I think its sinus. So without any Breaking News I shall depart for now.......S.J.

There goes the neighborhood.  The way up yander Yank is back. Shock [:O]

Well, birthday celebration is going to be at the Legislature all day. Banged Head [banghead]  Will not be home in time for wife to take me to dinner [if I stay for reception]. Sigh [sigh]

The Mom thing is a hoot.  She is doing better since she met lady.  I'm not.  She charges twice the going rate for that area and watches the clock.  She wil probably be temporary.

Tired.  Got in after 7 PM and had pick squash, feed birds, fish and deer [deer after dark and they were waiting].  BTW: knocked one squirrel off of fence this AM but he ran off.  Win some and lose some.  Now to rest some and then hit the sack.  Think it is microwave popcorn time.  Only had one double cheese burger since breakfast.  Think I can handle popcorn [also have two boxes of Klondike bars in freeser, on sale again Whistling [:-^]].

Good night.

Hello Gentlemen:

Glad to hear RI Jack had a great vacation.  We took our son to Disney last December and it was a blast (other than the flare-ups with my back)

I have to start carrying a portable digital camera with me.  My son has really started to enjoy riding his two wheel bike (with training wheels) and we have been going around the block, me on foot since I am still under doctor's orders while little John rides pedals.  One of our routes takes us right along the BNSF triple tracked line and we usually have the pleasure of seeing at least one freight train and several commuter trains.  We both get a kick out of seeing the trains and I would like to share.  Obviously BNSF dominates but occassionally we will see UP, CSX and even an occassional NS.

Regards,

John

fifedog....I haven't invited him for the last four years and he always shows up.  I got a good deal on hog jowels, pickled pigs feet, gizzards and opposum for this year's blow out.  The shine is almost done and you know how much he enjoys that part of the party.

Another hot one here. Lot's o work going on here - its just not by the contractors. They are tearing things out faster than they are going back in. Why am I not surprised?

Got lots to do, cooking up lot o' grits for the BIG DAY tomorrow!

Talking about big day tomorrow - last day of school here! Man was I ready for this year to be over!

Doug - daughter passed all her state requirments to graduate next year. They do these tests in the Junior year so one has a year to make it up if they do not pass the standard tests. This does not get her out of her senior year - she just does not have to take the state tests again (it also does not mean she can't foul up next year).

Son passed all his tests for moving into high school next year. Also did very well on his percussion audition and will make the drumline on "quads" (those four drum units they march with) which is precisely what he wanted - so he is thrilled. If he keeps this up he will make the varsity drumline which is another goal.

Mike C - that is good news on the scholarship!

Interesting to note we have been doing this forum for enough years that we see significant progress of our children through school and to the point they will be leaving home (...yes... - was that rude???).

Hope everyone is having a great evening and hope for a good day tomorrow for all.

That is an interesting observation about our growing kids, Roy. Glad about both your kids - especially your son with his drums. Time sure seems to go fast - this fall, all of 'em will be in the school at the same time - from kindergarten to senior year of high school - LOL. Have to try some of Jack's bargaining ideas. I am fortunate to have so many of you who have 'gone before' me in this. Only one week until a certain court date.

Doug - it's the washer, not the dryer L  Did some shopping on the way home from work and found a GE one that my wife liked.  Well, "talked" on email to Sir James 1 and he told me to check, ‘cause GE is selling or spinning off appliances?  So, did a search and read reviews and found a whirlpool with all but one feature we liked for $50 less here in town.  I'll pick it up on the way home tomorrow I guess.  Slide off truck into house, then tip old one onto truck and just drive around with it for 2 days until trash day.  Drop off at curb on trash day and I'm done.  Will prob cost me an extra couple dollars for gas carrying it around, but worth it to save my back, LOL.  I don't really blame you, just kidding!  I know you know that, though.  Good news on Lil' Squirt!

Jack - did that Disney World thing for 2 days this year and kids walked me till I was worn out.  Now, my wife says that trip didn't count (room was paid for by my job) and we need to go again next year?!  D'oh!

Sir James already hit the hay, I can hear his snoring from here!  Doug, I'm waiting for Laz to bring it back, he said something about tuning it up and maybe planing the doors so they don't stick in the rain?  Maybe we can pick up 88 and get a fresh coat of paint too?  Kurt (So glad you are feeling better and prayers for wife!) may be up for a ride?  I'll flash the  beacon and see if we're ready to go!  Hey, I heard about some nice icecream bars we could pick up for free from an old deep freeze on a porch in NC?  Then maybe shoot down to Dennis' house and cool him off?  Roy too?  Also want to check out Fife's and Buckeyes preparations for the big showdown tomorrow?  I think that's what he called it?  Oh, Don - I'll drop off the sonic screwdriver so you can fix that Big Boy!

Laugh [(-D]

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

Happy B-Day [bday]Happy Birthday, Chief Happy B-Day [bday]

I hope you like the gift, I sent you..( Ohio Central Beep )

It is raining. 66 degrees. Big thunderstorms all night. Rain all day today. Going up to 80.

Today should be a fun day. Yuk. I have to drive to Cambridge and do the weekly grocery shopping. Gas is at 4 bucks a gallon. Nothing like doing a nasty job in the rain. At least, it isn't snow. They are now calling for a possible flooding of highways. I need to run trains. LOL

Dining car has splashed in and it's time for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Wednesday.

Good morning all,

There is an old saying about the weather concerning the wind blowing and something else blowing and then there was you.  Based on the amount of the above mentioned activity in SE Indiana last night, it must have been honor of the Chief's birthday lol!  Seriously on both counts, it was very stormy and rainy last night and this morning in SE Indiana and temps will be in the 70s and 80s today.  Also, Happy Birthday to the Chief!  To answer Wes, some one did bring in bagels today at work so may be it was in honor of the day.  Weather permitting, I will have my first game with the kids tonight.  Roy and Doug M, your comments about the kids were dead on.  I did go to the YMCA to do weights last night and took care of some banking.  I had a little different toast with the cereal on the dining car this morning.  I hope everyone (especially the Chief) has a good day today.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Happy Birthday Chief!Happy B-Day [bday] Don't listen to what those guys are saying, you don't look a day over 80!  In honor of this momentous occasion, I made a plate of chocolate Chip cookies.....and then we all ate them.  Hope you have a great day!

Brent, I have had the Reese's Klondike Bars, they are good!  Most I did was two in a day.  Wife left me alone.  Kids know better than to touch MY icecream.Pirate [oX)]

Well, it looks like a relatively quiet day here today.  Hope to get some projects taken care of.  Wife has asked me to drop some bags of clothes off at the Salvation Army.  This area is the 9th poorest congressional district in the country, so it will all get used.

Hope everyone has a blessed day.

A Happy Birthday to our honorable(?) Elder Statesman...Whistling [:-^]

(You may include here, if you desire, the Fog Horn Leghorn audio...Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg])

Well, the sale is over, and out of 100 we sold 16.  Not great, but it helps the ol' wallet.  Did the sale, prepped and readied 35 cars in a week and then closed out May bills on Monday...geez, I need a vacation.  Was supposed to have our first softball game, and was rained out.  Been very stormy the last few days, very bad t-storms wind and hail.  Supposed to happen again today.  Atypical Florida weather for SUMMER!.

My little one (16!) is on half days now, summer break starts at noon Friday.  And with any luck, we'll be moving her on to 10th grade.  GEEEZ what a struggle.  and youse giz wid KIDS know what I'm talking about!!!

Jack & John welcome back, and yeah, I gotta check those posters again.  The FBI said they wouldn't find me here, I guess they did....and I too have done my time at Universal, Disney, et al.  I'd rather just go to Cruise Night at Old Town in Kissimmee and call it a weekend (www.old-town.com) and there is a Motel right accross the street (why are my Italics on?)
Sir J & Don B, also Miss Pam, get well cards are "in the mail".
Cleaned up the train room angain and cleaned up my Dad's 1666 and that's looking really good.  May do the tender Sunday after moving more stuff from the apartment.
Talk to ya later,

A BIG Happy B-Day [bday]MORNING To The CHIEF

To celebrate: instant grits to all.

We had a nice rain yesterday evening, glad we did not get the storms some of you received. My wife is going to the local school today for the kids day "out". they play games have snacks, ect.,end of school year is near. If they would cut down the days off, school could be done by now. Way way back in the old days we were out by memorial day. I may run some trains today or read a little more of CTT,just have to go with the flow.

Brutus, leave the washer in the back of the truck, good for winter traction.

Well Chief HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Medicare will soon be coming for you.    S.J.
