A Good Sunday Morning to All
Sun was out when I got the paper and coffee this morning, but for now at least,we went to overcast. 70s today, just right for me. It appears most everyone is in good spirits this morning which is good. Best wish's to those ailing and healing.
I could not help but notice that right after the Chief signed up for SS he began to take longer naps. I'm not going to be the one that tells him, it goes with the deal, and as time moves forward it becomes mandatory. Someone else can tell him. Well I'm just going to sit back and see what the day brings, so enjoy Sunday and stay well,,,,,S.J.

Hope you have a good day there, Sir James. That banilla and rootbeer really hit the spot! I'll run back tonight and pick up Don too, so he didn't miss out
Good morning - there is a bright light outside that I seem to recall seeing before? Need to check the forecast. Will make a run to Lowes and/or HD today for more drywall and plan to get at least 2 walls done, so can't stay online very long.
Put up the shelves in my daughter's room last night and they turned out pretty good. I would like to scribe them and make them fit the wall exactly, but wife says they are fine as is. Oh well.
CSX - might have been from Ohio, but there was no snow on it?
Roy, sounds like your house is really coming along.
Mel - that would make it a spotted owl?
Cooltech - Catfish is yummy with some hush puppies and slaw and cold ice tea! Welcome back!
Fife - that was a good moment, thanks for sharing. $100 would be cheap, but they will never go for it. Good luck.
Chief, thanks for the emails. Good to "talk" to you. Hope you ar
e feeling better and maybe see a doc? Could be broncitis? or ??? Don't want to get pneumonia again.
Doug, hope you have a good day too! Took that pic with my cell phone going like 70 mph so I was surprised it turned out at all.
Don - cool pic! That is an interesting engineering challange - maybe use some steel angles?
Laz - you sure have done a lot around the house lately with all the dirt and stuff! Good to take a little break sometimes! Is that a house for martens? I've thought about putting one of those up as we do get some mosquitos around here. Neighbor with the mosquito breeder (upside down truck shell full of stagnant water under his deck) moved, so maybe not as bad this year?
Sir James - Is that how it works, you have to take naps to get the free $$$? Hmmm, at last I know what I've been doing wrong all these years! I'l have to explain this to the wife.
I have a VERY IMPORTANT and SIGNIFICANT picture to take later, after I've done my chores. Until then, hope all have a great day!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Well, I tried to post yesterday and it didn't work out. Here I am again. Had a good day at church. Was not scheduled for anything, but was about to fill in for one guy on lights. Then, one of the other guys came and offered to take over so I could sit with my wife. How Novel. I have not sat with her more than half a dozen times at church services over the last year. Always having to do one job or another.
Sounds like some folks are facing some trials with sickness again. Hope you are all feeling better soon.
As to the PC crowd, they have lost credibility with me. Ever since ALGORE and his cronies shut down the NW timber industry saying that the spotted owl could only live in "old growth timber". Then, after everything was shut down, they found them nesting in a K-Mart sign.
Did get some layout work done today. Mounted a Ground Bar which as a whole string of screw/ hole slots that you run your wire to and they will all have common ground. Seems an easy way to go that will allow for future growth and work.
Hope everyone has a blessed week ahead.

Evening all from beautiful Southern Ohio,
Warm and sunny with a nice breeze.
Bruce- The loco looks great, are you using an air brush? I'm thinking about venturing into the world of detailing the plasticville structures. I remember an article a couple of years ago on it. Would you recommend starting off with an air brush or spray cans?
BTW relish the moments; our oldest which is still paying for making bonehead decisions 10 years ago now says, I wish I had listened.
Chief- Are you going to the doc about the cough? Prayers for Pam and you!
Dennis & Doug - in our deacon training they say that it is appropriate to set one weekend a month where you sit with your family. No readings, no ministering, not on the alter, just sitting with your family. I can see where that would a great value. During our services we have a sign of peace where you shake hands, hug or whatever is appropriate to those around you. During this time the bride and I look at each other and I wink to her!
Check back later
May God bless
Jim
Good evening all,
IIABSDISEI with temps near 80. Took it easy today. Took borrowed tables and chairs back to dad's, watched tape of "Lost" from Thursday night, and watched IRL race. Briscoe won, Manning was 13th, and Danica was in top 10. Had cinnamon rolls and cereal on the dining car before Mass this morning. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,

Phish - I started off with Testors cans, but they simply put too much paint out at once, and hard to control. Then in the late 80's, Kalmbach was producing its series of Model Railroader videos, and after watching the Airbrushing lesson, I decided I could try that. I picked up a simple single-action BADGER airbrush, and followed the directions on the paint bottles. At that time, FLOQUIL was the best. I actually custom painted for a decade, then I stopped because it was becoming a burden. The hardest part of airbrushing today is figuring out the thinning mixtures of the various water soluable paints. Lately, I favor the ACCU/MODEL FLEX paints. Our PLASTICVILLE tower was a cheap acquisition at YORK (brown walls, grey trim), that I wanted to use to model MARYLAND JUNCTION. I airbrushed SP Lettering Grey for the walls, and meticulously brush painted all the trim Rock Island maroon. I filled in the roof slots with 2 part epoxy, scribing in some shingle detail as it dryed, then airbrushed the roof and steps (which I modified slightly) with Engine black.
Cooltech - don't be a stranger.
GOOD EVENING To ALL
We had a nice lazy day. Temp in the 70s.
Airbrushing is easy to learn but as usual I do it the lazy way, if I can find the color I want in a spray can, thats what James will use. I totally dislike the cleaning process after painting although most paint today can be cleaned with soap and water it does not give the fine grain finish of the older type paints. But a whole lot safer to the lungs. If its not waterbase, a test shot on a unseen surface is a good idea as some paint will etch plastic. Well snacks are ready, Housewife approved for safety so come on by or pick me up and we will go pester Doug or Kurt where ever he is......S.J.
Hey, I thought I mislaid the TARDIS, but I found it this afternoon down by the barn...
Hey guys, had a fantastic day - Rail Fanning this morning, I put the pics in the SPF so as not to bore everyone here. Was pretty Good !!!
Brutus - Ive got some bisquits and Pepto Bismol I can bring, (in case the Tardis landed downstream from the dairy.)
Don
Okay, I'm bringing a bunch of rootbeer too....
YOu guys are on - hey, cool little diecast piece isn't it? Lots of detail and it's just about the exact right size too! It came with this, too:

I do not feel so bad about buying the starwars droids put out by micro machines they are close to s scale but look good on the bachman Union station platforms
Stayed up late. Exerecised GP9's [that were upgraded] as lashup for a local train of boxcars and etc. Then fired up the SD40-2's [CN and NS] for some Legacy fun. Celebrating finding someone to stay with Mom. Got a call. Widow lady had been helping with an elderly lady until she went into rest home. Wants to work again. Understands spoiled old ladies [my Mom] who thinks they can still stay alone. Will not be run off like the others. Mom will think I am paying for it. I will be out of a special account [her money] I will setup to cover her care. That has been one of her main concerns. Who is going to pay for it. She has lots of money saved just for this.
Well, off to bed I go. Have a good night and sleep tight.
PS: Just lost a ZPOT Caboose forum member. Sad. Think he was in his 30's. His "handle" was Krawler.
Morning to All,
Made a fresh pot. Had a bagel on the dining car this AM. Yesterday after church, I came home and cut the grass. Then I came in and watched the last 3/4 of the NASCAR race. That Kyle Busch is tearing it up. Speaking of torn up, I didn't catch the lap 18 crash that collected the 20 and the 88.
Today one of the local access TV crews is coming to videotape a tour of the building. We had planned to have a field trip to bring the kids through the school building this Wednesday, but since we will not have Use and Occupancy, no kiddos are allowed in the building yet. I will use the edited tape to host a virtual field trip for the kids. Hope I can post a link for anyone who might be interested in looking at it.
Have a great day.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a clear and sunny 56 degrees. Going up to a sunny 82 today.
Today is busy. I have a few errands to run and the usual chores to do around the house. Should get some time, this afternoon to enjoy the beautiful weather. Love the summer.
Dining car is here and the usual breakfast is ready. Later.
Y'all have a great Monday.

Mornin' Fellas.Well not much happening around Central MD this weekend. Susie-Q and I got the last spare room (will be the nursery if we ever have kiddies) painted, included painting the walls (done last fall), painting trim, painting doors, painting ceiling, installing new outlets and switches, and installing new door knobs. Looks really nice. Also got another coat of stain put on the deck. DirecTV showed up on Saturday and the tech installed a new switch, now have crystal clear picture on all TVs. The first tech (installed the system) put in a 4 way switch (metal) and had to 'cap' one of the outlets, this resulted in the switch shorting out. New switch is designed for HD service which means if I keep DirecTV I won't need to pay $110 for the switch and just have to run an extra line to the FR so I can get the HDDVR.Tried to install new brakes on Susie-Q's BMW on Saturday but the brake rotors I bought for my 325xi won't fit on her 325i, but the pads will??? Also requires a different brake sensor... gotta love auto manufacturers! Correct parts ordered and they should ship today and arrive either tomorrow or Wednesday. Then yesterday we were out doing our weekly shopping and I shifted her Solara into Park, turned off the engine, took foot off the brake pedal and the car drifted! Quickly applied the parking brake and called my mechanic friend. Stopped by his place last night and it appears the transmission cable is stretched, so he will fix that when he gets back from camping today and tomorrow. Susie-Q is driving the Solara until I get the brakes installed on the BMW. Don't like that but we really don't have a choice... This is why I like to have spare brakes on hand... she says it is a waste of money... asked her what she thought now... If eyes could shoot laser beams...
Good morning all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s. Did some Second Life and some Sudoku last night. Went outside and inspected the trees. Lots of dead in the redbuds. Could probably heat the house with what I could cut off. May be a one night a week summer project. Finally got my "stimulus" check from Uncle Sam. Will go toward IU for Lucas. I had the regular fare for breakfast. I hope everyone has a good day.
Good Morning Y'all!
Not much in the way of planned cases for today. I will go in a little later to do rounds. Have been on the tired side as kids wake us up far too early after keeping us up way too late. I am saddened to hear of Krawler. Will stop over and send condolences.
Anyone have an idea on checking into a patent? I have an idea, but not sure I can get one for it. I don't want to go the route of those groups advertised on TV who will help you get a patent for 80% of the proceeds.
Congratulations Chief, on the person to help your Mom out. I don't look forward to the day I am in the same situation. Glad it worked out.
Looking into getting a NYC GP7, but they are sold out at my favorite place. We shall see. I did get the train station and TPC400 ordered. One thing that I'd really like to get is that new 3rd Rail "Greenbriar" with Legacy installed! While that would be wonderful, I don't see Lionel doing it.....oh to dream.
Well, Hope everyone has a blessed day.
Good Morning
Sunny and 70s today. A good outside day but I have most of the outdoor "do" list done. I finshed OGR now I can start on CTT, already thumbed it,now to read. Kids are pestering me about birthday/fathers day presents, told them I like gift cards, then when I want something I just go get it, like I always do. Besides last time I gave them a list I did not get one thing from it. No new p/u, no wiiiide screen tv,no cottage by the lake, so why bother with a list.
Enjoy Your Monday,,,,,,,,,,,,,S.J.
Morning all. Sunny and warm. So that's where we left the Tardis. . .Dennis, my old college roomate is a patent attorney. He'd say work up your idea, then hire a lawyer to do a search and file. Stay away from those groups.
Metra's getting so strapped for rolling stock, they've bought back the 1950s-era double-decker cars they sold to VRE for $1 and are running them. I was musing on a couple this week as we headed in side-by-side by 50 mph. They still have holders for 'extra' flags.
Good Morning - News filled here the fire in Universal Studio, good thing the Tardis is not here, glad its at Brutus', the bad thing is no return trip to the Court House in real time anyway. BTW who's idea was it for the new server aboard the Tardis, she is a definite benefit.
Really sorry to hear about "Krawler", and he was quite young as well. I know he had some major surgery a while back in one of his post he had talked about having a major portion of this "lower belly" removed. And, he was also looking forward to his first grandchild this summer. Really to bad!
On a happier note, it is 2 Days until the major birthday, I'm wondering if there will be local TV coverage ?? (His birthday is June 4th, just in case anyone wanted to know. (Source: Profile from the other forum.)
I spent quite a bit of time in the train room over the weekend, here's a list of what I accomplished:
- Messed up track lead to the lift bridge, going to have to replace the track.
- Managed to get 1 switch that has been sluggish, to work intermittently as well.
- Adjusted the figure 8 section of the track so that nothing will pass through both directions.
- May have finessed the Big Boy to have a problem, it has been very content managing other switches on the layout in either direction. As of last night it would hardly cross any.
- Rearranged room such that clutter is everywhere, even spilled a box filled with small pieces and parts into the carpet, good news is that there is so much clutter can't get to that part of the room to kick it around or grind it into the carpet.
- Surprisingly, did get the Dispatch Board to work correctly, it responds to the DCS controller consistently and accurately.
Good news is, I have to work this next weekend, so it will be two weeks before I can make any major improvements to the current situation. Will try to see what I can do with the 15 minute a day concept.
Hope everyone has a great day.
