Sir James, did you ever see that movie My Cousin Vinny?  No self-respecting Southerner will eat instant grits, LOL  So - Chief will probably just agree with your analysis!  Laugh [(-D]

Nice pics and post Don Thumbs Up [tup]  Early congrats, Brent!  Thanks for that barrel info, Jack - now I know!  Laz, I've seen that documentary, it's a good one!  I thought about burning it off on a dvd, but the dvr deleted it before I made up my mind.  Are you going to put the plans of a prison on your body or something?  Wink [;)]  RT - that's just the way that lenders do business, wait until 5 minutes after the fact, then call you and make you do all their work as if it is some kind of crisis.  Tell them to give you the answer tomorrow or lose your bidness.  RIch, congrats to your God-daughter too!  Dennis, keep us posted about the movie, it sounds like a great one already.  Kurt, I was looking at that foam stuff in a store one time, they had it on a N gauge layout I think?  Maybe it was HO?  It seemed really springy, I wondered how it would work with O gauge....  Lee, was that some kind of money scam?  Deposit these and wire us the cash?  Glad the bank helped you out on that one, dude!

RT, why don't I pick you up and we'll go get some banilla at Sir James' house?  Then, we can run over and pick up Kurt and go run trolleys at Doug's house?  That should keep us busy until the bankers sober up and stamp your papers Laugh [(-D]

Good Evening Ladies and Gents,

Hope you guys in the South and the Midwest have been able to duck all the tornadoes.

I want all of these disparaging remarks about grits to stop.  Just because my dogs adamantly refuse to eat them is no reason to conclude that they are unsuitable for human consumption.  But if I told you what my dogs WILL eat, I'd only be giving you more ammo to continue dissing grits.  Chief eats them, and look what what they've done for him.  Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Following some errands today, got within 100 yards my road.  The street I was on (35mph speed limit) was blocked off by 2 police cruisers.  Head on collision just occurred.  Took them about an hour to extract the victims, haul them away by ambulance, and tow the cars away.  Somehow I can only conclude that drivers are too rushed and too distracted to safely pilot a 3,500 pound weapon.  The sun was shining and the roads bone dry.  Makes me glad my kids are older and not just learning to drive.

RT.....don't get into a peeing contest with the bankers.....until after the loan gets approved.  No sense messing up your hot streak.  Someone as well as I asked you if you're going to have room for trains in your new digs.  Yes, no, maybe?

Sir James.....glad to hear your tests came out good.

Brutus.....can you tell me what kind of loco that was you posted the pic of when you were out with visiting boyscouts?  Sure looks sharp, and a heavy puller.  I can't quite make out the wheel arrangement.

ANJDEVIL....who bailed you out?  Rubin Hurricane Carter?  I spent time back in the 70s commuting from Stone Harbor to Linden NJ and back.  Lived in Avenel after that, though some consider that Edison NJ.

Brent....I can't figure out how you find the time for trains with company coming this weekend.  My wife would have a "honey do" list a mile long.  "Jack, the inside of the tank on the toilet looks grotesque.  What if someone looks in there?  Get that cleaned out."

One of you guys from Alaska posted about all of the fish you brought down to the St. Louis area so relatives in the lower 48 could taste real fish.  Although I am 13 miles South of Gloucester MA., the family took an 80 mile day trip down to New Bedford MA last Saturday.  We brought coolers and stocked up big time on fresh catch, but I need to go to Wally World to pick up those flat two sided baskets for grilling the fish on the grill.  My Doctor will thank me for cutting back on the red meats.

Happy nappy time.

Morning to All

Stopped in for a quick cup.  No time for forum lately.   School construction still dragging along.  Some contractors are just plain slow (or too cheap to hire more skilled laborers).  Staffing is still dragging along too. My boss is holding up staffing due to tight budget and lack of wiggle room with teachers to divy out.  Making me crazy.

Mrs. is going to beach for a girls weekend.  Should have some quality alone time this weekend.  Probably have a honey-do about a mile long.  You know how it will go.. since you'll be alone and bored....

Son's graduation at AU was nice but we got drenched coming and going on the highways as well as to and from the parking lot.  Felt like we were drowning with all the rain.  Weather yesterday was beautiful. Hopefully more of the same is in store.

Take care,

Mitch

Good Morning.  Have a case to do and then I am hoping to head to the house.  Last night was incredible!  We had the screening for  the movie and I was impressed to say the least.  Brutus they did a market screening in St. Louis and Birmingham for the movie.  They said that the audience gave it the highest positive marks since the first release of E.T.  I think that folks are going to look at Kirk Cameron differently after this.  He was very intense.  Also, I think folks are going to enjoy the train scene.

Gotta run.

God Bless,

Jack - Susie-Q has been preoccupied with something else. We'll find out today if it a good thing or a bad thing. As for trains, I have 2 hours from the time I get home till she gets home every day, that is usually enough time for me to get into trouble. 'Hello.' 'What are you doing.' Chuga Chuga 'What was that?' WOOOO WOOOO 'Running trains I hear. Looks like I need to find something for you to do.' 'No I'm good. Just burning off some steam from work today.' 'Uh huh. You know you have company coming this weekend.' 'Yes.' 'You are going to a baseball game tomorrow.' 'Yup. With your Brother and a couple friends. Gonna watch the O's lay it on the BoSoxs, have a couple dogs, beers, and hang out with the honeys.' Hysterical laughing... 'Yeah. OK. You come back to reality yet?'

I'll be cleaning and straightening up the house tomorrow from the time I get home till the time I hit the pillow.

Mitch - Haven't seen my neighbor lately. You keeping him busy at the school? (Not sure if the board heard this or not, but my neighbor is building Mitch's school - we found out when Mitch, Fife and JohnF came by after York last month). Hope the hiring gets straightened out, that has to be frustrating. BTW - Two houses for sale on my block! Wink [;)]

Chief - I think I'll stick with the steak and potatoes. If grits makes you look like that I'll continue to pass. What say you Laz?!?!

Well stopped by the LTS yesterday to drop off the Allegheny. While there the owner let me take the RS-3 back for further testing. Got her home and she runs a bit better, problem is I have to keep rotating the CAB-2 dial to speed her up. Was reading the ERR site yesterday and it appears their cruise commander is a direct replacement for the K-Line cruise so I may pick one up and give it a try. I was planning on buying one for another engine so if it doesn't fix the K-Line cruise then I can always return the engine. Also was reading the instruction manual for installing and the instructions show installation in a K-Line Allegheny. So when I get the Allegheny back I may go ahead and install one in that too. Could be do a lot of upgrades in the near future! Sigh [sigh]

OH!!!! Forgot to mention. Got a call from TAS yesterday. They have completed work on my C&O docksider... should be back in my grimey little hands next week. Smile [:)]

Well off to read my articles for school and get school participation done for the day... toodles

Jack Yes this place will have one bedroom just for my trains not sure how big it is as didn't have a measuring tape when I was there but do know it apeared about twice the size of this well which is only 7' X 8' so I'm guessing probally about 10' X 12'.

No not trying to **** off the loan officer but I have issues with him even thou he has done about all he can. Will explain later.

I'm just stressing out lol.

Morning all another day of waiting. Hopefully we know one way or another befor the day is out.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cloudy 50 degrees. Going up to 72 today, with a chance of rain.

Today is a very busy day. I have to drive to Cambridge to do the weekly grocery shopping. Gas is at $3.78 now, and will probably go higher. This is affecting all other prices. Shopping is getting tight.  No time for trains today. I will be needing some train running.

Dining car has arrived  and it's time for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Wednesday.

Ill try to finish it up after work tonight. After that it will be the dreaded wiring. Not looking forward to laying under that layout for half a day. Well, going out for a run with the dog and then get ready for work. Hope everyone has a great day. See Ya

Good morning all,

It is cloudy and rainy in SE Indiana with temps in the 60s.  Lucas and I mowed the yard and I cleaned the gutters out.  They were full of maple tree pods.  Yuck!  At least the seeds had not sprouted!  The Lionel Ives car I mentioned yesterday went for over $200 on eBay.  An equivalent 500 series car probably would have gone for $50 or less.  Hmmmm.  Soccer practice is tonight if the weather permits.  The last two days the weather has been beautiful and the track has been closed.  Practice is scheduled for today and guess what the weather is???  Some years you just can't buy a break.  As long as the weather is dry and warm and the good guys win on race day, all will be fine.

I had the regular fare on the dining car this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & 48 this morning in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Fifey's-wifey is home today, so looks like I'll be finding something to do outside, while she is blasting JOSH GROBAN inside.Dead [xx(]  Handling a ton of crashes (MVA) lately at work; people are just not paying any attention nor cutting anybody slack...pretty costly outcomes.

Blueberry - Gasoline will be $4 by Memorial Day, and $5 by Independence Day.  And we will beg for $3.59 a gallon by then.

cheapclassics - I like to let my seedlings sprout first...makes it easier to pluck them from the gutters.Tongue [:P]

88 - Still wondering how that WM RS3 will pull up and over Keystone...  Gotta like yesterday's box score --- sox 4 O's 5!!!  What a scrappy bunch;just not enuff pitching.

Chief - Do you give chartered fishing tours on KERR?

CSXext - The real star of MY COUSIN VINNY is the Chessie freight that rolls by at 0400.Thumbs Up [tup]

Good Morning

Another overcast day in the 50s now 60s later. This might be a good day to put my veggies outside so they can adapt. Course I still have to go to the store and get them. Rain is forecast but I only see a few places on radar. Maybe some trains this afternoon.  Oh and we missed Fri. the 13th, it was yesterday. But watch out next month. Have a safe day, try toast instead of grits.....S.J.

Morning all. This is my third and final attempt at posting. Looks to be a god train day as we are expecting rain soon. Will wash some clothes and clean up the house also. Went to visit with my mother yesterday. She is getting better and should be home Thursday.

SoapBox [soapbox] Now for a little rant. We keep getting this 866-808-0880 number that keeps calling.Censored [censored] There is never anyone on the other end when we were answering it, we dont any more. I did a search online this morning turns out Iam not the only one having this problem. It is a buisness that collects for a few different charities. Sometimes they call up to 8 times a day.Banged Head [banghead] If you call back it just ring and rings and finally hangs up. Thought I could call and gat them to stop calling. And yes we are registered on the do not call list.  Iam done now. SoapBox [soapbox]

I want to thank Kurt Polak who generously and unexpectedly sent me a gift this week. I'll post photos this weekend.

Happy B-Day [bday]Happy Birthday, DOUG !!!!!Happy B-Day [bday]

Jason - You've hit on my wife's greatest pet peeve, she keeps up on all the counter-offenses.  The latest one is when it rings and you answer, during the initial delay to hit the # key about 7 or 8 times, and the computer on the other end goes off-line causing a hick-up in their system.

Worked on accessories more last night.  Re-wired an old AF water tower.  got it all working, but boy does that elecro-magnet really draw the current.  Light on top is on all the time, then have the spout extend by activiating a button on the DCS.  (Momentary)

Chris is walking around here 3 feet of the ground!  He won on a local radio station 2 tickets to a real popular concert this coming Saturday.  Features Metallica, and a bunch of other bands that I've never heard of.  I don't recall seeing him this excited in a VERY LONG time!!  I guess he gets behind the scenes pass as well.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Happy B-Day [bday] Doug!

Fife - I think I'm gonna open her up and check the connections. It runs SOOOO slow - could melt butter over a block of ice slow. This just reeks of a loose or missing connection.

----

Got a call about a management position yesterday. It is an entry level manager (1-3 direct reports) but will eventually fill out to 10+. The pay is slightly and I mean slightly more than I make now, but if I level my current employer I'll have to fork over $5,500 for my Master's Tuition.

The benefits at the new place are better than I have now, and the commute is only 3 miles longer (but I would be closer to Fife's for running trains in the evening and closer to York for the shows, which means I wouldn't have to miss as much work).

This one is driving me nuts because of the opportunity to FINALLY get into a managerial role and there is loads of upward potential...

joetrains- Yes I knew that charities are exempt. Just seems every one I tell asks if Iam on the list. I dont have a problem if its the actual  charity that is dooing the calling. At least I could tell them to stop if I wanted. My problem is its a company hired by charities to look for donations and more than likly they are making a profit some how. Plus its a Censored [censored]auto dialer that keeps harasing me and I cant tell them to stop.
