Laugh [(-D]  And, he's allergic!

Hey, I've heard of a lot of wild ways to pass this stuff along, but my guess is that there is an .exe file or something, maybe the virus is in the communications software that's built into the frame - the drivers or something?  If they are 6 months old, then my guess is that a good virus checker would block them though...

Morning!

RT:  More great news!  Maybe check with a lender to see what you qualify for, in terms of rates, fees, and amounts.

Brutus:  Now that's a big fish.  What do you think your Bride would say with that over the mantle?  Oh you know he's getting that one stuffed.  EEeek.  Thanks for the tip on the viruses.  We ended up with the Kodak wireless photo frame for my Bride at Christmas.  She has it at work, and she gets a different photo every time she looks up.  No cables to hook up to transfer photos, and it has a timer feature to turn it off when she goes home.  It holds a lot of images.

Cleaned, and re-attached/wired the 2033 powered engine...still getting sparks from the pick-up roller.  I think think the roller pins are a bit dirty.  I did clean with CRC, and a brass wheel, but I didn't get the pins and connections.  I did find quite a bit of metal shavings around the gears, but the gears look fine.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

Thank You for the Birthday wishes, Buckeye.

Yes, today is my Birthday. 66 years young. I play with trains. And a very Happy National Train Day to everyone. Let's Celebrate.

It is a beautiful, sunny day at 44 degrees. Going up to 70 today with lots of sunshine.

Today, I get to mow grass. Better do to now, as more rain is coming tomorrow. It will be nice to be outside. The grass needs to dry out first. We had some thunderstorms last night.  And of course, I will take some time to run trains, later.  Gonna be a nice day.

Dining car is here with 66 cupcakes. I have some good things to eat today. Now, it's time for breakfast. Be back later.

Y'all have a great Saturday.  I will.

Happy B-Day [bday] Blueberry!

Mornin' Fellas.

Well out with the old, in with the new. Stopped by the LTS on Wednesday to pickup some track and while there noticed a beutiful black and red Western Maryland RS-3. When I inquired about it the owner brought out the box. It is a K-Line with cruise control, TMCC and smoke. So yesterday I boxed up the MTH B&O RS-1 I picked up in MA last September when I was there, headed to the LTS and half an hour later I was headed home with a new WM RS-3 and some extra cash. Put her on the track when I got home and found that I have to get the track cleaned... ewww.

One thing I noticed is the engine has a connector on the front and back so you can connect multiple engines together and the cruise will sync all the motors... pretty neat. I think WM had a few of these, so I may look for another to complement this one.

Fife - Didn't WM use these on the mainline? I know most RRs used them as switchers.

88 - YEP.  WESTERN MARYLAND had a whole fleet of RS-3s that ran all over the system, and into the 70's.  They even MU'd them with their F's and BL-2's.  Sounds like you got a nice engine.  I always thought their twin sealed beam headlights were cool looking too (I have a couple in N-scale).  Pretty sure there is an example at the B&O museum.

Happy B-Day [bday] Blueberry

Now I'll say GOOD MORNING

Sunny and nice today, rain expected tomorrow. Well so far mother has had no offers for dinner tomorrow so if none come old dad will take her. I was told a long time ago that mothers day was nine months after fathers night, but apparently not. I got a little train time in yesterday and all seemed well except for some kline madison type cars that have more drag than I want so one day I will see how the truck p/u assembly comes apart. I suspect the ground straps may be to tight. Oh well on with the day, Have a Good One,,,,,S.J.

Morning all. Happy B-Day [bday] Chuck! Good to be back where things are green. Supposed to nice today and nasty tomorrow - temps still far below 'normal' for this time of year. The desert sure was a wild place though. Daughter acted up whilst I was away. Hope to begin untangling things today.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHUCK !!!

I showed no mercy, score was 5-1, (I scratched on the eight ball, one game) Cool [8D]  Most importantly had a good time, I was somewhat surprised on the way home he told me how great it was having a close relationship with me.  That none of his friends Dad's do much with their sons.  And also how many didn't have a Dad, that was depressing.  Suggested he could invite a friend to go with us if he wanted, but that I still enjoy just the 2 of us the most.

May get some train time today, none tomorrow though.  And no NASCAR race either, oh well only 1 day.

RT - Seems everything is falling in place, congrats on the approval.  Going to be a busy time for a while.

Doug should be back posting soon, be interesting what he thought about the great out west.  (Look like he was posting at the same time)

Sounds like the Chief fixin to have some GroundHog dinner for all his visitors.

Happy Mothers Day to all, and Have a Great Week-End.

Happy B-Day [bday]Happy B-Day [bday] Chuck from sunny and HOT North Florida.

Hit 90+ yesterday with lots of wind. TPC golf tournament is this weekend and we have always had unusual weather while tournament is being played. Ran Elvis and Polar Express for a few minutes last night. Haven't had much train time as trying to get the house pressure washed after adding a new deck to the front of the house.

By the way-----Happy B-Day [bday] Chuck!!!!!!

GOOD EVENING ALL

CHUCK, I hope you had a great birthday

We had a real nice day today, not summer but nice. My daughter and family stopped by this afternoon and with SIL plus wives I got the boat off the patio and to the driveway. Now next week, off to the nursery for veggies. Salt shaker and bacon is ready but it will be awhile. I promise not to mention my to####es, like last year,I'll just sit and wait while everyone else tells me how good theirs are. No trains today but I did look at some things, so that counts.

We got banilla and peach ice cream, cookies, and apple pie, so come on in if your this way...S.J.

Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 70s.  Happy birthday, Blueberry Hill!  It has been good to share the dining car at breakfast with you all these years.

Once again, it is never a dull moment in the Greensburg area.  We went to an end of the year high school band and choir concert Friday night.  It was nice seeing Lucas on stage again.  Later that night while we were watching "Numb3rs", he comes home early with his girlfriend.  Turns out that although he missed the light pole in a fast food parking lot, he crunched the left front corner of the car with the concrete base of said light pole.  Ouch!  We had it towed to the body shop today and they are going to give us an estimate on Monday.  On top of that, he and his girlfriend had some words earlier in the day.  He was not in a good mood that evening or this morning.  Hopefully things will be ok.  Still, I told him if that is the worse driving mistake he makes, he will be ok.   He did go out with her family tonight so things can't be too bad between him and her.

Onto more pleasant topics.  I got to watch a soccer game today, which is always a pleasure.  I also watched qualifying at Indy both online and on ABC.  I did the housework as well.  Tomorrow is the graduation for one of my daughter's with her masters in social work.  My wife was also pleased with what I got her for Mother's Day  / Birthday.  As the Chief advised, they were fairly nice as it was a double whammy.

I had the regular fare on the dining car.  I hope everybody (including Sarah Fisher and Darren Manning) has a good day today and tomorrow.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Happy birthday Chuck - Sorry, I just missed it!  Big storm came through when I got on internet earlier today....

Prayers for Doug and all others who need them and hope all have something figured out for tomorrow.  Sir James, I hope Mrs SJ has recieved a phone call or something - if not, you can throw her on your steed and do the prue chevalier thing, right?  I'm sure I spelled that wrong!

Worked until 1, then ran to Wally World and picked up a couple Rhino fishing poles, a license, some bobbers, some hooks, some weights, a handy tool, a small tackle box, a net, and finally my prescription allergy medicine.  Grabbed a burger and then started mowing the jungle that used to be my yard.  I got 90 percent done when the rain started.  Also got to meet the new neighbors - they seem very nice, which is good.  Last neighbor was a stick in the mud I guess - hardly had two words with him the whole time they lived there.

Hey - maybe this guy will like toy trains?

I'll swing by in a little while and see if there is any apple pie really left, LOL!

Guys, if I caught a fish like that one it would probably drag me under, do a death roll, and that would be all she wrote, LOL!

CSX - the first gen DVD players were almost univerally faulty - they didn't meet the actual agreed on specs, esp for bitrates on audio and video....  DVD authoring tools started creating dvds that went right up to the limit of the specs and then these players revealed themselves.  Since then, they have revised dvd specs to include anamorphic 16 x 9, etc.  There are also issues with "flagging" on some players, where they read various flags or values on the dvd every time they change chapters and then reset the default or set values.  Some players, for instance, would start off showing subtitles in French or Spanish.  Turn the subtitles off.  Chapter changes and they come back on.  Interstingly, Disney dvds were ones that would screw up the non-standard early players.  The first dvd that was considered a "test" for this by us early adapters was the metal case version of Terminator 2 with the ability to do branching to include or exclude additional footage that was not shown in the theaters.  Our first DVD player was a Philips Magnavox and it would just barely play T2.  But, as authoring pushed the limits of the standard, it eventually would fail to run more and more new releases.

In other words, if it won't play the dvd, but will play other dvds, then the problem is that the hardware isn't good enough.

There is also a chroma bug issue with some dvd players and it is still out there!  Due to a small piece of bad coding that was put into one chip, which was used in countless dvd players, some players make jaggedy lines on the edges of brightly colored objects.  Think of the uniform shirts on Star Trek or cartoon characters.  If you can get up close to the screen and see a more or less smooth curve on a shoulder or round area, then you don't have this problem.  If it looks jaggedy, then you have that coding error in your hardware.

TMI?  Sorry, this is another hobby of mine.  But, we too are still using an old analog tv set!  Maybe one day we will catch up to Chief and his big screen tv?!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Brutus:  Great information!  Can you recommend a disk cleaner for DVD's?  If you still remember having DVD's with small children, they seem to get their fingers on everything, and they're usually greasy.  Thanks.
