Charlie, sorry for your loss. I will pray for his family and for you....may God's comfort and peace come to you all.

Jim, I sent you an email.  RT, like your idea of the brownies with cheesecake and fruit.  I make a version with chocolate chip cookie dough on the bottom and then chocolate chip cheesecake on top.  Seems to be crowd pleaser.  Funny, all those people that keep begging you to make these dishes don't seem to want to fund the groceries needed to make them.

Seems a lot of us have had issues to deal with at home.  Like Chief, I was wondering about Jack....hope things are well up that way.

Well, I have a busy day of it today.  Hope to check in between cases.

God Bless,
Dennis

Good morning all,

It is absolutely miserable here in SE Indiana with rain/sleet/snow.  Made it to work before it got really bad, and wondering how the trip home will be.  Thoughts and prayers going out to all who need them.  Dennis, you have had a varied career.  Recording artist and now movie producer, we have a bona fide celebrity in our midst.  Eat your heart out, Neil Young!  Brutus, that must have been the reason!  Wife and I went over the Christmas list again last night.  Not needing nearly as many items as we thought we needed to get.  I had the regular fare on the dining car this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Morning all.  Prayers for little one and Mitch and his buddy's family.

Second thing, Shake and Bake, you always smell that way. Whistling

Buckeye, guy on OGR is having MTH switch problems.  Like us, too much invested.

Morning Fifey, no sign on from you.  Does that mean you are on the way to NC to help me do a second level? Confused

Real warm and cloudy.  Busy day this PM.  Ribbon cutting at new State Employees' CU and then fancy Mayors' Assoc. Christmas Party at the Capitol City Club.  Got to call Dr. and I know she will want me to come in.  Getting better but need "refill" of meds.  Tomorrow is full afternoon.  Chat later.

GOOD MORNING !!

Hey its Raining here !  This is the real wet stuff !  So the flooding begins !  We got 2" already, I will have to take a picture of the flood control chanel behind the house, It will really get going today!  And of course, it doesn't matter how much it rains here, upstream is the concern.  Snow level is supposed to get down to 1400 feet.  Sure glad don't have far to go to work.  Everyone really goes crazy here when we have any weather.

Morning all. I'm so unused to going to the office I set the alarm wrong and ended up massively late. No one was here anyway. A tad cold today - about 4 with wind chills of 10-15 below. And this is while the day is theoretically getting warmer. Prayers for your friend's family, Charlie and for that pastor' son.  Working on working - and looking for brickface I could glue on cardstock.

Good Morning All

Rained all nite and very windy. Still beats the heck out of having snow. It was 51 this morning going to be 25 tonite. Got up and out for a haircut, shop is near the GM tech center where all the planning for future cars is done. Very large complex. Anyway the barbers say business is down  because some of their GM customers are out of work already. Ripple effect.

Charlie sorry about your friend. I was wondering why I had not heard from you. The trains are here if you need to unwind.

MTH switchs you have to fix with  tape, that sucks. they should take them back but of course that will never happen. Like the diecast tenders that warped, you want a replacement, pay for it.......S.J.

BDT, glad to see your post on the POT.  Cold up there.  Warm here.  Going on my 1 1/2 mile walk and only long sleaves.  Will change though.  Up and down gives everyone the bad colds or flu.

Sorry for the PayPal thing.  I try not to use it.  They did have my CC # and the CC company backs me very well.

Afternoon all from wet Southern Ohio,

It is very windy and temps are expected to fall and be nasty Tuesday.

Charlie – Oups!

Dennis –I got the email, thanks for the heads up.  I went to the site but they must not them posted yet, only 17 AF items.

Doug – I made some brick looking sheets on the computer with WORD.

Sort of like this, when pasted over it got a little funky, but you get the idea, then repeated it on the page.

Ole Timer – Too bad about the paypal mess, are they going to cover it for you?  That is one reason why I still would rather use money orders.

Got to go

May God bless

Jim

Don, I remember watching David Letterman a long time ago.  This was after Johnny Carson had been retired for awhile.  They called Johnny at home and asked how he was doing...he said "GREAT!, the mudslides are putting out the fires!"  Always liked Johnny.

Oldtimer, sorry to hear about that.  One reason I am skeptical about the bay...amoung others.  I hope they have some way of paying you back.  Go figure, EBay now requires sellers to use a particular payment method that is obviously flawed.  I think they should be held responsible, but I am sure they have lawyers who have worked that out too.

Well, it seems I am over 3000 posts now.  Didn't think it'd happen for some time.  Does seem that I have more short periods of time to check in between cases, etc.   Well, like Don, wish I had something profound to say.  I will just leave it at, I hope that everyone has a wonderful day....it is about 70 here, and they tell me close to 80 come Saturday.

God Bless,
dennis

Lovely Morning All, if you're a duck.

Mid 40's lots a rain and wind with bunches of snow in the local mountains, chainlaw in effect. Guess it is supposed to stay this way for a few days, have to see what happens with the weather pattern. Normally this will set up a series of systems coming thru with a small break in between. Mammoth has picked up  two feet of new snow, would love to dig out the skis and give it a go but the knees are telling me otherwise. Sad

Gonna be a busy period after Christmas the Kids Club will be running the layout on the 26th and the 29th. The museum has decided to be open on monday the 29th , guess they are anticipating some increased visitation with the Christmas Holidays.

Chief....I have been thinking about our MTH switch problem and looked carefully at where I get the sparks.  There is black on the rail about 1/4" long.   That's where the tape needs to be.

Stopped at Robbie's Hobbies on High Street after work.  Needed a bulb.  I got it free.  Nothing like a LHS that knows their customers.  I have purchased plenty from them and their prior store.  When I change to Legacy, that is where I will purchase the set.

As Mr. Buckeye said, it is brutal here in Hawkeyeland--big winds and low temps, ugg.  Kinda tough on this old guy when our temps out west were in the 50's-70's this last weekend.  Buy yet, I  would not trade  locations Smile

The fireplace feels mighty fine tonight, it's interesting how many times that wood warms one up!

Good evening fellow forum folks.  Charlie, sorry to hear of the loss of your friend.  Prayers for you and his family.  Well the rain is finally here after hearing about it on TV for three days.  Roof leaked a little in my living room.  Need to get up there when it dries out and try to fix it.  Snow in the mountains predicted and colder than usual all over.  Finally got the tree decorated today and son is happy because he has someplace to park his presents now.  Thought about putting a train around the tree but not much room so passed on the idea.  Chief,  I have'nt bought anything off of E Bay since they went to Pay Pal only for payment.  Prior to that, I paid by check or money order and had 100% positive feedback.  Never had a problem until EBay created one.  If I do want anything now I get my son to buy it for me with his Pay Pal account.  I buy so little, I don;t want to open an account just for that.  Getting fatter just hearing about all that cheescake and stuff on here.  Have a good night y'all,

Ray

RT, thanks for the kind thoughts and the email....I will take care of itWink

Jon, Hopefully that cold bathroom thing from last year is all taken care of.  Now that Kevin has left the door open from the Great White North, I think we will all need a nice warm place to get out of the cold.

Well, got a message from a guy I went to high school with who now lives in Texas.  He sells cars for a GM dealer.  Lost track of him and all but one of my friends from high school.  With the internet, it seems we can touch base with so many folks from the past.  Just hope not to get any contacts from some of the people I used to know....didn't like them then, not sure I would now.

I got a letter from one of my investment accounts.  This is one that I opened a long time ago.  I had a bunch of money that I was going to invest.  Broker told me to put it all into Lucent, but I decided to split it between Lucent and Lockheed Martin.  The Lucent was $48. when I purchased, now it is like $2.  Lockheed was $16 and the broker said it was a do-nothing stock.  It is now over $100.  Anyway, wife noticed that I had not changed beneficiary and also my marriage status.  Guess I'll take care of that.  If I come up missing....have the cops verify my wife's whereabouts as she stands to gain a lot.

I had better go, but do hope everyone has a good night.

Dennis

Dennis, we could track you anywhere in the Tardis, once we get done with some brownies and cookies Laugh  Watching stuff on ebay is a sort of hobby, and sometimes I even bid on it.  Every once in a while I win, too!  No problems for me that I know about but they just have my Visa number anyway so I should be covered twice over.  Caught up with some friends today and did not have any problem getting to work despite the ice storm.  I asked my wife and kids to "salt" the driveway with that calcium stuff I bought.  They forgot so it's an icerink and we'll get snow tonight and tomorrow too Banged Head

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
