Where is the picture of you and I standing in front of Rogers Corner and I am handing you a big bag of GRITS? Whistling  All my in-laws are here.  Great Niece came to see Santa in the park.  Had public hearing at Town Hall from 4 to 7.  Came home to all of that.  Lucy going wild chasing the kid and Burg trying not to be left out.  Now to clean up and get Burg and Lucy settled down.  Cold and raining.  Did take Great Niece upstairs and run trains.  She 2 1/2 blew the Big Boy whistle and diesel horns.

Great post, Buckeye!

Well, just won a 1668E on ebay, but looks like the wrong tender.  Got it for $51 and looks like it neads to be cleaned and lubed - said it runs forward and reverse but squeeks.  Now I'll need some cars to go with it, of course.... Whistling

I can do 4 or 5 more and have 9K.  Now do I show my albums of visits with CTT folks.  Forum would overload and be pages after pages long.  Got them all stored in my aux harddrive.  Great to look back on.

Well, it's been forever since I have been to the Forum but when I received the email about Buckeye's 5000th post I had to check it out. It was great seeing all your pics. Buckeye, congratulations on the 5000 posts. I look forward to coming to see your layout again and you are welcome back to WNY anytime. By the way, we have had over 100 inches of snow already this year and it looks like I will be out shoveling again in the morning before I go to school...unless the Superintendent thinks it's bad enough and calls a snow day! I think I'll hang around here on a little more regular basis again.

Charlie - I also hope you get better!  Take the antibiotics until they all run out man.  I had this and took two go-rounds with strong stuff to fix me up.

Guys, I've got some plans for brownies with cheesecake and cherries, topped with banilla.  Had a few Old Mills with Laz and we will be over to get you guys and that cake in a minute or two!  No problems with the snow, the Tardis has cable!

Tom S, glad to hear from you.  Don't shovel too much of that white stuff.  Reclinerized too long.  Lucy woke me up but Mom is still asleep on the couch.  Good night.  Sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite. God bless all.

Morning all!

Buckeye:  Congratulations on the 5k!  Looks like your memory is still there too...Like John, I would never remember where I put all those photos.

Brutus:  WooHoo!  Great haul!  I think that might be the right tender...It should have a hook on the back since it's pre-war.

Great Pre-School Christmas show last night!  Yes, my daughter was one of the loudest, and did manage to untuck her shirt, and show her belly...I'm so proud.  At least we could hear her.

Glad everyone is enjoying some of the old photos.   I don't think I do anything special to keep track of them.  I try to date my folders using this system: 2008-12-17 Photo Group Name.   Then all of my train related photos and folders are stored in a master folder named:  TRAINS.

Morning all. Wow, such milestones - 9K for the Chief! 3K for RT coming up. Just shows who has a lot to say. Cold here - not much snow after all - maybe 5 inches or so. Very fine - easy to blow. Off to take the youngest to school. A good day to be here rather than commuting to Chicago. Going to hunt around the house looking for something I could fashion for the 'bag' at the end of a water column.

Good Morning from snowy Southern Ohio,

Snow is melting and the roads are clearing.  Last night the roads were terrible with black ice.

RT – you are quite the chef! Chef

Buckeye – Congrats on the 5K, really neat pictures.  It is nice to be able to put faces to the folks we chat with.

Jim – Good EBay buy.  There are still bargains to be found.

Chief – Congrats on the 9K!  (In 1 more post) WOW

Fife – No dolphins, it is a flamingo

May God bless

Just saw that my previous post is number 499.  That would make this my five hundredth post.  Now if I only had something significant to post.  Oh well, maybe by the time I get to number 1000.  lol

*** Edit ***

That was interesting, I edited my previous post and my post count went up.  Wonder if it will happen again?

Sure have been a LOT of milestones in the past few days,  GLAD I DID MY PAULTRY 2K, BEFORE ALL YOU OLD GUYS GOT YOURS IN.   And, to think at one time I thought the higher your post count the more you knew...

Seriously, Buckeye that was really a terrific post, I would nominate that one for the "Post of the Year"

2nd wave of our week long storm blew in this morning, we have cold temps, rain, and WIND.  There will probably be some damage today lot of the nasty stuff is headed toward the burnt area of Yorba Linda.

Did get the train around the tree last night.  Actually 2 track, Polar Express, and a Santa hand-car on a small dedicated oval.

Got to get going,  CONGRATS TO ALL !!!!    (9,000 ?  now thats a lotta smoke, definetly politician qualification!)

Quackity Quack !

That's duck lingo for Mornin' All, it has been raining all night. Fortunately most of it has been moderate so shouldn't be any major issues, hopefully. Glad I don't need to drive this morning.

Been up for awhile, couldn't sleep, so I have been putting the finishing touches on the Christmas train for the friday run at the museum. Got most of it packed and ready to go, tomorrow will be really busy with the munchkin spending tomorrow afternoon and the nite with us. Will be taking him with us to the club's Christmas dinner, we'll see how that goes. Cool

Wow 5,000, all those posts and not even retired yet. Kinda makes you wonder about some of those engineering projects. Laugh Whistling

Well Buckeye, I thought about closing the school today but the highway crews did a great job again getting the roads ready.  Even with over a 100 inches of snow so far we still have not closed schools.  I am amazed at how well the plows get things done around this area.  We don't use delayed openings either since it messes families up more than closings.

We had our HS Christmas program last night.  It was great and I got to read The Night Before Christmas while the band played different parts after every couple lines.  It was a lot of fun.

Chief, congratulations on those 9000 posts!  I think when someone gets to 10,000 that they should get a specially made train car.

Tom, he just has to send his red crushed-velour smoking jacket to Buckeye to get a star sewed on the sleeve. I think it's a stripe for every 1,000 and a star for every 5,000.   School didn't close here either. It has to be an enormous storm for that to happen... may get one tomorrow night.
