Good Job Fife, I'd leave it on the fridge for at least a couple of weeks....Whistling.  Such subtle statements work wonders....Smile,Wink, & Grin

Up to 69 today and breezy.  Fighting off a massive headache, took 2 Motrin, hopefully will be better soon.  Busy today, have to update the web and get 20 cars ready for Friday....Yup, I have to work...manditory, upside is I'll be in New Jersey for 2 weeks starting on the 21st of December to Jan 4, 2009.  It's been at least 10 years since I've been in NJ for Christmas my daughter and my self.  The Mrs and son will stay home and feed the cats and the Christmas tree.Whistling

Most of the shopping is done for the Turkey Day feast, just need a few pies and butter, then I'm ready to cook.  Will do that on Wednesday.  I'll expect to do some train shopping on Saturday while I'm at the LTS...a present for...ME!

Christmas shopping starting soon......YIKES!!!

OK, we'll talk later....

To Fife and anybody else that wears the uniform Thumbs Up , to put up with the bull that is dished out by "john q. public" as well as some of the town/city fathers requires the patience of Jobe. That is a trait that is severely lacking on my part, but on the other hand I have been married over 43yrs( to the same one, can't afford one much less two Laugh ).

Looks as though the "CRUD" is finally beginning to break up, these last antibiotics that were prescribed is like trying to swallow a burrito w/o chewing. As long as they work !

Won a couple of cars on the Bay of E, one is for the muchkins Christmas train. The Egg Nog Tank. Clown

Any of you run MTH with Loco Sound and not Proto Sound? Care to opine ?

Seems as though some of the Christmas MTH 4-6-0's are showing up on E-Bay in set breakups and was toying with the idea of maybe getting one. Do they still have cruise control or is that only with PS2 ?

Have fun and enjoy the day, here we are waiting for the rain as flash flood watches have already been posted thru tomorrow nite. Sigh

I have tested a few LocoSound MTH's.  I'd say that it is evquivilant to TrainSounds.  They have OK sounds, just really didn't like the whistle.  If I recall, you can't sound the whistle unless the engine is moving.  The bell works regardless.

They move well and sound pretty good.  Of course I'm spoiled with RailSounds and some of the PS2's (When the MTH's work, they are WONDERFUL machines, but more often than not, they are problematic and difficult to run - MY opinion and experience only).

If they are inexpensive, I'd say they are a decent buy.

Good afternoon,

Going to be a bit cool here in south Florida for Thanksgiving day. Speaking of Thanksgiving, we are driving up to Camilla GA to my wife's cousin, she makes a very good turkey and other fixings. Been getting the car ready for the trip north, changed oil and air filters, checked other fluids, washed car today, have battery on slow charger for a light charge up.

At work they are talking about cuting 275 full time positions from the toll collectors. Lantana lost the most; 12 people, ten collecters and two supporvisers. Don't know what may happen next. Just hope that I can keep my job as most companies are laying off.

My aunt, my mother's sister, is in the hospital and should be operated on tomorrow or friday for bypass surgery. I might stop in to see her before going to GA, or maybe after going to GA.

Prayers for your aunt, Lee.

Laz, you are in - got some Sammies too, wife bought me a case of the Winter seasonal variety.  Furnace guy came, ran trains a little bit, took kids out to lunch and just got home from Walmart with them. I bought them each a movie and now we are watching Kit Kitteridge American Girl or something? It's set in the early 30's, but no trains or trolleys so far....  Playing with RR track software while they are watching the movie, really.

Lee prayers for your aunt and fingers crossed you don't get laid off.

starting to feel better think it was smart idea taking off today as got some sleep and also cough enough to get me feeling better.

Not much going on here I won a auction the other night a 45N gate man from prewar as its all metal shipping Parcel Post so Guess I have about 2 weeks till I get it as its coming from CT. Now its my turn to moan and groan lol I really don't know why some one ships Parcel Post as the difference in cost normally doesn't make that much of a difference in shipping usually less than a dollar unless you get to bigger and heavier boxes .

Wheres Fife when you need him we made Fox news a lady came out of a grocery store and this nut case came to her knocked her down and wanted her car keys well she started screaming this by standard came running to her rescue pickup her frozen turkey and hit the guy with it he still got up and took her car but they caught him today I believe might have been last night as this happened yesterday.

Then ( here its getting real nutsy) one of our local county police was down in  GA at a store and a guy pull a gun on the clerk to hold the store up and the police officer pulled his weapon and shot him . I'm sure there was confutation involved for the office to shoot but still.

RT, we operated on a guy who was breaking into cars in a parking lot.  A guy was in his car watching all this and as the guy was heading his way, he shot the thief and called the cops....no charges against the armed citizen, but the thief got more than just a slap on the wrist.  Took out the bullet and sent him to jail.

Lee, we are about 15 minutes from Camilla.  Nice area, with lots of farms.  Just don't speed as the towns make a profit off speeders.  We will be out of town on Thursday, but if you are around late Friday through the weekend, email me.  As for your aunt, which hospital is she at?  A few down in that area that do heart surgery.  I know some of the folks.

Doug (not a grump!) I think I have your crud.  While I know this is a place that we tend to share, you could have kept this one to yourself.  As for the antibiotics, lots of nasty stuff out there that these days needs both antibiotics and steroids to kick.  Funny thing is, if you go on medical missions, it is amazing how the smallest doses of the weakest antibiotics kill just about anything in these areas.

For those going out of town, that will be off line, I'll wish you a Happy Thanksgiving now.  God Bless and have safe travels.

Dennis

A Blessed Thanksgiving to all the forum folks, travel safe!  For the first time in 36 years our immediate family will not all be together but that's OK, our son's have their memories to build.  We will travel just a little on TDay and very much looking forward to it.

No trains today but a little more CTT and some PS2 golf. Got the 09 Tiger Woods game and they changed all the controller functions around. Goofballs. Doug, I bought a 2-8-0 with Loco Sound for one of my granddaughters a few years ago and it is still going strong.  No cruise control, but the sounds are fine.  Kids are not looking for prototype sounds.  MTH only makes a few of the Loco Sound locos anymore.  Most of the sets now have PS2 locos. BTW, I do have an MTH 4-6-0 in PS2 and it is a nice running loco.

Thanks for the responses, but it looks as if a choo-choo purchase has been de-railed. Was going to start some baking for T-day tonite but it appears as the oven has died. Surprised it has lasted this long, 20+ yrs, but it would have been nice had it lasted just a few more days.  Banged Head

Hhmmm, wonder if Papa John's has a recipe for turkey & dressing pizza.  Blindfold

Sanctuary!  Okay Charles Laughton!  You got it, gotta pick up some banilla of course, Charlie seems ready, and I think Doug picked up a wheelbarrow full of popcorn, so maybe we can take that to Chief's house and hang out?  On the way Wink

Doug - sorry about that stove, but 20 years is pretty good service.  Will you have to have the new one delivered or can you get it and put it in yourself before T-Day?  Glad the crud is clearing!

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 40s.  Lucas is home and will be doing leaves for me today.  Wife will be cooking all day today for tomorrow's dinner.  Stayed up way too late to watch Brook win "Dancing with the Stars".  Julianne's brother finally won one.  Did go to the YMCA to do weights (actually wanted to kick soccer ball, but legs refused to cooperate).  I had the usual fare on the dining car this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Morning.  Fried bologna, egg and cheese sandwich for breakfast.  Shake and Bake, Pam says Pilgrims please.  She has looked the world over for Pilgrim cutouts.  FAir and cool but sarmer than days before.  Walked extra distance yesterday.  Trail around the Main Street Park [right across from my house] has several "short cuts".  I walked the outer trail as usual, came to a short cut and went down it back to the outer loop I had already walked and rewalked that section.  That ment climbing "cardiac hill" twice.  Dougsnotagrump, Texicans [speaking of such, where is Roy?] do it and call it smoking.  Takes a long time [cooked very slowly as not to burn the outer and cook the inner].  The craze here for a while was frying them in a deep turkey frier.  That is good.  Chat later.
