Good Evening from Blueberryhill....

It was a beautiful day today. Sunny and 77 degrees.

I have been dealing with a bad leg cramp for a couple days. Taking meds and using a heating pad. Walking is hard. Need to eat bananas.

Buckeye is still using the candle. Wants to return it to the store for not working. Bonfire on front lawn every night. Can't see the TV. LOL

Y'all have a nice evening.

It sure is good that I am such a nice guy.  If I wasn't, I would probably say something like,

"If those Ohizians wouldn't have bet so much on that game last week-end, they would have been able to pay the light bill."

But, that would really be cruel, so I would never say anything like that.  Hope they get their power back soon!

Tomorrow is the BIG day for the Chief !!  Hope it all goes well.

Hey, I've got an idea!!!  The Chiefs new place is closer to Ohio, we could send some extension cords and help Buckeye out.  Just know that the Chief will probably never get the electric service put under his name anyway.  So he wouldn't mind.  I'm sure there arn't very many people watching sports shows in Ohio anymore, so an 16 or 18 awg cord should be fine.   I wouldn't advise sending any wires that were Crimson and Gold in color though.

Hey guys, I'm parking the Tardis at Sir James' house tonight and he'll have the key until I get back.  Take it easy and I hope that electricity is restored, knees heal, and all are well for the next few days.  God bless, Jim

GOOD EVENING

A nice day here 78, got the grass cut and trimmed, suprising what four inch's of rain will do to the grass. I didn't find any weeds but I'll be watching.

Kurt- Did the engines measure out near scale? if so then they are the right size. What amuse's me are pictures of an 1880s engine sitting next to oh a 1940s, what a difference in size.

You all get ready for Thursday and I will get the banilla  ready for tonite. Brutus fire up the Tardis....S.J.

Evening Y'all!  Hope everyone is doing well.  Just checking in before heading to bed.  put in some more long hours so far this week.  Got a candidate coming up from Mississippi and one from Florida as well as a prospect from Sandy-Eggo as Doug would say.  I really hope it goes well for at least one and we bring them on board.....I am getting worn out.  It will be few months at least as Georgia Medical Licensing board takes at least 6 weeks once the application is received.

Watched a video on Tony Lash's layout.  It is impressive, even if the pros did it.  I may not agree with some of what Tony has to say about the industry, but he has done well with his business and with his layout.... a pleasure to watch.

Chief, good luck tomorrow.  I am sure all will go well.  Have you picked out a place for the second layout?  Somehow, I doubt you will be going with Realtrax.

May everyone have a blessed rest of the week.

Good morning from a sunny [for a change] dry Stockport, high presure over UK for a change [we have had the wettest summer on record].

If you rolled out an 80ft toilet roll and drew a pencil line on the very end that would represent how long humans have been on the planet, so what makes these numpties think that a few squashy creatures can affect this lump of rock? It's the financial system that needs sorting.

Going to vets. at 1020 BST for a full set of tests on my Diabetic condition. Should be a good result, have cut my intake of swig to 28 units [I used to spill more than that!] a week. Robinsons have gone on short time working and are laying people off!!! BMI down too, 32 to 28, got to lose another 22 lbs to hit the mythical 25 index, reckon I'll be there by the dreaded C-word.

ERNI has got an infection, I think it might be 'Antivirus XP2008 or 9' be very careful what you download guys it's a real nasty and is causing havoc over here.

Going to put Lionel down for a few running sessions. Got some spare cash [not much though] could run to a modest purchase-some track-maybe some cars, who knows?

Morning.  On the move.  Was up early with children [dogs].  Then snooxed on the couch.  Mom usually gets up early to go to work.  When she doesn't, they can not understand and start making noises.  Lots packed and ready to roll at 9 AM.  Go by house and drop off pickup with Ranger [truck loaded with boat stuff, new compressor, water hoses and new rolling reel and other junk.  4Runner loaded with house stuff.  Unload and go about 15 miles to closing.  Come back this evening and load up again.  Probably stay here tonight and go back tomorrow AM [if not, go back tonight].  Have to come back Sat. night as Pam teaching "old ladies" class Sunday AM.  Plans are I am going back Sunday PM or Monday AM to STAAAAAAY.   Later.

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 70s.  Soccer games tonight as the boys are home and "my" soccer girls take to the road.  Went to practice last night.  Watched some pretty ineffective efforts at corner kicks.  Coaches are discouraged and can't say I blame them.  Did some Second Life and some "work" work while wife watched "America's Got Talent".  Filled two trash cans with sticks and twigs knocked down by Ike.  Still more to do.  Buckeye, you are not the only ones without power.  Please tell Missus Buckeye that Hanover College has been w/o power for almost a week and they sent the kids home during that time.  I had toasted cinnamon bread and cereal on the dining car this morning and I am sending it to "Points East".   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good Morning

Sunny and 78 by afternoon. I am taking neighbor lady to the train station in a little while. She is going to  Chicago to see her new granddaughter. She claims she could not find anyone to take her to the station. Like they say, what can we do? At the moment no other plans for today, just see how it goes. TTFN...S.J.

Morning all. Nice day here. Hail to the Chief - may closing go smoothly. I think he is the only person buying a house in America today. Walked the youngest to school, with him complaining the entire way. The bride is out and about so I have a blissfully quiet time to work for a few hours before I walk over to pick him up. Will look out for sir james in the Tardis tonight...

Survived parents night at the high school. Must say I am impressed with their dedication. Hope Buckeyeville gets power back soon.

Day Four......No Power in Roger's Corners.  Sad [:(]

Boats at our small inland lakes were sunk in Sunday's storm.  Trailers overturned.  A two hundred old tree was destroyed at a local park.

New nasty people trick, drag your fallen limbs off of your property and use them to block the street.  The city now will show up and cut them up and carry them away.  (Chief, are you taking notes?)

Anybody heard from Wes?  Sure wish I could run some trains.  Need the therapy.

afternoon fellas.

Rather uneventful here as of late... which is a good thing.

I've spent the last couple weekends repainting the master bedroom. Finishing that tomorrow and then I'll spackle the crown molding in the master bathroom and get that project completed.

Fife, Wes, Buckeye, and anyone else wanting to participate in the Thursday night dinner, I would recommend the Isaac's Deli located at the intersection of US30 and 74:

Carlisle Commerce Center
2159 White St.
York, PA 17404

They have excellent food at reasonable prices, and it is convenient to the fairgrounds.

Jack - my gas mileage has gone up but I am having to refuel every 4 days instead of every 4.5, so really no big impact on my expenditures.

Speaking of cars...

On Saturday SusieQ and I were running ehrands when she says 'I don't think the A/C is working.' (we were in her BMW) It was working fine, just not up to her incredibly high standards, so we get home and she says, 'Go upstairs and put on some khakis and a dress shirt, we're going to look at cars.' *she was in a pant suit* so we end up at a BMW dealer and after 2 hours we are on our way home in a 2006 525i. Whistling [:-^] Good thing it is on her dime... OH Jack - I had to take back on Monday to have the Flat Tire Monitor checked as it was reporting a flat tire. By the time I got there I had the distance driven + distance to go up to 501 miles. SusieQ is driving it to work tomorrow... how much you wanna bet it will be down below 400 miles combined by the time she gets home! Wink [;)]

'Will he bring me flowers and chocolates?'

Good mornin', ya'll,

Beautiful crisp and clear earlier this morning here in NE Taxachussetts, 40s.  Low 70s today.

Please say a prayer for my old dog, Duke.  Following last month's "clean" annual physical, dog went to bed in the pink of health Sunday night and woke up Monday AM severely lame (one leg), and we and the vets can't figure it out.  Lyme ruled out.  No swelling.  No fever.  No known "incident" or activity that we know of that could have caused it.  Dog in for imaging (x-rays) now.  I'm crossing my fingers and fretting as if he's one of my children.

Later,

Jack

Jack, In some ways it is worse then with your children, they can't tell you what is wrong. After the loss of my last buddy, even though he loved to make a mess of the sawdust when I tried to clean up, I decided no more critters. When I was doing some cabinet work he went everywhere with me, they knew him at our bank and always managed to find him a treat of some sort. An AKC pedigree with a mutt mentality. Sad [:(]

To this day some of our friends try to convince my better half that we need another.

Tared [Southern for tired]!!!!  Helped the old owners load a big trailer of their "stuff".  Weze ownz itz.  Home tonight.  Then take down a short wooden fence at Gail's up the street.  Take it to Lake House [now named Eagles Nest] and put it up to contain Wildthing [Lucy].  Hope to go back by noon or so.  Then I can start my work after installing fence.  Golf cart charging when I left.  Guy is buying his lawnmower [52" deck] back for $2,500.  I will go buy a small decked John Deere for $2,000.  52" deck gaps up the yard as I saw that today as his wife mowed.  Anyone want to buy a 21 Maco with 200 Yamaha [radar, depth finder, outriggers and etc].  Hungry as not eaten sincee lunch [a small one at that].  Later

PS: hope the Buckeyes get power soon.

Good evening from beautiful Southern Ohio

It was really nice today.  I have been off the last couple of days working; it is good to be back at work.  I finished cleaning out daughter's basement and garage.  That was a nasty job, and yesterday helped a friend pour a concrete slab.  I was to only rake and help screed, but the "contractor" he hired was less than adequate to say the least.  Shiny new concrete finishing tools are a bad sign.  I am glad I took my stuff.  I am getting too old to finish concrete!

Wes-take it easy on the knee, like they said get the range of motion back.  Dropping the weight was the best thing you could have done for your knees.

Chief - Ate breakfast at Bob Evans yesterday had multigrain pancakes and grits.  Stayed with me all day.  Hearty breakfast helped wile I was doing the concrete work.  BTW, I hope the move goes well.

Jack - Prayers sent up for Duke, how is he doing?

Roger - Cool tender!

Jon and Doug - I agree.  It has been a year and a half since my friend Sue died, and I still miss her.  I do not want another dog.  Our inside dog a Yorkshire terrier is slowing down.  She has an inoperable tumor the size of a tennis ball on a mamallary gland.  Starting to cough a lot so I figure it has spread to the lungs.  When she starts showing pain, I will put her down, the n no more pets!!!

Well, I need to get back to work.  I'll check back later

May God bless

Jack, I know all too well how hard it is.  As with Doug, lost my best friend this year.  We had lost a female dog last year and that was tough, but when the male, whom I had for 10 years died, it was too tough.  You will go through anything and do anything to make them better.  I pray that yours comes through OK.  Unlike Doug, we have two small children and SWMBO pressed me that we needed to get another dog for the kids, and her.  Turned out to be a good thing, he is a great dog, but I still miss Gunny.

Buckeye, hope things are getting fixed up over there.  Down these parts, most power lines are under ground, so rarely do we lose power.  If a line does go down, they are very quick to get it back up.  We had a tornado come through five years ago and take out a few power stations.  They isolated them and had power back up in under two hours.  I think that was the worse incident.

Chief, glad things are done with the house.  I hope the transition is quick and that you get the "Eagle's Nest" up and running soon.  Glad you are moving into an established house as when we bought new.....everything needed to be bought.  Window treatments, fixtures, etc.

Got another big day tomorrow.  Several cases that are sure to keep me busy.  At least I will be off call next week and we already purchased the tickets for the movie opening for next Friday.  I am sure it will be a sell out at the local theater.  I also picked up six extra tickets to give away to folks.  Just need to figure out who to give them to.

Well, I hope everyone has a great end of the week.  May Buckeye get some power and Jack's dog get well.

God Bless,

Dennis
