Good evening gents. Nice to see som activity and chat over here today I do hope we can make Jame's aquaintance more as well. As Tom said I do live in Brantford. I suspect that St Thomas and your old haunts have changed a fair bit since you were last there as a good deal of the trackage is sadly gone.As Tom mentioned though please pop over to the bar we don't bite.Nick lots of neat bits of this and that I love that little rail bus Well here is today's pic.
A little something from Home for James
Rob
Well here we are again-once more it`s thursday at the little thread that could-and hello James -O.K:- In order to show our new Ontarian (?) friend the diversity that is the order of the day here, lets have a touch of ancient and modern from the old country.....

Here we have a Beyer-Peacock 0-6-0t (not sure which one) easing through the streets of Welshpool towards Llanfair Caereinion-poss. early `20`s
And here-just to tweak TOMS nose a little -is a Walker railcar on a sunday working on the County Donegal Rly-late `50`s
And finally, some contempory Southern electric stuff-a Waterloo bound 8 car service awaits departure from the bay (plat 1) at Guildford-earlier this year
enjoy !!
G'day!
A departure from my normal daily contribution to this lonely Thread - I see a friendly face!
Hello James! You won't believe this - BUT - Brantford is a special place for a couple of us. First - Rob lives there! And I've been a visitor on a couple of occasions - we had our 1st Annual "Our" Place Classic Trains Rendezvous in Toronto <2006> with the guys staying at a hotel in Brantford - Rob was our host.
I recently visited with Rob in Brantford <May> with some passenger railroading thrown in . . .
Yes, the Halton County museum is indeed the one Rob mentions. It's a great place - as I'm sure you well know!
Anyway - there's all kinds to pass along - but it would be better over at the bar - which is "Our" Place. Where is it On the Classic Trains main Page - look for it under General Discussion. Won't be hard to find at all.
Highly recommend that you read the FIRST PAGE - then check out 4 or 5 of the last Pages, just to give you an idea of how we do things at this adult bar 'n grill in the Ether. Also, "click" on the cyber names of our crew - just to check out their profiles. Most of the boyz have provided some meaningful stuff to help others get acquainted . . .
On your SECOND visit - you'll receive a warm welcome from the boyz plus a free drink! Can't beat that, eh
Glad you have found this Thread to your liking - but I think you'll enjoy the bar soooooooooo much more. The idea of this Thread is rather simple - drop off a foto or two 'n hope some discussion ensues. Hardly does . . . but we try! <grin>
Looking forward to "meeting" you at the bar . . .
Tom, Proprietor of "Our" Place
Just spent about an hour and a half going through this thread, great stuff guys. I have been around for some time but seems I have to reregister every time I am away for a while.
I live in St. Thomas Ontario and grew up within a block of the T H & B on Cayuga street in Brantford, and know it well. I have been meaning to return there and see my old haunts again, I used to watch trains at the CN station pre via, and took some shots there plus with a friend I used to go to Toronto in the early 70's to take pictures there mostly on slides though.
The museum Rob keeps refrring to is that the Halton County Radial Line? Also where is this bar you keep talkin g about?
I promise I will keep watching though now I am here.
James
