G'day!
Shane's back from vacation - Rob's gone-zo on holiday . . . so, I'll hold things down 'round here for a bit . . .
A Saturday offering!
Milwaukee Road
Enjoy!
Tom
Good afternoon All:
Finally getting caught up with picutres, etc. All sorts of interesting items out yhere. Especially enjoyed the NH I5-based travel poster.
work safe
Always a treat to have Nick provide his quartets of fotos . . . and of course having Rob as a maintstay.
Really - only one foto is sufficient at this lonely outpost, after all -we're hardly setting any records for interaction - except amongst ourselves, which we do quite well at the bar! <grin>
Mine for this Friday . . .
Canadian Pacific Railway
Well howdy pardners-Nice to see PETE in with a beauty of a shot of the great Sir Nigel G.-shows off the`lines` perfectly -ROB`s crane shot another highlight pour moi -the Boss continues to mix and match with top notch printed material-great stuff !!!!
James-`fraid I dont have anything from the T.H.B either in the archives or on the layout...Think the best I can do is a C.P freight on T.H.B metals-part of a 4in1 -lets see now.............

Dont think any of these are exactly what I`m looking for,but by the time I`ve checked through the whole of my scans I will have forgotten what I was looking for anyway.....
So-Some assorted Canadiana for the gang
Enjoy
That's a fine poster from the good Somehting from the local area again this morning.

Nice shot from R one there Tom.How could I forget. Well a night one from me.
One from the archeives. Lake Erie and Northern 797 at Galt Ontario. This car is currently under restoration at our museum. A complete refurb from the bottom up.
I see the boyz from the bar are keeping things hoppin' over here . . . AND Pete made it over too!
So, we've got Nick - Pete 'n Rob contributing, along with Moi . . . looks like we're feeding ourselves, eh Might be time to cut this thing adrift, as we're surely not getting any takers for the bar.
Well, I've said that before 'n we're STILL here!
Couldn't resist this one, Rob . . . remember what we were doing I snapped it
Afternoon guys. James, not much left of the old TH&B now,but CN is still serving the major industries that are on it and take rail service. It's still;a bit odd seeing CN geeps pulling the freights past the old TH&B station downtown but at least it still getting a fair bit of use.You can still ride the old TTC cars you just have to come upto the museum
Lets see what's on tap for this afternoon. I see Pete's been in with a wonderfull shot of the Mallard
Another PCC on Carleton street in Toronto
HI Gents
Popped over from the bar, great photos and magazine covers.
A photo of LNER A4 Mallard backing down to take over a railtour on July 3rd 1988 to celebrate the record run 50 years earlier.
There are some more photos of Mallard at the Our Place site.
Pete.
LOve those old pics of the TTC, I used to ride it often back in the early seventies, though I never rode that really old car.
Actually I have only been to the station hobby shop once, and it turned out I knew the proprietor Rob Thompson, a fellow eagle place guy. Too bad he is closing but such seems to be the way for hobby shops.
I never even got to Brantford on Sunday but will definitly be there this Sunday coming and will make a point of checking out the TH & B my favourite, or rather whats left of it. My dad was a sectionman and later foreman on the Waterford Subdivision and I used to ride the cabs of the west local when it was really busy back in the sixties.
Keep the pictures coming.
James
Some nice shots from that masked man from Westwales.Lets see another shot for this evening for you gents.
TTC crane car C2 now liveing SOB at the Rock Hill trolley museum, our museum has sister car C1.Both were built in house in Toronto by the TTC predessesor Toronto Railway Company in 1912.
Good to see TOM & Count ROBULLA keeping up the old Batman & Robin tag-team routine-and good stuff it is too..
Think I will go for atmosphere tonight.........
First up we have a selection of views around the yard at Portmadoc -the south end of the Welsh Highland Railway (also I notice, one from the Teifi Valley Rly @ Newcastle Emlyn) -The history of these side and top loading cars has been covered at the bar
Nearer the other end of the line, top,we have a southbound service at Dinas Junction-at this point still on the former std gauge r-o-w ( I believe the footpath on the left marks the approx course of the Nantlle Rly-a horse tramway that was one of the earliest in Wales
Lower pic-the same train running round at the then terminus of Waunfawr with the western foothills of Snowdon as a backdrop
O.K-take care
Lets see another happy shot for this little thread.
Snow sweeper S37 at the museum.
That's an interesting looking contraption on that cover,a good one to be sure.So since you like w Witt's here 's some more.

1953 Michigan's Lumber Pikes
Good to see things are still progressing over here.Great stuff from the bossman Lars and Nick. Indeed just like old times ( olde tymes ) for Nick James good to see you again. If the Sattion Hobby shop was one of your old haunts haunt it sooner as opposed to later as they are winding things down sadley.Always an open invite for the bar as well
Lets see what's up for today.
Something near and dear to moi.A CLRV on Parliament Street in Toronto
Well,as it`s sunday,lets have something completely different...........
Here we have a Messerschmitt 3-wheeler (2-stroke engine) outside Llangwm school-part of the carnival vintage car procession
And here we have a couple of tall ships, plus a coastguard cutter,in Milford docks during the seafair festival
So it`s trains you want then--Well here is German built 0-8-0t "Sir Drefaldwyn" at castle Caereinion on the Welshpool & Llanfair-a wonderful sleepy spot in the middle of nowhere ...
Good to see Nick over here from the bar . . . gets a tad lonely on this Thread. Far more activity at "Our" Place . . . but we keep trying, eh
Mine for this Sunday . . .
1944 Speeding Through the West
Well here we all are....LARSMAN !!!!!-good to see you,JAMES is still with us (between dodging the near and dear) lets try something different this night.......
Here we have the end of platform main starter & run-round loop arms at Rosslare Europort on an early summers evening
And a touch more Irish whimsy-A monthly cattle special (the only traffic left at this time ) at Castlegregory Jn on the Tralee & Dingle,c1953
Seems like olde tymes with Lars 'n Rob at this lonely Thread!
Mine for this Saturday . . .

Lars
Thanks for the welcome and I will definitly keep checking and discussing here. though not so sure about the bar.
Love the photos and I will make an attempt to get into the bar early next week, but for now I have to shuffle off to Buffalo, for the weekend. Might be in Brantford tomorrow and maybe check out my old haunts a bit if I can get away from the dreaded in laws for a while.

You, Nick 'n Rob seem to be holding things together on a thread we all thought was going to fold up, several times.
Thought I'd drop this off, as you KNOW I just love the NYC . . . and at Cap'n Tom's favorite time of year at that!
Hope to see ya over at the bar on Saturday for our anniversary celebation!
Been awhile since I did a "back to back" on this Thread . . . so here's another on this end of the work week <for many>!
