G'day Gents!
Always good to see the boyz from the bar swing by . . . thanx Rob 'n Nick for helping to keep this lonely Thread up 'n running . . . appears we're not doing very well at "hooking" any customers though. Getting somewhat O-L-D. <grumble> <mumble>

For James: In order to Post fotos on these Forums, you'll require a hosting site. Recommend PhotoBucket . . . most of our crew uses it - no cost to the user. <Although some of us have paid accounts just to help defray the costs for those folks.> Not too difficult to master . . . Establish your account then ship me an Email via the Fourms 'n I'll walk you through the "necessaries" . . .
Enjoy!
Tom
Good afternoon all: Just a quick stop - lots of good material recently. I remember photographing ONR power at Spadina as well. About 1976, IIRC. Now, where are the pictures?
work safe
More great pictures, makes me want to get into my slide collection, I have pictures taken of those ONR F units at Spadina street Engine House in their old livery green and yellow as I recall and they had the Ontario Coat of Arms on the nose. I always thought that was a nice touch, that and the chrome plated grills on the sides.
Can you upload pictures directly or do you have to do it through a hosting site, I am inspired to try and put some of my older pictures here? Also I have to say I am defintly technologically impaired, so make the description easy. There are a few treats though you might enjoy
Hey Nick glad you liked the big ONR SD.I always thought the way to the heart was throught he stomach Espeacially if it's done with some good beer The little Lake of Bays steamers are 0-4-o saddles I believe. I'll have to find my shot of them and rescan it and post it again ( the original scan went down with the railimages ship unfortunatly )Lets see one more teaser for you.
Shot of two of the stored ONR F's in 2005
Rob
Nice one ROB-You know the way to a mans heart (straight through his ribs according to missisnick..but I digress) So-are you gonna tease us with a description of those little lake of bays steamers...?-I`m guessing wee Porter type 0-4-0 saddle tanks...although it would be a treat to find an old Baldwin 4-6-0t or something even stranger serving out it`s days up in the Northlands...........
Good evening folks, another hot humid one here sounds like a storms brewing out there as well.Any how a beaut of a steamer from Nick Loved Tom's NP shot too I really was amazed by that freight shot I've blown it up to full screen size and set it as my background on the comp.I'm amazed at the detail my little digi. cam. picked up on that one.Lets see what's up for tonight.
An ONR shot for giggles.
All looking good out here on the cutting edge-plenty of variety..,forgot to mention before how much I like that original Turbo Train livery-that & the C.N Zebra `F` units were the earliest images I can recall of the N.American `scene`and they remain potent for me still.....
Back in dear old Blighty meanwhile, here is the Duke of Gloucester easing through H/West some weeks ago

Enjoy your day !!
G'day!
A Monday offering . . . after a nice looking freight from Rob last nite . . .
Good evening folks. Couple neat sets of heralds from Tom I aggree that teh Maroon and Grey is the best for CP livery however that particular unit never wore it.As James thought I'm fairly certain that that is oen of the ex TH&B's one of the 400's I'll have to do some digging. If it wasn't one of the TH&B's it would have been an ex Soo line unit.Lets see what's up for today.
Another fairly recent shot from bayview jct.
enjoy
Sunday special . . .
"Drumhead" logos such as these often adorned the ends of observation cars on the Southern Belle.
Yeah, Rob - can't go wrong with CP, although in marron/grey 'n the beaver herald - now that's a sure fire winner!
Seems like yesterday, doesn't it James Happens when the years go by so <censored> fast . . . must be getting O-L-D! <grin>
My Saturday special before heading back to the bar . . . .
Southern Belle Passenger Train
GReat pictures one and all I really like the Duchess Of Sutherland those British steam engines were really clean and sleek looking.
I do recall our discussion a few years back of Canadian passenger service Tom, seems hard to believe it was a few years ago.
The Turbo train picture brings back a specific memory from the early seventies. I went from Brantford to Montreal in one day, which was just possible with the turbo train. I left on the first train in the morning I believe it was by them an RDC not the International Limited. In torornto I got the Turbo train which loaded at track one, rather than from any of the gates down in the concourse. Came back on the afternoon Rapido and got the last train west from Toronto that night. Was a great day.
Is that one of the old TH&B engines Rob?
James
Tom that's another good one I like it here is mine for the day.
Aother old warrior this one on the CP and in the latest paint scheme to boot.
Way to go Nick 'n Rob . . . keeping things goin' over here with all kinds of diversity. Don't believe we've ever seen model trains on this lonely Thread . . . but they "fit" into the Classics theme, fer sure, fer sure!

I really like those old travel posters Tom, it takes you back to when things were a bit less hurried and the journey was as important as the destination.
