Good morning everyone.

We'll all need the coffee and rolls because much of the continental USA is currently socked by some pretty awful weather (it's raining outside as I type this, with thunderstorms coming later this afternoon Shock [:O] ).

Will come back later for slices of Supreme topping pizza. Dinner [dinner]

Good Saturday morning.  Even though it's a rainy morning here in Louisville.  It's a light, steady rain now; but might be heavy later on today.  Total of about 1 to 2 inches.

Joe, thanks for the good breakfast this morning!  Appreciate you helping out this morning.

Brian, thanks for the recipe!!  I'll be trying it out very soon!!

Everyone have a good day, and take care out there!!

I was almost stumped by the question. Wind farms stretch north and south from Cherokee IA ;from US 20 up to US 18. This was shot just east of Cherokee on State Route 3. I can't remember if they all look exactly like this because there are several different projects.

Ah, WAAAAY northwest of me.  Those are almost in Ray's neck of the woods.  The windmill farms I've seen are up southwest and north of Mason City.

Up early this morning, going to help out a new men's work group at church that meets twice a month to handle fix-it projects.

....Fully agree with Tree....They are graceful.   Just a steady and not too fast rotation in most winds with very little noise.  Their design, {The one's supported on tall white tubes}, is not junky just sleek and graceful standing there doing the job.  The end result will probably not lower our rates but certainly the power companys wouldn't be totally under the thumb of the far east for fuel and at their every whim of cutting production and output, etc., where oil is used to generate power.

Like the idea of the wind turbines!  But, I doubt they'd want to use them anywhere around here.  Already have people complaining about building two more bridges, to help out the congestion around our Spaghetti Junction.  And the powers-that-be seem to be dragging themselves on getting started on building even one of the bridges.  In the east end, all you hear is "NOT IN MY BACKYARD!!"  Enough of that topic.Banged Head [banghead]

I've got the next go-around of our FRIDAY FISH FRY ready.  So everyone help yourselves, and see ya later, aligator.Wink [;)]

I can't see these structures harming anyone if placed discretely in location.  They make little noise and {in my opinion, are not unsightly}, and do the job.  And without a drop of foreign oil.

There is a very vocal anti contingent in a town near me that is being approached by developers of wind power farms - if there is an argument against the turbines, they've managed to dig it up.  The funny part is that they are worried mostly about the turbines ruining their view of the river, and the turbines will be inland (behind) their properties, as oriented to the river.

In a bit of poetic justice, a large Canadian island across the St Lawrence from this town is considering a wind project, which will put the turbines square in the view of these folks....

I've seen them (there is a large development (150+) not far south of here), and they are really kind of graceful....  When one considers that (capital costs notwithstanding) they will be free electricity, so much the better!

I am off - to see the derail at our watch site!  Cool [8D]  They say just a couple of coal cars "slipped" off the rails.  I can't wait to see this one!  And it would have been in someone's back yard, too!

Look honey, our garden is coming up - in coal?  !!!!!

See you Monday!

We have two wind turbines here in town - but with the way the wind blows in this city/state - I think they ought to have a lot more.  Iowa has the right idea!

Sounds like we had a small "coal" derailment at our watch site last nite - must go investigate....

Hey everyone, hope you all are having a good day so far.  I need to go pick up my medicine, so thought I'd get lunch on the warmer bar, before I go.  Here's today's FRIDAY FISH FRY menu:  catfish, cod, haddock, hallibut, perch, salmon and shrimp.  There's also plenty of fries (especially for Matt), hushpuppies, and cole slaw.

There is also a wide variety of desserts in the cooler, so pick what you'd like for dessert.

So they're going to put that lake-effect-snow-making wind to some good use, eh?  The scenery in Northern Iowa is beginning to make me wonder about one of our more popular slogans- I think they aughta change it from "Tall Corn State" to "Tall Windmill State"!

Wild Prairie Rose (Rosa Pratincola) is most often cited as the official flower. Wild Prairie Turbine sounds like a good choice.

According to the weatherman, we're going to see that same system (very possibly with the same results) here in the wilds of northern New York before long.....  Good thing I haven't put the snow blower away, yet....

The wind power people had an "open house" last night at our fire department social hall.  They're planning about 50 turbines in my general vicinity and wanted to fill people in on what's going on.

They also bought donuts, and had a couple dozen assorted types left over.  They're on the counter.  Excuse me while I step out of the way...

I am going to be very good and wait for someone to make pancakes for breakfast.  Got my list ready.

Blueberry, chocolate chip, whole grain, oatmeal, cornmeal, plain, potato, strawberry, tomato, bacon, cheese, hamburger, taco, prune, pizza............   sigh.....

Mookie, breakfast is ready:  PANCAKES and sausage.  Got your blueberry, chocolate chip, whole grain, strawberry, and plain pancakes.  Also have some bacon, if anyone wants bacon with their pancakes.  And you did a fantastic job of waiting patiently, too!!

And, of course, coffee, fresh juice, hot tea, hot chocolate and hot cider are ready and waiting.

Everyone have a great day, and hopefully, mudchicken and everyone else will stay warm and dry today!!

Bob, your request for Navajo Tacos w/Fry Bread, is what is being fixed for supper tonight.  I have cooked the beans, and am preparing the Fry Bread (it is "setting" for 15 minutes.  While that sets, I browning the ground round (I prefer using that, since it has left grease than ground beef), and dicing onions and tomatoes, and shredding lettuce.

Do you have any more recipes you'd like to share with me?  I'd be glad to have them.

Everything will be ready and on the warmer bar shortly.

We have another thing in common!  I did lights in HS, branched out to stage manager.  Learned to direct but never actually did a show as director.

Don't sell yourself short - good lighting can make the show!

Our first show was this morning at 9:30 for a bunch of grade school kids. Everything went great, including the lights. There was one blooper with the lights near the end of the first act, but I got that resolved quickly. Now, hopefully the next five shows will be as good as this first one was.

CW - Mexican food is fine with me for this evening. Spokyone's request also sounds pretty good, so I'm up for about anything.

Well, I've finally gotten lunch together.  Seems I had a terrible time waking up this morning, but I believe I'm actually awake, now.  So, on the warmer bar, you will find:

vegetable beef soup w/fresh from the oven cornbread, grilled cheese sandwiches, and PB&J sandwiches, and I made sliced some potatoes, very thin, and baked them in the oven, so we have baked "tater chips", that don't have all the salt , and they were baked in olive oil.  They're very tasty, too (cook just had to try it out for herself, you know)!Blush [:I]Big Smile [:D]

Now, I'm taking a "survey" for supper/dinner tonight.  Would you like tonight's meal to be Mexican themed, or what would you like to have tonight?  Come on, everyone:  don't be shy, give me your food requests for tonight!!  I WANT SOME INPUT FROM YOU ALL!!
