Good Easter Sunday morning to one and all!!

Ray, how come you've been a stranger in here lately?!?!  And thank you very much for the very nice breakfast this morning.  That coffee and juice sure are good this morning, to me:  I've been sneezing my head off all morning.

I've got Sunday Dinner in the oven:  one and a half hams are baking as we speak.  The side dishes will be shelly beans w/onion cooked in them, corn, potato salad, Watergate salad, deviled eggs, mashed taters w/brown gravy, fruit salad, and a bunny shaped and decorated cake.  Also have dinner rolls, crescent rolls and homemade biscuits (they'll go on in the oven about 12:30, so we can all start eating at 1 p.m. EDT).

Everyone have a great Easter Sunday, and don't let the kiddos have too much candy this morning!!

HE IS RISEN!!

And a good, Easter Sunday morning to everyone out there. He is Risen!!

Since it looks like I am the first one in the Diner this morning, I'll take charge of serving breakfast. The coffee is brewing, and I've mixed a fresh batch of orange juice. On the menu for breakfast: bacon, pork sausage links, scrambled eggs with or without diced ham, blueberry pancakes, banana nut muffins and Cinnamon rolls. Better grab a roll while they are still warm! Chef [C=:-)]

I will be baking bread for my family's easter dinner later this afternoon, there will be quite a mob when my brothers, sisters and all the neices and nephews get together.

I hope everyone has a good day!

Had a very nice day with Carl and Pat. As planned, Pat and my mom went looking at antiques and me and Carl stayed by the train tracks. What a parade Union Pacific sent through. We saw 16 trains while Carl and Pat were with us and three more after they left. My only complaint about today is the cold temperatures. The high only made it to 36 degrees.

I doubt that I will be in tomorrow, so I will wish everyone a happy Easter right now.

Since I didn't make it back in last night, for a late evening snack, there will also be, around 9 p.m. EDT, popcorn popped in the fireplace.  Sounds nice and warm, doesn't it.

Now, to get my potato salad fixed for tomorrow.

Never ask for Canadien Bacon in Montreal . I did , the waitress in her pretty little french accent simply said ,"that's bacon , this IS Canada, any questions"?..... got to admit , she had me on that one !!!

Quiet in here today.  Then again, it's spring, and mostly nice outside (although the lake effect machine is running in traditional areas).  Bit nippy outside, and I have inside stuff to do.  Better get to it....

Headed out with friends (non-rail types) for Mexican and music tonight, so will miss the pizza.

Good Saturday morning, all!  Joe, thank you so much for putting the coffee on, and making the juice.  I don't think we're due to get any flurries or snow showers today, but it is going to be a very cold day.  But I'd bet the church across the street will still hide the eggs outside for the kids.  I've seen them do it before!!

For breakfast this morning, I've made pancakes, waffles, sausages, turkey bacon, biscuits and sausage gravy.  It's on the warmer bar, ready and waitin', so help yourselves.

I haven't talked with Carl and Pat yet, but I plan on calling them this evening. Hopefully they made it safely. I can't wait to see them tomorrow! I believe Pat and my mom are going to look at some antiques while Carl and I train watch. That way everyone will be happy.

Dan - My best guess-timate on when warmer weather will arrive is early next week, especially for Nebraska. It looks like you will be stuck in the 40s through next week, if not longer, before substantially warmer air comes your way.

EDIT: Mudchicken - I heard from Carl and Pat and they are doing fine. They actually took Highway 30 across much of Nebraska, thus avoiding a lot of the mayhem of I-80.

Snirt and snizzle here all day. Good day to do research....We must have been the only folks working in the building today.

Chris, that photo is beautiful!  I really like it!!!

Bob, like the latest smilies you've got up!

Duff, glad to hear you're doing better, and do NOT have preeclampsia!  You rest as much as you can, and here are a couple of tuna salad sandwiches and some mixed veggies and fruit for you.

For everyone else, there's more fish, fries, hushpuppies and corn on the cob on the warmer bar.  Cole slaw, salads, and desserts are in the cooler.  Everyone have a great evening, and I'll probably be in later to fix up some late evening snacks.

Chris - very nice picture. Unfortunately, it has been so cold here that the tulips in our front garden were destroyed by the frost, even though we covered them. It really made me mad because at our old house we never had more than just one or two tulips bloom since the squirrles were always digging up the bulbs. Our new neighborhood doesn't have many squirrles, so the tulips were looking like they would be beautiful, but then the frost hit. It just got too darn cold.

Lows tonight and Saturday night will be in the teens and these should set new records. I can't wait for warmer weather to return.

Good news, I do not have preeclampsia!, The doctor just saw that I had a case of high blood pressure. He did advise me to take it easier than I am though, that means I can’t do things around the house as much, and rest more. Sadie is in great health, as am I, so things are fine.

I still think I want to hold off on the salty stuff for a while anyway, sort of as a precaution. So today I will have…..two tuna salad sandwiches, and some fruit. With orange juice.

With the fish fry I will have a grilled salmon, with veggies. No fries until Sadie is out at least
