Just a quick reminder to everyone that cold, rainy days may not be the best for railroad photography (though some of my personal favorite railroad shots were taken on such days), they work tremendously well for spring flowers...
Hope you all have a great Easter!

You just have to get in ahead of Matt for those fries....

I caught wind of a new Firefox add-on over in fuzzybroken's 3um the other day, so I decided to give it a try. It's not perfect- the buttons don't just insert a smiley into the text box like they should, but I get around that by bringing up the smiley in a preview window and getting the web address out of the properties box.

Hear, hear. And what a Good Friday it will be. I'll take some (like 2-3 bowls) oatmeal.
Good Friday morning, all, on this GOOD FRIDAY!
Erie Lackawanna, to the DD/CS! Always glad to have new people come in here! Hope you come in often.
Coffee is ready, fresh juice is made, and there's also plenty of hot chocolate and hot tea this morning. On the breakfast bar: doughnuts of every kind, turkey bacon, sausage, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, hash browns, tater tots, grits, oatmeal, toast, country fried ham w/red-eye gravy.
For anyone traveling this weekend, PLEASE BE CAREFUL, DRIVE SAFELY, and come back next week, safe and sound!!

Grats Emmar! What are ya studying, railroad engineering?
I hope there is sumthin' good to eat tomorrow morning. I plan on being very hungry when I wake up.
Here's one for emmar and Dan-
Just be glad you're doing that instead of this, Larry.
Oh, and , EL!
My sister swears by Peeps toasted over a campfire.
We "enjoyed" some winter weather today - started out with black ice on the roads (and a few accidents) and ended up with enough of the white stuff to cover the ground well. Of course, it was 'lake enhanced' so there's none at my house at all...
The "first call" ambulance crew did a transport to Syracuse early this morning so I had to go nap at the squad (instead of in my cozy waterbed). Ended up responding to one of those cars off the road - fortunately there were no injuries... Was late for work, but just in time for a conference call. Not much snow by the time I got to work, but plenty a short while later, after the conference call. Sheesh!
Tonight the stars are out in force - and the wind chill is 7 degrees. At least it's above zero...
Fire meeting tonight - plenty of munchies and liquid refreshments after, so I'll just peek into the cooler to see what looks good....

Joe, the "Melted Marshmellows" are great!!!!! (You can keep the Yams!!)
Erie-Lackawanna, don't be a stranger, you are welcome here.
I'm not a coffeeshop regular, but I dropped in and saw Emmar's post and want to give my congratulations.
My dad, a lifelong TRAINS subscriber and railfan was a Princeton grad. He'd ride the dinky (the little passenger train that comes on to campus) down to Princeton Jct to watch trains when he had time.
It's not only a great school, but a great place to railfan.
Congrats.
Congratulations to both Emma and Dan!!!
Hmmm... I don't really care for Peeps the way it is. Soak them in chocolate and I would probably get sick.
Two to Emma and Dan! Emma, congratulations on getting accepted to Princeton: I know you'll do a great job with your studies there! And Dan, congratulations on your upcoming graduation from UW Oshkosh! Also, Dan, congrats on the 1000th post!
To celebrate tonight, I've taken a large sheet cake of chocolate cake out of the freezer, and it's ready for dessert tonight! Got more roast, chilli, etc. on the warmer bar for supper/din din tonight.
