PS - Dan - we have seen a lot of MT coal trains headed east with 2 engines on front and 2 on rear.  I keep thinking that with the new engines coming on board and with spring (altho I am not sure what weather has to do with it for sure) that BNSF is moving power around the system.  Just seems to be a lot of engines moving through here all at once.

Mookie - thanks for taking attendance!  It's nice to know who is actually here!!  Not a whole lot of the gang, is it?!?!  Sad [:(]  Guess everybody's out enjoying the sunshine, before the next round of rains start.

So lunch today will be all kinds of sandwiches, which I've made up, and have in the large cooler (not the one for salads and desserts).  I've also put all kinds of chips on the counter, and you all can fix your plates, and maybe go out on the patio to eat lunch, enjoy the garden, and see the trains rolling by.

If the rain holds off, I'll grill pork chops for supper tonight, using Brian's recipe.  If it starts raining, though, maybe I'll fix some beef stew and cornbread.

Here!  Saw two more BNSF units today.  One was a green and white 'Executive' EMD, other was orange/green.  Same consist had one NS and one CSX in it.  15 minutes later there was two UP's and a CP.  All I need now is some KCS!  EEK!  Too many letters....

CW - Looks like you're just outside the tornado watch area.  If things continue to track they way they are, and sundown doesn't cool things down, we may be looking at some heavy weather overnight.

Whatever is for supper, I'll take some.

Looks like Louisville is right on the edge of the watch. Hopefully everything will be ok for CW and Mutt.

I have a day off from school tomorrow, so hopefully I can get out and see some trains. The weather is actually going to be nice with a high of 70 degrees and plenty of sun. Then the heat really gets cranking and we could be in the mid 80s by Sunday and Monday. This crazy Nebraska weather...

Larry and Willy, they just announced a few minutes ago, that we are under a Tornado Watch until 11 p.m. EDT tonight.  So, I'm glad I went ahead and fired up the grill, and did the put the pork chops on at 3 p.m.  Everything is now ready, and on the warmer bar, and we have the usual grill-out side dishes:  corn on the cob, baked beans, green beans, and all the cold things, like potato salad, and deviled eggs, cole slaw, etc.  So everyone come and grab a plate, and fill it as high you like.

Joe and Lance, there are plates made up for you two to take to work tonight.  They're in the fridge, with your names on them.

Everyone take care, batten down the hatches if you need to, and stay safe and sound tonight!

....In the last two days we received about 2" of rain here in central Indiana and really at our location, no rough stuff.  A good thing.  Had a few lines of weather working through Indiana this afternoon and early evening but they are just about all past us now.

Item:  Several weeks ago our local newspaper...{The StarPress}, had  an article of gas prices speaking of the upcoming Summer driving season....Oh, it would most likely not go above 2.67 a gal during the upcoming season...We'll today here in the area, and the Indy area, it already went to 2.99 a gal....Didn't take them long to get greedy.  Rose from 2.66 yesterday.  The prediction in the paper was baring any catastrophic happenings in the oil producing areas and it seems to be similar as the last few months.....But then they really don't need much of a reason to push it up higher for our Summer driving season upcoming.

Good Friday morning, everyone!  TGIF!!

Coffee is on, fresh juice is made and in the fridge, and heating water  for hot chocolate and hot tea.

You will find an assortment of doughnuts, muffins, danish and bear claws on the counter this morning.

Quentin, glad to hear you all didn't have any bad weather up your way.  Did hear on the news this morning, that a tornado(es) struck somewhere in Indiana.  I just didn't hear exactly where.    All we got was a few minutes of medium heavy rain, and that was it.  Five minutes later, the sun was out in full force, practically blinding you, it was so bright.

Everyone have a great morning, and take care!!

We're damp this morning, but I don't think the possible thunderstorms developed here last night.  Shouldn't be bad for the weekend - sunny Sunday, which is good as the lawn is rapidly approaching its first mowing of the season....

Bearclaw and some orange-n-spice tea, then I'll sit a ways from Ms Mook until I decide if she's just not awake yet or in a less-than-desireable mood....

Time for our local PBS station's annual merchandise auction.  I don't usually buy much of anything, but I will be running camera several evenings.  It's usually an interesting night...

Tree - have the blahs and just a 1/2 a kilter off center this morning.

I used to love to watch the local auction our PBS station had.  Even helped out one year by being a bid writer.  Got to be on tv and was blushing the whole time.  I haven't watched for a few years, but may have to check in again this year.

Looks to be a good weekend for most of the diner people - except for maybe GA.  Need to stop now or I will be in Willy's territory!

According to the Storm Prediction Center, there were tornadoes in Tennessee, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and Colorado yesterday. Looks like the one in Tennessee did the most damage.

Today not shaping up to be quite as nice as I thought it would. A few showers and clouds have moved in. Still, we're already in the mid 50s, so it won't be too bad.

I agree with Brian: TGIF!

Mookie, hope you're back on kilter now.  Know how that is, when you wake up that way!  Just puts you off everything, doesn't it?

Our FRIDAY FISH FRY is now under way.  On the menu today:  catfish, cod, flounder, haddock, halibut, perch and shrimp.  Side dishes are:  corn on the cob, fries, hushpuppies, cole slaw.  Desserts:  chocolate, apple, cherry, peach and pecan pies; chocolate cake and yellow cake w/caramel icing.

Take some catfish and perch with corn and apple pie. I am hoping to get out to see a train or two this weekend. It has been a while since I have seen a train while driving less than 45 mph. Oh and I will make that rhubarb cake I promised everyone about two weeks ago. It will be ready for dinner tonight and I can pop it back in the oven tomorrow so it will be warm for lunch.

I will set up hammocks on the porch and in the yard so everyone can enjoy some sunshine(hopefully), a train and a few zzz's.

Yes we call it the Dinky. Why? Well cause it's dinky! Proud to be the official train geek of Princeton University!
