Moo as to climbing trees I thought cats had claws?  Think of the going around the block thing as an adventure!  A chance to peruse new gardens!

Anyone ever see a tie grinder in operation?

Mall rats...

Impossible to raise as pets, (you can't house break them) and taste horrible when you barbeque them....

Don't go good with Gatorade either...Big Smile [:D]

Jay - I am scared to death they will redo our street.  They will block us off for about 2-3 months if they do!  We will have to park on the street behind us, wander through backyards, climb over fences and wander through another yard.

Picture that!

Probably won't be the last time the Driver has stood behind me and boosted......

MC - careful with the blue hairs!  They are out looking for polite young chickens to regale with stories!

Happy trip Willy!

Back to the garden and my coffee with CW!

Woke up to the sounds of the black top on our street being removed.  The contractor uses one of those machines that grinds up the black top and dumps it into the haul trucks.  One hopes that the resurface will be finished sometime before labor day, otherwise we can expect a lot of dust and mud.  I hope they do a very good job on the resurface.  At the rate this town fixes streets, ours will have to last about 50 years.

Lot's of railroad type stuff coming up.  The UP Operation Lifesaver train will be in Janesville Monday with E-Units at the point.  Mark Hemphill shows up at the Northwestern University Transportation Center on Wednesday to talk about trains in Iraq and Rochelle Railroad Days follow on Saturday and Sunday.

Now, if I can get my car out of the driveway...

Not quite yet. We leave very early tomorrow morning. It looks like we may be taking off into some thunderstorms so that will undoubtedly be an exciting experience. Never a dull moment in Omaha.

Hmm... While many people are praying for rain, here in Omaha we're only about three-quarters of an inch away from our wettest May ever. We've had 10.40 inches so far and the record is a little over 11 inches. It looks like we have at least another inch coming for the next couple of days, but will it come before midnight tonight to break that record? Either way, I'll try to send some of it to the people who need it.

....That dryness extends up to Muncie here too....So dry....!  Although, just this past Monday we were in town for Olive Garden lunch and one of the gals had to go with me {and an umbrella, out to our vehicle}, it was raining so hard.  I then pulled up to the entrance to pick up Jean and about 6 miles from there on the city's west side, at our home....Not a drop of rain and none since....

Temps in the 90's these last 2 days here and probably today will be similar....So Paula, if you see any rain shoo it this way too......

I've got your omlette boiling in a special bag Mook so it gets much tougher!  The coffee is finished perking and is ready-foo it because it's hot!  The first batch of omlettes are almost ready.  Mine will be 4 eggs, cubed ham, and shredded cheese only!  That should fill me up until around 2 PM or so!

Good Thursday morning, everyone.  It's good and muggy here in Louisville this morning.  We only have a 20% chance of thunder showers this afternoon, early evening.  Everyone wishes it were higher, because the lawns, trees, flowers, and crops need it very much.  Heard yesterday that we are having temps the past two weeks, that we don't normally get until at least July 15th.

Dan, thanks for fixing breakfast and getting the coffee, and other beverages going this morning.  I went out and took a walk this morning, before it gets too hot and muggy out:  that's why I'm just getting in here.

Everyone have a good morning, and I'll be back in a little bit.  Think I'll go see if Mookie is still in the garden.  I'll take two cups of coffee with me, just in case she is still there.

Headphones [{(-_-)}]  Blue moon..... oops, guess I should have checked to see if someone had their ears on before yowling....

Dan: Omelette - you will need to boil mine about 20 min so it is like that rubber tire you kicked. I can't do any kind of an even slightly soft egg....

Used to make fried eggs - fry them on low until they were linoleum and then dig out the yolks and feed them to Budz (dog) and eat the whites.  Haven't had a good egg since ol' Budz left this world - about 17 years ago!  Sigh [sigh]

Off to the garden  (Blue Moon.....)

Morning all!  Thought I'd kick the tires and light the fires.  On the breakfast menu today is boiled omlettes.  I've got a pot of water almost at a boil.  When it's ready I'll take however many eggs you want then mix them with the garnishment of choice (ham, cheese, green peppers, tomato, onion, mushroom) in a quart sized ziploc freezer bag.  They'll have to boil for about 4 minutes then be shaken to get liquid out of the core then about another 4 minutes in the water in their bags then done!  While you're waiting here's some Texas toast ('specially for you Ed!) that I made on the fire in the pit outside this morning.  I've also got some fresh fruit and bagles/cream cheese.  The usual beverages are in their usual spot.

Is she dealing with arthritis in her knees as well?  That's part of Joanie's problem- bone-on-bone rubbing on the inside of both knees.  The other part, which she just got fixed in the right knee yesterday, is tears in the miniscus cartilage when it gets caught between the bones.  She had orthoscopic surgery in the left knee back in October for the same problem there.  She'd love to get both knees totally replaced with prostetics, but the docs are understandibly hesitant to go that route yet, as every time you have that done you lose more of the bones that you need to attach to, and I guess prostetic knees don't have a good durability track record yet.  I've heard of some patients that have needed to get it re-done more than once.

I don't bother to "fooo" or "phttt"...I just hand the hot item to the eight year old and watch her sit there waving her hand at her mouth, trying to fan the item off after she takes a big bite...always good for a few chuckles and it give the item time to cool down!

CW I wasn't referring to yours or anyones cooking in the DDCS as being too hot to consume, it's just a culinary habit I picked up a while back.  I'll take a burger and some fries if they're around then out to the patio for a bit.  What a nice day.

Well, I HOPE no one has to blow on your lunch because it's too hot; on the menu today:  beef, arugula and spinach lasagna, chipotle sloppy joes w/crunchy cole slaw, and the usual burgers w/sauteed onions, lettuce, tomato subs.

Joe, thanks for making more lemonade.  Guess I didn't make enough this morning, or everyone went through it really fast!!Wink [;)]

I hope this posts, because I tried a few minutes ago, and got the message "trains.com is taking too long to respond.  Please try again in a few minutes."

Everyone have a good afternoon, and try to stay as cool as possible.  I've also got plenty of ice water available, along with Gatorade (if a certain chicken didn't take it all with him to Nebraska way!Wink [;)]

Yeah, foo.  'Fooing' is the fine, and delicate art of blowing on a hot item (solid or liquid) that is iminently going into your mouth.  You have to be careful not to overdo it or you're wearing the item.  Unde fooing can result in burning holes in your mouth and then spraying magma hot items on whatever/whoever is in front of you.

Joe - We're travelling to New York by airplane. Our drama teacher wanted to go by bus at first, but everyone said that would take way too long, so we decided on air.

I don't think anyone even mentioned going by train. If we did, each train would be so late that we'd miss all of our connections, so it wouldn't work anyway.
