....The last 5 min. or so I've been watching the goings on {live}, at the Indianapolis 500 track, here on the computer. It's blacked out here in our area on TV....And of course it's stopped, red flagged now for some time on account of rain....We now have a dozen or more vehicles running around the track to try to encourage the drying of the track.....I wonder why they aren't prepared with jet blowers {like Nascar has}, to drive around the track to speed up the drying.

Word is they might be able to restart the race about 6 pm or so....

Lance and Bob, we have BOTH your suggestions.  On today's SUNDAY DINNER menu:

1.  Meat loaf
2.  Fried chicken

Side dishes:  mashed taters, gravy, corn, peas, apple sauce, and desserts will be:  rhubarb, cherry and peach  and apple pies.  And vanilla , neopolitan and chocolate ice cream to go with the pies.

Drinks:  iced tea, lemonade, grape Kool Aid.

Everything is ready, and on the warmer bar, except for the pies and ice cream.  Pies are in the cooler, and the ice creams are in  the freezer.

Good Sunday morning, everyone.  Lance, thanks for the putting the coffee on, making juice, and then going and bringing in doughnuts!  That was very nice and thoughtful of you!

We're at a pleasant 65 degrees this morning, with still just a small chance of rain later on tonight.  We could actually use a little rain.

Does anyone have any requests for Sunday Dinner today?  I'm working on a COOKOUT menu for tomorrow, but I'm stuck for ideas for today.

Greetings from Chocolate City USA!!!

A little damp here right now, but not too bad.  Spent about an hour changing out the water pump on my truck yesterday (the hardest part was snaking it out between the fan shroud and the alternator bracket) and I'm now set for another six years, give or take.  Gave it a good shakedown run the past two days, truck is in good shape.

Watched the fireworks celebration last night at Chocolatefest, our annual celebration honoring the Nestle' plant in town, was a good show, have yet to make it down to the festival grounds yet.  Parents went last night, said it was a good time.

I'll have some of that ice cream, and I've got some Nestle's chocolate topping for it as well.  have a great rest of the night, all.....

Alright, the ice cream is ready. I'll grab some supreme and a big ol' bowl of strawberry. Come on, don't be shy, there's plenty for everybody.

....Thanks Willy:  You seem to be about right where our forecasters are regarding this weekend.  This morning we have partly cloudy skies and looks like we will see some sunshine....Temps.  a bit above 70 here right now....It's still a bit early.

And Joe.....I really don't follow the open wheel racing types..{Indy}, but Peripherally, as I'm an old Nascar fan but with the three gals in this years 500, I think it would be wild if Danaca  would end up the winner.  She is a rather skillful driver and this is her 2nd Indy race so she has some experience in this one, plus...with Andretti Green, she really is in good equipment now and it's not out of the question that she could actually be in place to win it if any of the real front runners falter a bit....That would set the Indy racing world on it's ear....!

Actually, I think it would be good for that race, with all the attention it would bring.

Well, I'm up early this morning, but when you've got thunder as loud as what's happening right now, it's hard to sleep. Great storm, but too bad it's not happening in the middle of the night so I could see the lightning better. Big Smile [:D]

Hope everyone has a good Saturday.

Good Saturday morning, everyone!  Still trying to get my eyes open this morning.  Been up less than an hour; Joe, I think I need coffee, coffee, coffee this morning.  Thanks so much for getting breakfast this morning.  I believe I'll take an apple cinnamon muffin this morning.

Joe, I imagine your sis will enjoy the pics;  the teenagers probably won't though:  they'll be thinking "WHY did Uncle Joe give her a copy of pics when we were dorky kids?!?!", then do a Charlie Brown impression:  "ARRRRRGGGH!"

Everyone have a good, and safe day, and I'll expect everyone in here by 6:30, 7:00 tonight, for our SATURDAY NIGHT PIZZA FEST.

This is the long weekend of holiday with great importance of a great sports event in this area.  Our local {Indianapolis}, forecasters say we have a 20 to 40% chance of rain {spoty}, for each of the weekend days upcoming and hence somewhat a threat to the 300,000 plus that will assemble at Indy for the big 500 on Monday.  Do you want to weigh in from your weather maps for this area and give an opinion....

It looks to me like you do have some chance of rain tomorrow through Monday with the best chances tomorrow and then more chances Sunday late afternoon/evening and just about anytime on Monday. The computer models don't give you more than half an inch out of any of these events, so it shouldn't pour all day, but there will be rain around.

Hope that helps!

.....Yes, Memorial Day.....Our Freedoms, we must not let it slip out of our minds as it has come at a high price at times.  Many, many have gone before us to make sure we continue to have it.

So please....all Americans, stop and reflect and remember those who have served and paid the ultimate price and those still with us and have served and are serving to keep that Freedom strongly in this great country.  Display those flags too....

Opening day for the railroad tomorrow - let's hope lots of people want to ride!

As Joe said - take a moment from your busy Monday to take part in the remembrance ceremonies in your town.  The folks this holiday remembers deserve your respect.  Be sure to share that with your children as well.  The significance of such events can be lost unless we pass it along.
