Just had to stop in and share this with everyone. If you haven't already hop on over to Classic Toy Trains and chech out the two part pro-mo video of the coors light silver bullet train. It is hilarius. I would love to know what coors thinks of the free advertising. I don't think it goes along with their normal guidlines. At least it isn't like what i see on the commercials during hockey games. Anyway it is quite funny to see a model train geek try to sell a beer train, so definitly take a look.

But enough of that, I gotta hit the sidewalk and get to work.  Are there donuts to go available this morning?

Having seen the real Coors train - this one is pretty classy.  It always makes me uneasy when we see the pre-beer mix going by in really rusty topped tankers.  You know it is Coors, so you would think they would at least try to make it a little more appetizing.  Ugh.  Now I know why beer tastes so bad!

Walt - that was our storm a couple of days ago.  Tomorrow - we will be very warm and 40 mph winds.  Allergies have become an epidemic around here!

Never saw that thing in Golden. Think I'd stay with the 1:1 scale, bright /shiny/ red & well maintained EMD switch engines in their yard. I'm partial to some of their craft barley pop - good stuff.

Chris: Fall colors on the drive back from Glenwood yesterday were quite good. Snow is starting to stick in the shade in some places in the high country. Diesel mouse #21 was outside at Silver Plume with #9 still missing its running gear. Uncle Pete was busy. If you are coming or going Sunday night through Thursday night, 10PM until 6AM, keep an eye out for us traversing through Eisenhower or Johnson Tunnel on the other side of the traffic cones. (don't know how I'm gonna behave in a tunnel that is all lit up, like daylight, without a train in it)

Good Friday morning, everyone!  And Happy Friday to all!!  Just thought I'd drop by for a couple of minutes, and grab whatever's on the warmer bar for breakfast.  Think I'll take a couple of biscuits w/sausage gravy, a couple of sausages, and some hash browns.  I'm kind of hungry this morning!  Woke up at 2 a.m., and had to pull covers over me.  I was cold!!

Think I'll try to make it back in here for lunch:  fish and sides sound really good today!

You all are doing a terrific job around here, in my absence.  Everything looks like it's being kept up, and kept clean!!

Happy weekend to all who won't be in over the next two days, and you all take care!!

M C:  Mind commenting what you and crew are needing to do in the tunnels you mention.  And can you really bring vehicles into the tunnel to transport people {workers}, to site, etc....

How long are the tunnels involved....?

Q: These two tunnels are what takes I-70 under the Continental Divide. (1.6+ miles each and anything but straight)

 http://www.dot.state.co.us/Eisenhower/description.asp

We are in there on a new revised effort to monitor movement of the tunnel walls and geological movement in the tunnel. We are doing control surveys to go along with a CYRAX measurements effort. (Transit mounted reflectorless EDM gear that shoots a "point cloud" that gives you a bazillion little dot points reflected back on any solid object the CYRAX gear shoots and picks up)...This was all in the works long before Minneapolis and when they found the big cracks in the Glenwood "No Name" tunnels.

M C:  Oh, I was thinking you were working with RR tunnels.  I believe from the tech info you mention, you are establishing a way to detect any movement of such tunnel surfaces {inside}....That sounds interesting.   Thanks.

Did some work in the general area {vehicle testing}, many years ago and ended up at Berthoud Pass.....from our hotel starting point in Denver.

Another slow night in here.  Shame!  I guess I'll have to eat the cheddar cheese/Ritz crackers/summer sausage all by myself.  I thought I smelled a cheesecake in here somewhere too....

Good morning! Well, it looks like I'm the first one in the Diner here, so I think I'll take charge of serving breakfast this morning. Chef [C=:-)] The coffee is brewing and the orange juice is ready to be poured.

O.K., on the menu tor breakfast this morning: I've got a Virginia baked, honey and brown sugar cured ham in the oven, it should be ready to slice up shortly. I baked a pan of cinnamon rolls this morning, ya better grab one while they are still warm, we've got buttermilk pancakes and french toast with pork sausage and bacon, and scrambled eggs Chef [C=:-)]

It is raining here in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and I sort of wish I could send some of this rain out to those of you folks out there who are in a real need for rain. I woke up to a brilliant flash of lightning about an hour ago and it lit up my house like daylight.

Ray ; The ham really sounds goood ,haven't had any for a while . We were going to Bismark last week and was going to look for you ,but the time frame to load would not permit . I can smell the rolls now . I guess we got out ahead of the snow in N.D.  And Mont. , not scared of bad weather to drive in , just better sense. Many years of driving instills that on ya' .I'll have a cup of coffee & a large cinnomon roll to go. Hope to see you some day.    Respectfully, Cannonball

Joe, I liked the DVD, but I'm not so sure I want to sign up and commit to more of them.  I'm surprised they flushed that thread- I know there was some scalding comments on there, but there were some good ones too.

Thanks for doing breakfast this morning, Joe. I think I'll grab myself a waffle and top it with some maple syrup and some cinnamon apple sauce. Dinner [dinner]

Right now we've got 65 degrees here in Sioux Falls and light rain. It's supposed to rain here all day according to the information I get from the Weather Underground, and we've got a 90% chance of scattered thunderstorms throughout the day.
