.....Yes, I know what a Ford Tri-motor plane is.  Has what looks like corrugated metal body sides, etc...

There used to be 2 of them over in northern Ohio that sold "rides" as you state that one was doing.  Don't know if they are still there or not.

The oldest planes I've flown in were many DC-3's.....and a Piper tail dragger Cup {J-3}.  It just happened to be flown by a famous flyer {later}, Leroy Berkebile...from Somerset, Co. in Pennsylvania....and a classmate of my older brother {deseased}, in school.  He was envolved in a 727 hi jacking many years ago over {of all places}, Indiana...when a fellow jumped out the back door {that accessed to rear stairwell}.....!  Leroy was an American Airlines pilot then.  {Also a WWII carrier pilot earlier}....

Diner NEWS FLASH:

There will now be an investigation of Sir Topham Hat in Golden following accusations that he was experimenting with Human Growth Hormone (HGH). Everytime he came out to meet the kids at the "Thomas The Tank Engine" event at Colorado Railroad Museum, he was either 18 inches taller or shorter than the time before. When his escort, students from The Colorado School of Mines, were asked about this odd phenomena - they would just smile and walk away laughing.  No comment when Steve Martin's "Let's Get Real Small" schtick came up either.Big Smile [:D]

Hmm, Sort of interesting, as CW now Does have to carry a card in her wallet stating that she does have "metal" in her body. (for when she sets off the "Metal Detectors" where ever.)Wink [;)]

Dan, Hope things with "New Boss"  do go well.

Joe, you and the others are just going to have to keep on, CW just can't make it in for awhile yet. She tried Sat. evening, but just couldn't do it.

This place has almost been like Grand Central with the P.T. & VNA coming in several different times already.

Hi everyone. While we were in Nebraska just before the USC game, every reader board had something about Big Red. Anyone been on the Plattsmouth Bridge? It was an adventure!
Today I have my ham & beans in the crockpots. Corn bread will come out of oven about 11:45 Central Time Zone.

Sheesh.  Talk about nuts!

So, it's a superstition that fires come in threes (but there is also a bit of factual experience there), so I figured we were out of the woods when my department was dispatched twice on Monday following the Library fire on Friday (one was a mutual aid electrical investigation, the other was a mutual aid brush fire - eight acres).  Then today, we end up headed for another mutual aid brush fire (big for our area - 50 acres), and an accident between a tow truck  carrying concrete blocks and a school bus (3 kids to the hospital, it's thought the driver of the tow truck died of natural causes before the accident).  So now we're back to waiting for number three again.

Ham.  Beans.  Cornbread!  I'll be over in the corner booth, trying to get through my supper before the pager goes off again.

Good to see CW back, even for a few minutes.

Joe - we have seen several of those B units through here at one time or another.  Now I have to question why we don't see them more often - especially on freight.  Maybe not having a cab has something to do with it, but don't know.  They could use them as a 3rd motor, couldn't they?

Spokey - we eat, sleep and breathe football and now volleyball!

Now about food.  It was in the 40's here this morning - time for BBQ and chili.  Tree?

(Tree - they poo-poo the full moon, but we had our 2nd homicide of the year and you had a lot of your calls - under the full moon...  Evil [}:)]  )

Forgot about the full moon....

The paper said this morning that the big brush fire was the eighth in that area in just a few weeks - I thought it sounded awful familiar.  Nothing certain, but arson is certainly looking like a good prospect.

We set a new record high here yesterday at 89, but the chili is in the pot, simmering away!

Tree-  We really enjoyed our trip to the Outer Banks.  Started at the top, hit all the spots, took the ferry to Ocrakoke Island and from there the ferry to Cedar Island.  Made our way down to Wilmington and then back on an inland route.

In the course of planning, we reserved a big house on the beach at Duck for a week next May and plan to have the family join us.  Should be fun.

We don't know for sure.  The town was incorporated about 5 years ago.  Linda says she will research the issue.  Personally, I think it is a warning, as in Duck!- Carpenter coming with another 2X6, or Duck! When asking for the list price on that new waterfront home.Shock [:O] (One could probably find a fully restored open platform office car for a lower price and still have the money to take lots of trips.)

Jay - I have personally never been there, but know first-hand that the property there must be very expensive.  Had a gentleman that insisted his address was such and so (in one of the Carolinas) but the post office said no.  His mail was still sorted at a post office inland.  He was very indignant that I just couldn't get his address right (the way he wanted it).  And I tried to tell him that the post office wouldn't deliver it w/o the correct address.

Bottom line - a hurricane came by and destroyed the whole area.

Not me - no heck no.  Had nothing to do with that!  Blindfold [X-)]

I just finished making a gallon of homemade vanilla ice cream, and I've put it away in the freezer here in the Diner. It will go well with the pie that Joe is providing for dessert tonight.

Just had to stop in and share this with everyone. If you haven't already hop on over to Classic Toy Trains and chech out the two part pro-mo video of the coors light silver bullet train. It is hilarius. I would love to know what coors thinks of the free advertising. I don't think it goes along with their normal guidlines. At least it isn't like what i see on the commercials during hockey games. Anyway it is quite funny to see a model train geek try to sell a beer train, so definitly take a look.
