Chocolate cake.

Chocolate cookies.

Dark chocolate.

Ya know, you folks are not helping my diet any!!!

Just like my wife...last night she decided to bake a cake for her coworkers; great idea--except she filled the entire house with the wonderful aroma of her baking Chef [C=:-)](the reason I need the diet in the first place), and now you tempt me with all of those extremely delicious sounding treats!

Good thing the diner only serves virtual calories.

BTW, feel free to congratulate me.  I met my first dieting goal.  I started on December 1, and as of May 31, I have lost 100#!! (Please don't ask how many I started with, but suffice to say, I have many pounds to go. 15 years of neglect had finally caught up with me.)

Congrats, Z.  Some of you may remember that a year ago I managed to lose 50 pounds- unfortunately I've managed to put 25-30 of those back on.  And my wife doesn't like to bake.

Well, I made it back from the library, and stopped at the grocery for a couple of things on my way home.

Lance, welcome back:  just thought you had a busy weekend of trian watching/railfanning.

On the menu today:  chicken and dumplings, salad, sliced tomatoes, and anyone who doesn't want chicken and dumplings, we also have a small Mexican Fiesta:  enchiladas, tacos, chips and salsa and con caso dips.  Even with several muching down on the chocolate chip cookies yesterday (?), there's still plenty for dessert today, along with chocolate cake and pecan pie and apple pie.

Everything's on the warmer bar, so come on and help yourselves.  Even really nice outside, so if you want, head on out to the patio, or the garden.

//slides down rope

Today we've got a plethora of liquid sunshine but could use it so it's not too bad of a thing.  I do, however, want a bit more warmth.  That chicken and dumpling lunch sounds great right about now.

Anyone seen Chris?

There will be a moment of silence in the diner now.

Mudchicken's faithful steed, "Trigger" (2003 3/4 ton Chevy P/U) is retired and put out to pasture today at 123,570 miles. Trigger is replaced by "Lurch", a 2007 Ford 3/4 Ton Super Duty P/U with a face only a mother could love. Lurch already comes with surprises, like it does not fit in the office garage (2" too tall), highway tread on an off road vehicle, manual locking 4WD hubs, lumber wagon ride and a bench seat that doubles as a torture rack.

Happy Trails Trigger, long may you run (Headphones [{(-_-)}]Neil Young tune in there somewhere).....

ps - The new truck was assigned Unit # 711, ominous??

Mudchicken, sorry to hear about Trigger the truck.

I've got the next round of chicken and dumplings and the Mexican Fiesta on the warmer bar, so everyone grab a plate for the Mexican Fiesta and a bowl for chick & dumplings and head on out to the patio.  It's a lovely evening, with a very nice breeze blowing.

First and Formost congrats to Zardoz for reaching your goal!! I know one thing, it is hard to stick to a regular schedule to keep in shape. I know sometimes I skip going to the gym when it's my day to go. Sad [:(]

YAY!!! I finally stopped in durring din din time. I think, I know I'll grab a bowl of Chicken and Dumplings! I also think I might eat some of that Mexican food also!! MMMMmm....Dinner [dinner]

I want to thank everyone for wishing me luck, and congrats here in the diner. Big Smile [:D] I really do appreciate it.

Well, it was a nice cool day here in Louisville for a change; it was actually comfortable outside!! But, here's the kicker I had a meeting today at work so, I didn't get a chance to work in comfortable weather. Maybe it'll be the same way tomorrow. I think I'll take the camera just incase I see something interesting on the job. hehehehe Wink [;)]

Greetings from the Germantown Super 8!!!!!

Mudchicken, if the Ford previously mentioned has a diesel engine, GET RID OF IT ASAP!!!!!!!!!!  Ford is still having a problem keeping turbochargers in the new 6.4 liters, and the 6 liters have engine durability problems.  Should have went for the Duramax or the Cummins.  Ford's gassers are a bit underpowered for their trucks as well.......

Anyway, survived another day of range practice at training, slowly getting better at handling these things.

Will grab some dinner and a booth and watch the comedy show unfolding.......

See everyone later....

Good Tuesday morning, everyone!  Very nice and comfortable this morning, slept very well last night.  May be in for some showers later, around mid morning, early afternoon.  Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Looks like we had a slow night in here last night.  But, coffee is on and ready.  I've got fresh juice (apple, orange, orange/tangerine, pineapple/banana, and hot water for tea or hot cocoa.

On the warmer bar this morning:  turkey bacon, sausage, homemade buttermilk biscuits, with sausage gravy, hash browns, fried taters, oatmeal, toast.  In the cooler:  cantaloupe chunks and watermelon and mush melon chunks and fresh cherries.

Everyone have a good morning, and I'll see you all after I get through with Tuesday Produce.

Well!  Know what 3.5 inches of rain at our house in less than an hour looks like the morning after?  Absolutely nothing.  A puddle or two here and there, but we seem to have a great sewer system and even with clay ground, there is no water left over.

We weren't supposed to have much rain, but Willy came back into the area and set off the sprinkler system!

MC - an early Birthday Present from your company!  How nice.  Guess you can tell they hold you in the highest esteem!  (Darn, there is no tongue-in-cheek smiley face!)  I met Trigger a few times and it just won't be the same seeing the Wild Chicken come into Lincoln in a newer horse.  Never fear, tho - a couple of good beatings up and down some of the roads you travel and Lurch will become Lump and you can get a good truck!

CW - Joe can help me make some hot tea this morning, will grab some toast (Dan, need some peanut butter on it) and I am going to go out on the patio and watch the birdies and squirrels.  Gotta little chocolate hang over this morning - not sure why.

Mo....
