Someone PLEASE send some rain here to Florida! We need it BAD! We need to get rid of those fires in Georgia, and that smoke that is clouding us down here in Florida. It's making me and Sadie cough, and it's making John's eyes hurt. So again PLEASE Send some rain our way, cause we really need it bad!

Also some fries, and a salad...strange combo but that's what I am craving. Better make it quick before Sadie wakes up to be fed

What, didn't that line of storms that went south through the state get you as well?  I was watching the Weather Channel yesterday, and they were focusing on a strong cell that was about to nail Orlando.

Thanks for letting me use the canoe, Dan. There is some pretty significant flooding occurring around the area.

Not much happening today. The rain is over and life is pretty boring. That's probably a good thing though. Too much excitment can be bad if it's the wrong kind of excitment.

Sorry Brian, that's just where they hung out, south of us. I am in the north central part of Florida, and the storms hit St Augustine, St johns and Flagler counties, and more south of us, but all of us from Gainesvile, Lake City, Starke, keystone Heights, were wishing for the rain to get rid of that smoke cloud. It's more windy today so all the smoke is gone from our area. All the rainclouds are gathering west of us too :( and we need some rain real bad!.

Least the smoke is gone

Think I will join for burgers and fries, and a large pepsi

Okay, everybody:  I'm ready to start serving the next round of burgers, fries and salads (you can have your pick of garden or Caesar);  and for dessert, I'm sharing my birthday cake (that I made and iced myself):  German Chocolate, w/the coconut & pecan icing.  That is my absolute favorite cake.

And, if anyone doesn't want burgers & fries, I've got some leftover meat loaf w/shelly beans and mashed taters w/gravy.

Duff, I'll be praying that you all in the northern Florida area get a good soaking rain.

Joe and Lance, as usual, you'll both find containers in the fridge, for you two to take to work tonight.

Burger (cheese?), loaded, and some fries - good stuff.  Might just grab the rest of the German Chocolate cake if nobody's looking - one of my favorites, too!

Cincinnati lost one of it's most unusual artists/sculptors today, Pat Renick. A sculptor with a wicked sense of humor, she will be truly missed.

(At UC, I had to walk by her "Stegowagenvolksasaurus"  on my way to class in the late 1970's)

 http://library.norwoodschool.org/lsart/Artists/ArtistsRenick.jpg (and yes, that's a real VW)

and then there's Triceracopter: http://www.sculpture.org/documents/scmag03/oct03/renick/ren2.jpg

and my favorite from the Big Pig Gig:

Good Tuesday morning, everyone.  Looks like we're going to have another beautiful day today!

Crazy Delmar, welcome back!  Hope you can stay around for awhile!

Coffee is brewing, juice is freshly made, and there's hot water for tea and cocoa.  Mookie, I managed to reach you coffee mug this morning, and it's all ready for you, to enjoy!

On the warmer bar:  turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy and hash browns.

Gotta go start getting ready for the Produce Tuesday crazies; so everyone have a terrific morning, and see you all later.

Welcome back Delmar!  MC - we will talk about your sculptures as I ease the GC cake out of your hands!  You know that pecans and coconut aren't good for chickens!

Your sculpturess was ahead of her time.  They possibly used her work for the future "Transformers" - I think that is what they called them.  I like the Volkswagen one.  Picture a mad kitty in a Volks.......

Water faucet shut off 'til at least this weekend.

Tree - our fire dept search and rescue is going to KS to help.  They should be there today.  I am pleased that they can help.

Off to hunt down some coffee, put on my sun bonnet and head for the garden....

After several natural disasters, NY created "Storm Emergency Fire Units," strike teams of 3-5 firefighters, usually with a piece of apparatus, as a way to assist areas in need.  They aren't permanant, just a way to account for the teams that are formed when the need arises.  I've only been out once, but we had 11 such units assist my department for the Ice Storm of '98.

Those folks need all the help they can get.  It's no longer hard to imagine what it would be like to walk back into the area where your home stood and see nothing left - instant TV coverage has taken care of that.  Still doesn't make up for the emptiness one would feel on realizing that everything you had has been cast upon the winds.

It's not often that you'll have trouble finding volunteers for such duty - most of us in the business are there because we want to help people.

I will have to take Millie trackside, get her all calmed down and then quietly tell her she is getting mail.  She overreacts sometimes with excitement!

Glad all arrived ok.

My puter is being a pain, so will log off and go find the Driver in the parking lot!  Early afternoon due to system failure!  I love it.

Later

I've got a fresh round of the tuna casserole, open-face roast beef, etc., on the warmer bar and the desserts for supper tonight.   So, everyone help yourselves, and enjoy your supper.  BTW, if you'd like just take your plates out to the patio, so you can watch the trains go by.
