There are now five trains, including the two Amtrak trains, stacked up behind the stuck oils cans on track one at CP462, with an outlawed merchandise train on track two.

So...two Amtrak long distance trains, and a premium intermodal (what can Brown do for you) behind an empty oil train.

Behind them is a merchadise train, two empty oil cans, a premiium intermodal, two Amtraks, a merchandise, and another premium intermodal. 25Z is through Porter, now.
Intermodal train at CP462 doesn't have route across the diamonds there, yet.

Dispatcher just told CP244 (eastbound) there are track circuit problems at CP479. This is the new crossover being installed just east of Chesterton in order to facilitate movements around Porter.
So, you might be stopped suddenly around Chesterton.

Amtrak map shows you are moving! That is quite a map.
It indicates at 1241pm you are just east of Laporte.
MP173 Update... "single tracking from CP491 to 501 (Miller siding) to Buffington (East Chicago) and a broken bridge ahead (must be the lift bridge at Calumet River MP509. Amtraks 371 and 365 are affected.

31Q just sitting on #1 at Burns Harbor for no apparent reason.
The Calumet River Bridge is not the only movable span on this line. There is a movable bridge over the Indiana Harbor Ship Canal in East Chicago and Amtrak's South Branch Bridge would be a factor for Amtrak trains and through trains to the BNSF.
Only one span is still in service at Calumet River. Since this is only a double track main, the expense of restoring additional spans to service would be unnecessary unless additional main tracks are added to this line.
