No clout that I know of, simply the time and ability to be the squeakiest wheel in the universe.

You are implying something I did not write….he had no ability to tell Kalambach or Jim what to do, just the time to wear him and the mods out, precisely like those people we see in restaurants or grocery stores who make such a obnoxious spectacle out of themselves in an attempt to gain extra service or free stuff, he managed to get what he wanted simply because they wanted him to shut up and leave them alone.

The poster in question was locked out of the forum under his then current screen name after that, but has since come back with a new user name.

I personally know of one forum member who had 3 different screen names, and had logged in from their computer, their child’s computer and their work computer, all you need to do is set up separate e mail accounts.

Now, since you just recently showed up as Euclid, and oddly, just like the person under discussion, have nothing listed in your bio too, unless you were a member back then under a different username, I find it hard to see where you could “remember” any such dust up, since none like that have occurred since you joined as Euclid….unless of course you were one of the participants back then under a different name.

Care to tell us who you were then?

I didn't think that bucyrus had been locked out. I thought he had left on his own accord, after one of those "You won't have Dick Nixon to kick around any more" type speeches. With bucyrus gone now, unless someone currently has some *inside information*, we'll never know.

Larry said, "I don't think it's a matter of being considered correct just because they are members of a class."

I agree with him.  That was my point when I asked you how can there be honest discussion if one particular class of participants are considered to be correct whether they are or not, just because they are members of a class.

"Members of a class"?  Sounds like class warfare to me.

I have no inside knowledge about anyone's identity.   However, it is now obvious that edblysard does, and perhaps other railroaders as well.   This is all about a little clique, always has been.   I do recall that ed picked up his football and said he would not return and deleted all/many of his posts after he was censured.  This forum has always had a group of railroaders plus a few supporters who get pissed off when anyone disagrees with them.  Their favorite tactic has been to start a series of inane, off-topic posts, engage in disrespect in an effort to get the thread locked.  Now we are hearing a false, revisionist history.  No wonder folks like the "Convicted One" finally spoke up in disgust at the double standard.   So Murray, Zugmann, Ed, and Murphy: go on with your games and see how long it lasts.

I don't think any of this is applicable to Ed. He has never, in my memory, engaged in "inane, off-topic posts." When I noted that he has not posted a bio, I was making a technical point.

To be fair, I was being serious until I found out I was part of a conspiracy to bring down the world's governments, and all it took was for ConvictedOne/The Anti-Gates/Dweezil to blow our cover. In all honesty, let may say this. I'm not *in the know*, but I was at one time. Therefore, a lot of things really strike me as funny. One of them being that the moderators (used to, and probably still do)get all kinds of complaints from posters who felt like the moderators were favoring whomever was the other guy. On some of the more contentious threads, both *sides*(?) would complain that the moderators were favoring the other side. I guess it's life a lot of things in life, some one is always sure that the cars are stacked against them.

I stayed out of this until now, but when someone calls my name, it is rude not to respond.

Schlimm:  Seriously, I really don't give a crap about much on this forum anymore, and I sure don't give a crap what you think of me or any "cliques" that any of us may or may not be a part of.

This is a simple, pretty dead forum.   Way too much drama and crying here.

It's been fun.  But it isn't much fun anymore.   Signing off for now.

Seriously, I can totally empathize with how you might feeling. It took me quite a while to adjust to both the change of income as well as the change to how I felt about myself.

I am unlocking this thread. I think you have a great topic going here. Let's continue to grant respect to railroaders and non railroaders alike.

Thank you!

Powerless? No. Apathetic and fed up? Yes. Taking the easy way out? Probably.

Well if the moderators wanted to take the easy way out, why not just block the instigator? The moderators have all the buttons. Wouldn't that have been easier than punishing a bunch of people who were just the innocent victims of this instigator? That instigator sure must have had some magic powers.

Murphy Siding

Perhaps you could volunteer your services? Maybe, there's just some of the finer points of the system that the moderators don't understand, and they just need someone to point out the finer details?

Murphy Siding, your response is in my opinion a classic example of one where we shouldn't respect the experienced person's comment JUST BECAUSE they're experienced. Euclid asked a question, wouldn't it have been easier for the moderators to have blocked the offender instead of punishing everybody? He also couched the question with a couple of suppostions, but I think it's reasonable to assume "the moderators have all the buttons".

You have said you were once a moderator, and I think should have some expert knowledge about if they have all the buttons, and if it would have been easier just to block the offender, yet instead of answering the question you, in my opinion, shot down the questioner and sarcasticly punished him for asking a question.

That's a lot like what I see when outsiders ask a question and railroaders, who could probably answer it, instead insult the questioner's ignorance.

The world of real, full time railroaders is 'Rough & Tumble' - both from the job requirements in time, territory and commitment to continue to fulfill the duties of the jobs.  Throw in relatively coarse interpersonal relationships soaked in testosterone (even among the females); all this gets transferred into railroaders lives outside the job.  You can take the person out of the railroad, but you can't take the railroad out of the person.

Railroaders are accustomed to interactions that border on the very lowest limit of civility - Non-railroaders, not so much!

Never too old to have a happy childhood!
