Under a severe thunderstorm watch until 11 PM. Nothing on the radar for us yet.
Headed for the railroad tomorrow. Have to learn some new territory.

Good Wednesday afternoon everyone. Made it up to Louisville for my doctor's app. this morning. He called in a couple of prescriptions for me (my hormone pills need to be refilled) and 1 for an antibiotic cortizone cream, for a rash of some kind. I have bites/rash on my chin, neck, arms, legs & feet. Guess mine are flea bites, from being out in the backyard w/the 2 girls. That's the only thing I can think of. When I got home, found out my brother went to VA Medical Center this morning, for bites he got over the weekend, when he & wife were down at the lake. They (dr.s) couldn't even tell him what kind of bites he has.
Otherwise, everything w/my visit went well. BP was up a little bit, and their scales say I weigh 10 lbs. more than what my brother/sil's scale tells me.
We've had a couple of small rain showers in the last hour, hour & a half. Looks like sun's trying to come back out now. Guess we'll make it to the predicted 78 F for a high this afternoon.
Everyone have a good afternoon/evening, take care, keep safe, and see you all later.
Good Morning
Welcome to sticky day number 4...with little showers maybe.....75F feeling like 95F...sheeesh
Today is get groceries and clean out Lost Cause...Part 19...or so....
Oh well....have a good one!!
some rain here in nw ohio.hopefully more to come.Breakfast is all set.Ns was busy as usual last night.Maybe our resident weatherman(it's official) Willy can keep Mookie up to date on the forecast.
We got nothing here for rain...but to the north of us...oi....
I do not want to live through what we had in Woodstock ON back a few years ago...all I remember was seeing a wall of black right in front of our house....as I was headed to the basement...came out a few minutes later to see our neighbourhood stripped bare...nothing remained except my house and a neighbours.....scary....
Another line of thunderbumpers just rolled through, this time with a severe warning on it. Just rain and thunder at this point, and maybe a little wind. There's a little cell behind the line - we'll see if that does anything.
Cannonball - you and I and a few others on here have lived thru the weather. We don't have to guess at it.
Ms. Mookie , If you went to the TV station with a few darts in hand you could get a weather guessers job, with all the info you have. HEH HEH
Respectfully, Cannonball
Y6bs evergreen in my mind
Lots of heat, haze and humidity here...central air is on and we be at 74F inside with 20% humidity....outside? Try 78F feeling like 90F right now...70% chance of t'underin'boomers later on...
Was outside earlier picking up branches and such from windstorm last night...cancelled fireworks display..will try next weekend....
My heart goes out to OKC after the devastating tornadoes that struck there
still muggy.no rain yet.praying for those affected by the tornado.Breakfast is ready.Chores to do later.
Joe
Much like Joplin - reports that debris from Moore is landing 100 miles "downstream."
Amtrak # 822 ( FTW - OKC ) canceled this evening as route goes right thru Moore.
Why is it always the little people that are put right in the middle?
Looks like a couple of entire neighbourhoods took a direct hit....my heart goes out to them...
OKC area (Moore, especially) took a devastating hit - two schools (at least one occupied) and damage reminiscent of the big tornado of a few areas that hit very close to the same area.
A look at the NWS radar (which includes warning areas) for OKC shows many severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings.
Very potent system. Anyone in the path would do well to pay attention.
Edit: It's even worse than devastating.
OK City area is taking a pretty good hit. National Radar looks like an arrow - point straight to Great Lakes. When it gets done with OK - we shall see where it wanders.
So DaK getting a ton of rain (Murphy?) so pull your socks up and pack a lunch!
afternoon
got mowing done yesterday. Took a quick trip to dad's to get him air conditioned.Guessers say some rain and thunderboomers. We and the farmers could use the rain. Back to work later.
Mowed under mostly sunny skies, after a brief shower early on. Good enough for now.
Nothing showing up as a threat to us just yet - all we're supposed to get tonight is a few showers. Thunderbumpers are scheduled to arrive tomorrow and Wednesday.
The bulk of the lower peninsula of MI is under a severe thunderstorm watch, with one pretty significant cell well north of Grand Rapids. Central MO and parts of KS under a tornado watch. Could be an interesting evening, weather wise. Just no repeats of OK's storms last night, one of which hit a trailer park, if you please.
Gonna keep the ol' weather eye open, at any rate.
Looking like the weekend should be nice, though - which is a good thing, as that's our much ballyhoo'ed first official trip to Big Moose - the high point of the Central.
We were given a severe thunderstorm warning (not a watch) for last night. Why, I don't know--according to Pat, the moon didn't disappear at all for the duration of the warning. Today it was a chance of thunderstorms in the morning (I got the grass cut), and a likelihood of severe weather this afternoon (breezy now, but the morning clouds have given way to sunshine and the radar is wide open. Maybe I'll venture out today.

Mookie Q - did you watch the radar - two lines went just a smidge north of us and a smidge east of us. We have had rain showers and some noise this pm, but no severe weather. It is 60 degrees right now, so don't think weather will get do much more than water the lawn. If that. mmm - hope there is no snow......

Jen, it sounds very familiar with the action weather takes here near Muncie....MUCH of the time the red lines do separate or lessen in strength as it nears Muncie. Old wives tale here seem to be: "its the big bend in White River" as it passes thru Muncie that prevents many storms from {attacking us}, from the west. Of course, some do....But many don't.
I did see some of the current warnings west of us for happening today again....Appears it is going for the most part, slightly over our north side....But a threat of {sliight action}, is up for here anyway....
And, Larry, I got ahead of it by {mowing on Sunday}....Finished up at 9:15 last evening....edging and clean-up with leaf blower...including tractor. Lawn has just about totally recovered from last Summer's terrible drought in this area....Yes, it's taken this long to do so....and it gets 4 professonal treatments a season. It really got hit bad last season...totally brown...! Now again, we have totally pretty deep green...I think edging any appropriate areas really makes a much neater job of it all.....And my tool to do that is a "Worx" unit...Really like what it does. Battery powered. 18vt.

We have 3 states that protect Lincoln more times than not. OK, KS and IA. If it comes from the south - by the time these systems get to the KC area, they are usually heading off just slightly to our east. Storms straight from the west seem to separate (n & s) and go around the city. None of these every miss Iowa!
Storms from the 4 corners - all bets are off.
Not perfect summary, but as good as most of our weather forecasters.
Get to see some sun and cloud with the high of 78F feeling like 89F....heeheehee
Still working on the ol' Lost Cause...sigh....found a couple of Hoosier cabinets though...now they are residing where they should have been....
I grew up in a household with simple tastes - dinner was usually potatoes, meat, and a veggie (peas, green beans, corn - plebian stuff).
Mom grew up on a farm, and we lived in the country for a few years when I was young, so rhubarb and asparagus made occasional appearances, but not often. I must have been being polite once when we had strawberry-rhubarb pie, and Mom thought I really liked it. I'm not even a big fan of straight strawberry pie...
We're in for some weather in the middle of the week - probably the stuff that's pounding the Great Plains right now. Looks like OK is in for more rough stuff after the mess they had last night.
If it'll stay dry, I have to mow today. Not quite to baling stage, but it's getting high, and both neighbors have mowed...
The Asparagus thing is more of an acquired taste I suspect...it sort of reminds me of what I used to think of 'Fiddleheads'...fern sprouts more or less. Same sort of deal.
Our weather seems to be building up to some real thunderboomers later this week...Monday high 79F feeling like 87F, Tuesday high 79F feeling like 93F...Wednesday 82F feeling like just under 100F....all with a 50-60% chance of thunderstorms....
OK - I hate asparagus. I lived in Oklahoma when daughter was born - they gave us boiled okra and stewed tomatoes in hospital. Real throw up food. I love brussel sprouts and most veggies. Squash isn't a favorite. But overall, there are few foods I absolutely, postively won't eat and asparagus is at the top. Maybe with dirt as Tree suggested? But why ruin good dirt!
