Spring?
What’s spring?
Oh yeah, that week between not summer and summer….I remember now, you guys have it as a whole season, right?

Now 98 and I am definitely passing this on to the east! Getting out my cookbook - "How to cook Iowa and beyond!"
She who has no signature! cinscocom-tmw
I never knew Iowa is something to eat.
We'll take about 80 of those degrees here in NY. Actually, we're supposed to see them later in the week...
Would be nice to have some of that warmth tomorrow, though, as we bring the prom-goers out and try to scare the daylights out of them by staging a serious accident. I get to narrate. It's not as easy as it sounds, especially when "victims" are laying "dead" on the ground...
We haven't done one at this school in several years, and last time we did, texting wasn't the factor it is today. In fact, I'd suggest that texting while driving today is a bigger problem than kids of high school age driving drunk.

Jen.....some of it has already leaked on east.......We were in the upper 80's here today...Some humidity with it too.....Did you send that along....In fact, it was still 80 at 8 pm. Have my ceiling fan on here in the office.
Quentin
John: Probably. You get water, you get ergos. So....
Serve with mustard!
Q - our humdity went down as temp went up, but now just the reverse is happening. I turned on air, ceiling fans and floor fans. But before that - we went fishing (fish were hiding) and then train watching. Trains were sorta hiding. Lunch, however, was not!

Deshler Ohio-crossroads of the B&O Matt eats your fries.YUM! Clinton st viaduct undefeated against too tall trucks!!!(voted to be called the "Clinton St. can opener").
We're about to get wet courtesy of of friends to the north, but it looks like it might clear out by noon, if the thunderstorms they were threatening don't start firing early.
I can narrate from the relative safety of my canopy, but that still leaves the students out in the rain. Not good.
Good Morning
Well, after our return to winter we are now in summer mode...going to a high of 76F feeling like 84F....
Today will feature some train running and cleaning out the lost cause that is our so called garage....
Have a good day!!

Round One barely wet my driveway. As long as Round Two is clear of us by 1230, we're golden.
Good Wednesday morning everyone. Sunny, with temps in the mid to upper 70s. Took a piece of outgoing mail out to the mailbox about 8 this morning, and got my paper. Didn't even have a sweater on, or long sleeves. Felt very nice. We're supposed to have highs in the upper 80s and could see 90 degrees this afternoon. Tomorrow, is when the humidity rolls in. Yuck!
Need to make a correction to my post yesterday: my doctor's appointment is Wednesday, May 22, not the 20th. Need to find a ride, as I no longer can use Wheels for my transportation (after January 1st, I lost my Medicaid). They said I now "make too much to qualify for the Medicaid". Go figure.
Everyone have a beautiful day, take care, keep safe, and get out and enjoy the sunshine, ifin' you can.

J....Our early morning started with 70 degrees and a nice breeze...Hope the humidity doesn't set in heavy yet. Yesterday...maybe the day before...{Monday}, they were calling for snow flurries back in my little home town over in Pennsylvania.
Last evening in our area, it was beautiful...Sat out front {with my little Ella}, and enjoyed the early evening like it was mid summer....80 degrees yet at 8 pm...Sunset now at 8:51. The evening gets away so quickly. Oh, and our Pacers put another one on the W side last night...Their Series now: 3 to 1...So far, so good.
Well, so much for "nothing." Little cells kept popping up across the river. One dropped quarter inch hail on us while we were setting up.
Fortunately, by the time we brought the students out to watch the demonstration, the rain had quit for the day. But so had the sun. Wind was still blowing though.
All in all, the demo/drill went well. Of the eight "prom-goers" in the two cars, three died and one (driver of the car that T-boned the other) got arrested for DWI. The driver of another car that came up on the scene was also arrested after he picked a fight with the driver of the first car.
The folks doing safety and observing the operation told me it was a pretty somber audience.
Let's hope the kids take it to heart and go home safe and sober after the prom.
We have a choice here...high humidity when temperatures are sorta down, low humidity when temperature going through roof...
Good Evening
Today we had a bit of an operating session with no incidents accident nor Broake and Howe employees deployed near our vicinity...thankee very much... Going to try a bigger op session on Saturday...heeheehee
Have a good evening peeps!!
well work was busier today for a change.Saw Ns take an autorack train into the siding but he wasn't there for very long.chores and errands later.Preparing for the corn city this weekend.
Joe
Figures - nice and sunny today, with no chance of rain... Coulda used that yesterday.
But I'm not going to complain!
Time to check the mail, and maybe water the blueberries...
Sunny with a high of 66F projected.....we'll see it get warmer....
Not much happening today...we still be cleaning 'The Lost Cause'...
Brekky cart at your service!!
Hey Cat!....Git yur net ready....Boss & Mud coming thru to wander in ol' Tin-Shoes and RRKen's back yard.
Probably will go east to Lincoln, then north towards Murphy and accross the top of Iowa. Wanna at least see what's evolved at Oelwein and a few other places. (no derailments like Grand Junction this time?)
Hey Mud! Is Boss off her crutches? I checked the map and this will be a short trip for you! Ordering in some stormy weather for Sunday, especially. Bring your rain gear! You will probably need it ... in Iowa!
Watch for waving net!
^~^
It's been hot and humid these past two days...but right now, we're about to be crossed with a red-radar line direction heading northeast....Doesn't seem too wide, but it sure is dark here for a bit before 6 pm.
And I see Mud is on the never ending road still.......
evening
lots of visitors already at the trainpark in Deshler. Going to be a great day tomorrow. Everything is ready to go.
Boss ditched cane/walker/crutches within 72 Hrs of getting home. Trip is a dry run/ trial of sorts. Part of her knee remains numb, but it does not effect walking.
Da Boyz is cornfused - I leave, I come back, only to leave again w/ the Boss, come back and go over the hill after dropping of the Boss.
Murphy was a little too bizzy this time to connect with.

Travellin' Feathers
We found a whole pile of dullness for our viewing pleasure here..no partly was involved...
Also, Lost Cause won round one...still more stuff than there was before...sigh....so, on to round two tomorrow.....sigh....
As well we will have our Saturday afternoon operating session..and see who shows up....
Have a good'un....
MC: Good to hear Boss Chicken is doing better....
You know that GPS in your cell phone? Well, one woman is alive because of hers tonight (although she lost the phone).
She went for a walk down a trail near her house - apparently she's walked it before - but ended up lost and disoriented after dark. She'd been gone for up to two hours (not really sure) when the police were called. The fire department (us) was called a little later when it appeared a search would be necessary.
Fortunately, it was determined that she had her cell phone with her, and they were able to successfully ping it and get a GPS location, a good quarter mile or more off the road, and about a mile and a half from where she started.
Police and a police canine were able to locate her. As mentioned, she had lost her phone, but wasn't far from where she lost it. All that was left then was a slow trek through woods and thick brush, not to mention wet areas, for that quarter mile or more.
She was turned over to EMS about five hours after she was reported missing, tired, wet, scratched, but otherwise OK.
Good Saturday morning everyone. Yeah, I know, I'm up really early for me, anymore. Been reading a couple of other threads this morning, trying to catch up on my 'railroad reading'.
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready for you all, and breakfast on the the warmer bar.
Larry, glad there was a good outcome for the lady.
Mudchicken, also glad to hear Boss Hen is doing well.
Everyone have a good day, take care, keep safe and see you all later.
good Sunday Morning
Csx ran some great stuff yesterday.we also had visitors from BNSF ,NS and CN.Had surprise auto rack trains take the NW and SW wyes at Deshler.Time for Church and Sunday school.Breakfast is ready.Back to work tonight.
Good Sunday morning everyone. Foggy here in Shepherdsville and up in Louisville Metro. The fog is beginning to lift a little bit. Current temp is in the mid 60s.
Joe, I'm glad you all had a great time yesterday in Deshler. I don't get to see any trains out here in the country, unless I'm on Hwy. 1020, on my way up to Louisville; sometimes, though, when my niece and I are going into the Kroger out here, I get to hear some train horns. CSX has tracks close by the Kroger. The afternoon Sarah came out to see me, we were going into Kroger after I got my hair cut, and we heard a train going by, but couldn't see it.
Thanks for breakfast Joe, and everyone have a good day, keep safe and take care.
