Good Sunday morning all.  Cloudy and 66 degrees F. here in Louisville this morning.  Also breezy, with winds beginning to pick up a bit.  Should be back up in the upper 70s, low 80s later this afternoon.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  And breakfast is ready and on the breakfast bar.

Also have Sunday Dinner going in the Crock Pot/Slow Cooker:  Beef roast, taters, carrots and onion.  Not sure what time I'll be back home from Church today, as the canon under the Bishop will be there to talk with myself and another lady, who are to be confirmed as Episcopalians on Oct. 28th.  Then, it'll be packing time for me

Everyone have a good day, be careful and safe going to Church, work, railfanning, whatever else you have planned for the day.  Hopefully, I'll see you all in the morning, at least.

Kinda glad I wasn't the patchmaster today.  It was a lot drier selling chicken dinners at the FD than I'm sure it was in the Pumpkin Patch.

Still - I'm beat.  We ran five trains yesterday, and restocking the patch after each was a challenge.  Not much time to sit down and rest.

On the other hand, I've got a couple of versions of I'm a Train on the CD with the spooky sounds, so that echoed through the woods occasionally when the train wasn't at the Patch.

Tom, I was never was able to determine just what the responsibilities of a canon in the Epsicopal Church were, even though David Blackaller, the then canon of St. Michael's Cathedral in Boise, married Ricki and me. Ricki grew up in the Episcopal Church, but she was not able to define the responsibilities of a canon. Wickipedia gives no information on the responsiblities of an Epsicopal canon though it does have information concerning Catholic canons ( men as well as rules).

We have mild fall weather today.

I go to see my urologist tomorrow morning; I hope he will say that I can stand the procedure that was scheduled to be done three months ago, and the urostomy can be undone.

Tom, like Johnny, I'm not too sure of the Episcopalian canon's responsibilities.  But I can say that she is very soft spoken.

Barry (BOC), we are now getting some rain.  Not a whole lot, just enough to get everything wet.

Hope everyone has enjoyed their day.  I also hope that each and every one of you have a good week, and hopefully, sometime this week, after tomorrow morning, I'll be able to get back in and visit with you very fine and good people.  Love you all.

We seem to have passed on our wind to the east....Had two days of it.

Today, not bad...51 early this morning, and the day is getting brighter as the hours pass.  Believe we'll see sunshine by afternoon.  70 forecast for tomorrow.

Have a good week all.

Good afternoon.

We have had a few nice days around here. On Friday I was out to pick up a prescription, and I wished I could enjoy a long walk home but time didn't permit. It is nice out now, if a bit windy. 66° and sunny. I am out soon for a Flu Shot and I am thinking of taking a long way home to enjoy the walk. The forecast is calling for snow by the weekend.

Nothing else to report on, really. Was busy with the family over the weekend. No recent RR news that I can see.

Everyone have a good day.

Yup - It's been here all day.  Still pretty breezy tonight, for that matter.  Can't complain too much, though.  At least the temps are tolerable, and it only sprinkled a few times.

I define "miserable weather" as cold, rainy, and windy, all together.

.....Trees are almost calm again today.  Clear blue sky, and now 50 degrees.  Believe today's forecast says, 68 for the high.  Must head to Staples for ink cartridges for this 3 in 1....and hopefully mow this afternoon...along with mulching some leaves at the same time.  The wind kind of helped me this time....Many of the neighbors's leaves blew on past....But I did get some of them.

Might make a trip out to Pennsylvania...further east, than the home front....and would like to have no nasty weather decide to set in yet.....

.....Walt, that's no fair.  You're breaking my records.  Had an FM antenna in a box for about 5 years before I got it out and put it to work...

And....I have at least two pairs of shoes in boxes...One pair, I've never opened since I brought them home...That must be 7 or 8 yrs ago....and another pair, that I have looked at, but they are not getting any use either...Wonder why we do such things...?  This last one is a pair of Rockport type tennys....black...just the opposite of what I use each day for general use....They are very light tan....Seems when something works for me....I stick with it.  And I'm not hard on shoes.

Edit:  Noting Walts comment of Larry's birthday...I pass on my best wishes for a good special day for him too.

Another edit:  Note a roller working over on the Roanoke Hotel cam view, what looks like a removed prior Passenger platform....Perhaps was concrete,  Now it's rolling the surface that was below the concrete....Are they preparing to redo a passenger platform.....?  Can't {so far}, figure out just what is going on there}.  It's ongoing now for several weeks.

Good to see you around Quentin.

We have a snow storm blowing in. In the last few minutes you can hear the wind making haunted house sound effects against the building. The wind came up so fast that fallen leaves that had been on the ground are now soaked and have blown up against my living room windows. They were talking about winds of up to 50 mph last night. The last report I saw was 45° but it has obviously gotten much colder than that in the last little while.

Happy B-Day Larry.

If you folks get a chance, check out the thread on the old road/rail bridge at East Coulee. That was the end of the line that used to run past our station at Irricana. I hadn't seen pictures of that bridge in colour before, that I can remember. After everything that has been going on around here this past six months, seeing pictures of that part of the world kind of brought me up short for a few moments.

Hope everyone has a warm good day.

Bruce

.....Thank you Bruce.....I don't care for the weather scenario you just described....Clear skies here, and I just finished mowing the yard about an hour and a half ago....62 degrees then.

Wish we had clear skies here. The weather guesser didn't say anything about rain this morning but all of a sudden the local yo-yo is talking about a 40-50% chance this evening and/or tonight. Last time he said that we got an inch and a half inside of an hour! Speaking of tonight, seems that chimichangas with chili and cheese sounds good.

jeffrey....We have started to catch up a bit on the deficit of rain much of this Summer...Really destroyed crops and any thing that grows in this area....Including my really nice lawn.

It too has come back, but has a way to go yet to equal where it was before the drought.  Grass is nice and dark green, just some spots take longer to fill in.

Believe we're to have a pretty nice sunny day tomorrow too.....

Good Morning

Well, good to see that I am not the only person up at strange times...dang chemo induced insomnia....

We are getting rained and winded on again...after a mainly dull day blossomed forth with sun..in time for sunset....

This morning will be rainy and cold as well as windy..supposed to stop raining later in the morning and be variably dull for the rest of the day...

Hi all.  Reporting in from Sunny Shepherdsville, KY.  I'm not even sure what the current temp is, but its really cool outside.

Joe, thanks so very, very much for taking care of things in here this week.  From the way things look now, it'll be sometime next

Wednesday for I am back home.  When my brother & neice picked me up Monday morning, we ended up taking him to the ER:  he isn't sure what he did, but he messed up a crushed vertabrae in his back, and could hardly walk.  He is on muscle relaxer and pain pills.  Seems to be doing a little bit better, and is planning to go back to work tonight.

Everyone take care, and see you all when I can manage to get in.

Peace be withi you. 60 and hazy in Carolina, up from 53 at 0800. It is expected to make it up into the low 70s later. My weather toolbar has croaked and I don't have the instant forecast anymore.

A belated birthday greeting to Larry. Sorry I'm late.

CW, I can relate to your brother's back problem. I have a congenital defect that makes walking or standsing very painful. I played school football for 5 years, pulled a tour in the navy and worked in construction and never knew I had it. One day, I was lifting a plumbing fixture and it shouted HEY, HERE I IS at me very loudly. It has grown progressively worse over the years, Now, I virtually live on pain med. Please give him my regards.

Everyone take care and stay safe.

Tom

The Brady street RR bridge struck again, but did not kill the trailer on Wednesday morning. So late this afternoon the trucker ran a red light and got hit by a car. No injuries in either accident.
