80 degrees to snow in 24 hours - Yep, it's that time of year. (-and we have a forest/range fire south of the Royal Gorge/Canon City getting pushed around by 40-60+ MPH windsSigh)

(If the fire truck is the aircraft carrier or battleship, a brush truck is the destroyer/frigate ... they get called skirmish trucks in some parts of the country)

Mudchicken Nothing is worth taking the risk of losing a life over. Come home tonight in the same condition that you left home this morning in. Safety begins with ME.... cinscocom-west

BC, I am sorry to hear that something questionable showed up. Certainly, we hope that this will not mean more chemotherapy. At least what you had did have a good effect on you, unlike what has been tried for the sister of a grammar/high school classmate of mine; a cousin of theirs has told me that the doctors have not been able to determine just what to use.

Good Thursday morning all.  Really enjoyed my time with my brother and his family.  And loved being back in the country.

Joe and BC, thank you guys so much for taking care of things in here.  And BC, I hope and pray that everything turns out all right, with whatever the oncologist found on the x-ray.  Joe, thanks for taking care of breakfast this morning.  I've  been trying to type on here for a half hour, with nothing happening on the screen:  gee whiz, I come back and everything decides to go haywire?

Larry, sounds like you all have a nice brush truck.

Mookie, made a fresh chocolate cake for you and everyone last night:  its cool, iced and ready to cut into!!  Everyone have a good morning,  take care and see you all again this afternoon.

Good Friday morning all.  Current temp at 5:53 a.m.:  61 degrees; now it will be slowly falling the rest of the day.  Projected highs for Saturday through next week will only be in the 50s.  Guess Indian Summer is over for usins here in Louisville.

Hello Bob!  Good to see you dropped in earlier.  Yeah, I really enjoyed my vacation.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are freshly made and ready to pour, including hot tea and hot chocolate.  On the serving bar this morning:  our Friday morning doughnuts/danish/muffins/bear claws along with bacon, eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy.

BC, sorry about the news you received from the doctor yesterday.  Will continue to pray that the cancer will be taken away totally from you.

Everyone have a good morning, take care and see you all this afternoon.

Afternoon all.  46 rainy, windy degrees here in Louisville at 4:22 p.m.  Been raining since about 8:00 this morning:  slow steady rain.  At least it is nice and comfy here in the house!  As a matter of fact, the furnace just kicked on.

Thanks, Tom and Joe for the welcome backs.

Our Friday Fish Fry is now underway on the warmer/cooler bar:

Fish:  Bass, bluegill, cod, flounder, haddock, halibut, perch, salmon patties & salmon croquettes, jumbo butterfly shrimp, popcorn shrimp and Tilapia.

Side Dishes:  Baked beans, corn on the cob, cole slaw, fries, hush puppies, mac & cheese, deep fried breaded mushrooms, mixed greens.

Desserts:  Chocolate cake w/white icing, yellow cake w/chocolate icing, strawberry/rhubarb pie, pecan pie, and apple, peach and blackberry cobblers w/whatever flavor ice cream you want, if you want anything ala mode.

Hope you all have had a good morning/afternoon and will have a very good evening.  Just stay as dry as possible, if you're in line for the rain showers, take care and see you all in the morning.

Good Morning....and all the breakfast stuff is at the ready here!

I'm up and getting a few things cleaned up in here...all kinds of rain has been falling on our'n heads here and, of course, with Sandy getting ready to to do her thing I'll be watching my inland lake/ocean thing here...in fact, our neighbour to the other side of the crescent has already been seen creating a canal so the water can have somewhere else to go other than straight through my front yard...Laugh

Our forecast has us getting at least one more day of good ol' fashioned downpour city...a small sunny break or two on Sunday..then, right back to the swing of things with a few inches of rain...oh...and wind....Sigh

Well, with the generator here all prepped and at the ready...we'll see what happens around here...everyone be careful!!!

Good Morning to all.....We've been gone most of this week and just reporting back in.

First off:  My Prayers to B C for treatments to be successful....

I traveled to eastern Pennsylvania and had beautiful weather for both directions.  And my automobile treated me like a king....being a "car guy", that's meaningful.

I visited a loved one, and the weather was perfect.  And now look at what is headed {the center of it}, right where I was visiting.....And it is sounding like an out of the bracket type storm....and will be reaching far inland too....

Right here, out in Indiana, we're being forecast for possible wind and {maybe even some snow activity}, Tue...Wed...So the Pennsylvania center area might really see some nasty stuff....and the eastern shores where the population is so great.

C W, glad to hear you had a good visit.....Boy, I certainly did....No trouble, absolutely, none...!  Saw gas prices as low as $3.09 / gal reg., but each fillup for me was a bit over 4 dollars...{hi test}...but so be it, I had no choice.

So...all that can, enjoy the weekend.

Wet here today, but I hesitate to say it's because of Sandy.  That'll come tomorrow.  We've got high wind warnings for tonight and tomorrow, and still are seeing forecasts for significant rain.  Our utility is already gearing up, but with the wind, power outages are a very real possibility.

At least most of our leaves are already gone off the trees, although that does raise the potential for drainage issues, with leaves covering storm drains, etc.  Folks further south may see some tree issues with all that "sail area."

I've got a meeting I need to make in the morning.  Hopefully there won't be anything major before then.

This one's gonna be one for the books by all appearances.

Afternoon all.  Had a little bit of sunshine earlier, but not it is overcast and quite windy outside.

Like everyone else, I'm keeping everyone along with eastern seaboard in my thoughts and prayers.

My confirmation went well this morning.  The only problem I had, was standing up in front of the Bishop, hoping my legs didn't give out on me (and yes, I was leaning on my cane), but still felt like I was going to go tumbling over.  But I made it, without mishap.  Walt and Sarah came for the service.  She managed to have today off.  And all the food afterwards, was really good:  Fried chicken wings, baked ham, mac & cheese (actually shells & cheese), slaw, potato salad, fruit salad, glazed carrots, and I can't think what all else there was.  On the dessert side:  cherry pie, peach cobbler, yellow cake w/caramel icing, spice or jam cake, angel food cake, and oatmeal cookies.  I am totally stuffed.

Here is our Sunday Dinner menu for today:

1.  Baked ham

2.  Grilled pork chops

Veggies:  green beans, broccoli spears w/butter sauce, potato salad, slaw, fried green tomatoes, and baked cornbread.

Desserts:  chocolate cake, peach cobbler, strawberry cheesecake.

Hope you all have a good afternoon/evening, take care, and keep warm.
