Sir C:  I think watching a couple of guys riding around in golf carts and clapping would be more entertaining to watch.....Laugh

Geese are very adaptable - they may come up with something of their own....

Warm temps?  20's?  Sick of winter - isn't it spring yet?

I  have two furry black scotties with big teeth, jaws and paws that would love to do this, EXCEPT for the water part. (a breeder warned us long ago that Scottish Terriers swim like rocks)....Kinda reminds me of the motorized duck decoy and the flying lawn-mowers.

The geese and goose poop is everywhere around here right now. During Tuesday's snowstorm here, about a dozen moved into the office garage with interesting results....

Mooks: you get three days of warm temps, then the snow comes back. The ski areas west of here are much relieved that Maw Nature finally started putting powder up in the mountains. Colorado is way behind in the snowpck dept.

Joe - radio just said Iowa got the blunt of it.  Probably not a lot to send east after that!

Now just cold.  But supposed to be sunny - so that will make it all bearable.  And the thermostat at 70 won't hurt, either.

Larry:  They are guessing tomorrow afternoon that winds will be from the NW at up to 55-60mph here..which will set up a snowtreamer or two around here...long johns will definitely be on.

Raining here (10PM).  No real sign of the wind they're threatening us with yet.  Might make an interesting drive to the RR tomorrow.

Got the pictures done at the FD.  Not bad, but I didn't want to wait another half hour or so, so there are some shadows.

Still, they're more up to date that what was on our website.

I'm thinking long johns will be sounding good for working on the RR tomorrow night.

So far, all we've gotten is rain, off and on all day, along with gusty winds.  And you can tell that the temps are dropping.  Dug out my thermals and put them on last night, and still have them on under my sweats and hoodie pullover.

Several wind advisories/warnings for places in southern Indiana, but so far, no warnings/advisories for Kentucky.

Q - bad news is it has no moisture, but good news is it is light.  Our landlord is using a snowblower and I think it is throwing it into the lots around us!

I shoveled a path to the wildlife - most of the snow ended up in my face!  50mph winds last nite, but only about 20 today.  Little raw.  Some rain before the snow, which was nice.  Just not very much.

Well we're waiting to see what we receive out of the mess that is passing a bit north of us....Rain overnight, and some light rain this morning....While still dark, we had some thunder and lightning.

Mild so far, but we know it will turn colder later today.

Word is perhaps 1 to 2" of the stuff {snow} tonight.

Too bad to have so much weather that will effect so many in their traveling plans for Christmas.

Found a bargin on socks at our mall today...so believe I'm headed back for a couple more pkg's. of them.  They were the correct ones I tend to use all the time so must not pass them up.

But first, we'll stop and have a good breakfast.

Best to all for whatever plans you might have for the fast approaching Holiday.

Looking like a sunny (if cold) day here.  Still waiting to see what Draco brings us.

One sunny day project is a group photo of our fire apparatus in front of the station.  And we have a perfect day for it.  Better get to work.

Good Thursday morning all.  Woke up at 6 a.m. to thunder, and pouring rain.  Nothing now, with temps in the low to mid 50s, will be slowly dropping throughout the day.  Will be getting rain again, then between 5 and 8 tonight, the rain is supposed to turn to snow.  Not supposed to see much accumulation, maybe a dusting for an inch of snow.  The kids will be happy, though.

Coffee, juices, and other morning beverages are freshly made and ready to go.  Breakfast is also ready and on the warmer station, along with a small selection of doughnuts and danish, including bear claws and bagels.

Everyone have a good day, take care with all these weather changes, drive carefully, etc., and see you all later.

An IPad....

If you like, I'll send my three-year-old grandson over to help you learn how to use it...   Smile, Wink & Grin

Actually, he does use his mom's on a regular basis.  He's got YouTube figured out for finding his favorite cartoons.

I got myself an early Christmas present - a Nexus 7.  It's a tablet, as well, and so far I'm liking it.  They were smart enough not to include a camera (well, there is one facing the user, for stuff like Skype), so you won't see me out taking pictures with it.  Best part is that it uses the same OS as my "smart" phone, so I can load many of the same apps on it.

Speaking of my smart phone - I took it in to have the battery checked, as I feel it's on it's last legs.  They checked it out, but didn't seem to think it needed attention.  We'll see.

Finished my Christmas Shopping - items which will be delivered in person next week.  Don't know what Mom's getting - my sisters usually arrange that and I just chip in.

Got some chores to do.

Electronics - Part 2:

Sitting here at the puter this morning.  Decided I would do the old "Engineer's Nap" - really getting into it when my purse, located on the floor behind me started some kind of siren.  Good thing I didn't have anything more than chair handles in my hands!

It was my new cell phone - turned off mind you - alerting me to the fact that we are to prepare for a blizzard!  I didn't know it did anything but lay there and play dumb!  I almost ripped my purse apart trying to get to my cell phone!

Now I wonder if it will automatically call my doctor and report a heart attack due to cell phone scare!

And ...

My kids bought me an early Christmas gift...

.....Thank you Joe....Much appreciated.

Our morning here has just a very light overcast....Hi 20's when I first looked this morning.  That is some massive snow storm sweaping up across from southwest to north, northeast....Luckily, it appears to be going just north of us...but perhaps we'll see an edge of it.  Haven't heard of any accumulation to occur here as of yet, but that system is passing very close on our northwest side...

Jen, it appears you folks in NE will be receiving a bit of it.....
