Went to the Living Room not very long ago to change channels on the TV so I could see our local news for Sat. evening, (ABC) and wound up seeing the Nebraska vs whomevergame. I looked very close, but couldn't see Mookie in the stands.

Thus far here at the house, about 1/2 inch of rain....nice steady drizzle for now, would be nice for it to continue that way with no major storms or downpours.

They're still calling for lots of rain overnight, into tomorrow; looks like the "Governors Cup", "Blue-Red", "whatever football game tomorrow will be a very muddy game!

(which will hosted by UL at Papa John's Stadium-former site of South Louisville Shops & rail yard of the L & N Railroad.)

(which is/was still considered a Haz-Mat site, and UL is trying to get monies from CSX for cleaning up the site-which originally was on the "Super-Fund" list of cleanups.)

Good Sunday morning all.  Air very still outside, no breeze whatsoever.  Temp is still in the low to mid 70s, going for a high this afternoon, in the 80s.  Still calling for some heavy rain today, and like Mutt said last night, the UK-U of L game is gonna be a muddy game (probably in more ways than one).

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  On the breakfast/warmer bar this morning:  bacon, scrambled eggs, or bacon, sausage, egg wraps.

Everyone have a good morning, take care going to Church, Work, Railfanning, and whatever else you have planned for this morning.  Justin, hope you all have a safe trip back home to Indiana.  Mookie:  see that Nebraska whomped the daylights out of the opposing team!

Adrian....That is a prize winning night photo of your aircraft...Beautiful.  I'm a sucker for night pic's., but I believe this one would have wide spread support.

Here in Muncie....Still waiting for the {first forecast}, 4 to 6" of rain from Isaac....Then it was maybe 3", and so far, we've received .02"...{two tenths of an inch...!}...Boy we were counting on the several  days it would have to soak into the ground.

Warm this morning....and of course overcast.

Church is a half hour earlier this morning...Just one Service.  So must soon get ready.

Everyone have a good Sunday.

It was stopped at level truck bed loading configuration when I opened it for the photo, but after killing hydraulics without connecting the lock links to the ramp, it slowly will bleed down as the cylinders bypass.

Adrian - Pretty good-sized houses in your neighborhood.  I like the first sunset one.  Still don't know how they or bumblebees take off and land so efficiently - or at all!

Mutt - I was the one in red.....

We played S Mississippi - I heard they are one conference below us, so they played really well.  You have to admire those schools that will take on even the big dogs.

Told the Driver - according to my scanner - the people arrived, we made our first touchdown and everyone started falling down.  Had about 300 heat exhaustion incidents - even the care givers - having to run up and down the staduim stairs to move people!

Mook, if you by chance watch the "Big Game" here in Lou. today, (ESPN)

I'll be wearing BLUE-----hope I won't be blue afterwards. (UK is supposed to be the "Underdog" this year.)(maybe some of the UL players will get lost in the puddles!)Smile, Wink & Grin

Game time is about 3:30 and we still having a steady rain -- supposed to last most of the day.

Afternoon all.  Adrian, those are some very good shots!!  You have a fantastic eye for picture taking!  Maybe you ought to send some to a magazine, and then we'll see some your pics on calendars, greeting cards, etc?

We are currently sitting at 76 degrees, with a light drizzle.

Here is our Sunday Dinner:

Turkey, dressing, green beans, mashed taters, corn, tater salad, mac & cheese, garden salad and fresh from the oven homemade dinner rolls, fresh from the oven.

Dessert:  Yellow cake w/chocolate icing

Everyone have a good evening, take care and see you later or in the morning, whichever comes first.Laugh

Mutt, after hearing and seeing Maxwell House coffee's motto all my life, you are the first person I have known to question the flavor of the last drop. Perhaps it is left in the cup because it is not as good as all that went before it?Smile

Quentin and Paula, it was wonderful to be in church this morning, for the first time since the last Sunday in June. The physical therapists in the care facility where I am have done wonders with my physical condition. I was able to stand all during the parts of the serrvice in which the congregation stands (I had not been able to do so since my hernia repair at the end of December), and I assisted in receiving the offering (I had done that until about the end of May).

We had a good shower night before last, and yesterday and today were cooler that what we had experienced for many days (of course, I have not been outside much, but I have taken some walks outside in the morning).

Can I hold Spring for a few min?  I miss having a pet, until they need work.  Kind of like babies!

Mutt - blue will be your color - sorry 'bout that, but unless things change in the next few minutes....

Now - must go find that cake....

Johnny, my Dad brought that one up about the Maxwell House commercial probably 40+ years ago, just something that's always stuck in my mind. I guess your answer is as good as any I've ever heard.

Mook, it's a very good thing I like the color blue, I just don't like being, or feeling blue.......at least the Cats beat the Cards in Basketball!!

Good Monday morning all, and Happy Labor Day.  Joe, thank you so very much for taking care of breakfast this morning.  I decided last night, that I was going to sleep in this morning, so closed the bedroom door, to keep Trap & Uba out of the bedroom.  So nice to wake up, without a cat or two, surrounding you on the bed.

Johnny, I'm so glad that you are recovering so well.  That is very good to hear.

Mookie, you know I'm not a football fan, but guess I'll say Congrats to the U of L Cards on their win yesterday.

Most of the rain seems to be going east of us, but we will still have a few on again, off  again chances of rain thru tomorrow morning.  But most of the remnants of Isaac are to the south and east of Louisville.  75 degrees here in Louisville, going for a high in the low 80s, could see a high of 84 later this afternoon.  But it is very muggy outside.

Everyone have a good day, take care and see you all later this afternoon.

Morning everyone......

About 70 here in Burlington, WI, headed for a high of about 90.  Home all this week, the younger of my two sisters is getting married this Saturday.  So, it's prep for that and getting a few things done around the house.  Forecast looks good so far, high of 70 is predicted next weekend.  Let's hope the forecasters are right.....

Think today might be a good day to head to the basement and work on the layout I want to set up under the Christmas tree this year......

See everyone later....

Adrain....I have to agree, your other two shots are very nice.  However, I must stick with my first choice of your aircraft night shot, with the loading ramp open....That is a winner.

Of your "other" two photos:  I would choose the "take off" in the pink sky.

Johnny....Wonderful to hear your ability to do more and your visit to church and even participated there in the activity.....Best to you.  May the Lord continue to help you build on your active ability.

Weather system's {Isaac}, final count for here:  From Friday overnight to this Monday morning, we received .07" of rain....Way off from what was forecast.  Like Paula, believe much of it slid under us and on east.  What we did get was in a good fashion....slow and able to soak into the ground.  Thought we'd get enough for my yard to completely fill in...and it did do more of that...but still a bit more to go.

There is on and off showers forecast for various times this week.  Perhaps we can accomplish that with some of that rain.....If we get it.

Afternoon all.  Still getting spotty showers/drizzles/sprinkles.  Had to walk 6 blocks east of us, to do a quick errand for Walt, and got drizzled on, then rained on (enough to leave quite a few water spots on my eyeglasses).

Here is our menu for the rest of the afternoon/evening:

1.  Leftover turkey, dressing and all the rest of the trimmings

2.  Beef stroganagh (sp?) w/garden salad and Italian bread sticks

Everyone have a good afternoon, stay dry if you can, and see you all later.

Good Evening...

We actually got to 88F feeling like 106F today...in the baking sun...tomorrow? More of the same with a slight risk of those ol' t'underin'boomers...

Today was a slow day...got a few things done in the trainroom...but mostly got a fair lot of house stuff done...as per usual...Whistling

I'm beat.

Conductor Thursday.

Friday I was supposed to be doing general prep work for the weekend's events (20th Anniversary of the start of the current operation), but ended up as engineer.

Saturday I was ground support and ground control for the yard area.  I must have walked ten miles.

Sunday I was engineer again, with a new experience - running two units and swapping ends - four times.  Might not sound hard, but with units that are 65 and 55 years old, the foibles start to come into play.

I'm beat.

On the plus side, I got plenty of seat time...

Gonna go put the truck in the garage (now that it's cleaned out), put the laundry in the drier and go soak in the tub for who knows how long.

Good Tuesday morning all.  Larry, welcome back!  Hope you managed to get some good sleep last night.  It sounds like you had an exhausting 5 days on the railroad.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Breakfast is also ready and on the breakfast/warmer bar.

Everyone have a good morning, take care, and I'll see you all hopefully sometime this afternoon.  Going to be a busy morning with Tuesday Produce and have quite a few other things to take care of here at home .

Now that our Tree has been located, der Chicken is on the move.

I have declared our area the new middle-of-the-true-midwest desert.  It is now past Labor Day and we should have had some rain over this last weekend.  Nada.  But after today, if they aren't pulling mah string....it may be only in the 80's during the days.  But no rain for next 10 days.  Sigh

I think "sigh" and I will wash Millie - see if that works.

.....Our morning a little humid....Grass very wet.  Not raining.  Keeping windows closed today...Air on to keep humidity under control

Off and on sunshine here coming in my office window this morning....Sure hope the grass does dry so I can get it mowed.

A few stops to make today, including the lunch one...No sure where yet.  Possible rain several days this week, but I'll believe it when I see it.....At least enough to make a difference.
