We just had another monsoonal shower show up of the 60% type...going to be like this all day as well...high? Would you believe...66F?Tongue Tied

aaaahhhh...but t'is normal around Western Fair week to have the highs go tumbling down and to be cold at night...lows at 46F and such as well....

Going to be doing some housework here..laundry doing , vacuuming, et cetera....yay...

We'll see if any traintime comes our way here...

Morning all......

Adrian, you're probably feeling a bit like me when I was handed the keys to a brand new $130,000 Kenworth T700 semi tractor, even the president of Millis came out to congratulate me......

Larry: I'm having problems on this end too, truck went down to dealer Wednesday, they changed the exhaust, wound up doing a complete brake job on it, got it all buttoned up, the tech stepped on the brake pedal and promptly blew out all the brake lines.  Was promised it would be done yesterday, but the tech is having a hard time removing the old brake lines still, will hopefully get it back Monday, else it may wind up staying at the dealer until I return home in October.  At least the brakes should be good for another ten years.....

Well, I now have a brother-in-law, and my sister has a longer last name,  The ceremony was nice, just the immediate family, and Jackie and Jason got to leave the church in a 1957 Oldsmobile station wagon provided by one of my parents' friends.  Reception was nice, got to meet my dad's current boss, as well as talk to the former owners of my house.  I now understand why I'm nuts.....

Everyone's still in recovery mode this morning, so we will see everyone later.....

Afternoon all.  Randy, very glad your sister's wedding turned out so nicely!  Hope they get your truck fixed tomorrow for you.

It is such a beautiful afternoon.  Feels like autumn outside, with nice warm sunshine, and a nice,  not too cool breeze.

Our Sunday Dinner today is courtesy of Walt :  he made a big ole pot of his chili last night.  So there is definitely plenty to go around.

Also on the menu:

leftover pizzas from last night

leftover stroganoff from Thursday night

and. . . .Fresh from the oven Roast beef w/potatoes, carrots & onion, your choice of green beans w/shelled beans, broccoli spears w/butter sauce, cole slaw or garden salad, corn, and baked cornbread.

Everyone have a good evening, take care and see you in the morning.

Day two of the train show is in the books, although I didn't hear the attendance for Sunday.  Looked like a pretty good crowd.

Finally hoed out the truck.  It tends to collect detritius - stuff I'm not ready to throw away, but don't need right now.

Time to start packing, too.  I'm considering mailing some stuff out to Mom instead of packing a suitcase.  That way I'm only dealing with a carry-on bag and my briefcase.  And it'll likely be cheaper than the luggage fee for a checked bag anyhow.

Busy, busy, busy.

Good Monday morning all.  Larry, hope you have a safe trip out to Arizona to see your Mom.  And then a safe trip back to NY.

60 degrees currently here  in Louisville.  Supposed to get up to 79 degrees this afternoon; should be mostly sunshine for today.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  On the breakfast/warmer bar this morning:  bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, toast, bagels, bear claws; or a bowl of cereal.

Everyone have a safe, good morning, take care and see you all this afternoon.

Good morning everybody...it's a very cool 49F here in suburban Chicago today and I was able to see my breath for the first time this season when I walked my dog about an hour ago!  Yipes, I inadvertenly left my rear car windows open last night and hte inside of the car is kind of damp as a result...guess it will dry when the sun comes out and takes our temps to about 76F later today.

Good Tuesday morning all.  60 degrees here in Louisville this morning, by the time I go over to Produce at 8 a.m., we'll be down to about 57, 58 degrees, going for a high this afternoon of about 82, 83 degrees F.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  On the breakfast/warmer bar this morning:  bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, made from scratch buttermilk biscuits, sausage gravy, bagels, bear claws,  or  how about a bowl of hot oatmeal w/toast.

Everyone have a beautiful morning, take care, keep an eye in the skies, and remember what we all experienced 11 years ago today.  See you this afternoon.

Gee, everyone must be out and about, doing other things today, since no one but Joe has been in since this morning.

Not sure what our current temp is, but it is warm outside.  Produce went well this morning, since we ended up with 60 people, and ran out everything; and we didn't get that much today, just potatoes, sweet potatoes,  onions, cabbage and caramel apples.

Our menu for this evening:  our Tuesday Mexican Fiesta:

1.  Burritos:  beef, beef & bean, and beef enchilada

2.  Tacos:  soft shell and hard shell

3.  Fajitas

4.  Enchiladas

5.  Quesadillas

6.  Spanish rice

And shredded lettuce w/diced tomatoes and onion

You all have a good evening, enjoy the weather, take care and see you all in the morning.

Been out all day in the heat and humidity - just drivin' round town to see why everyone else is out driving.

They were out driving so they could text and talk on cell phones.  We were out to watch them - verrry closely.

I am going to de-stress until we have company on Sunday.  Houston Ed sez I am stressed - but when you get farther on in years, seems like the forms get longer, more complicated and someone (not us) keeps losing them.  Gov't, VA, medical - our whole lives are on a little tiny electronic notebook.

And the only human voice you hear is "this thing is so slow!"

So - will relax and sip mah coffee & rest at least one ear.....

The county fire service memorial is done.  We used to do it at an annual convention, but we haven't had one of those in a few years, and today provides us with a convenient way to both commemorate the events of 9/11/01 and note the passing of firefighters from around the county.

The crowd wasn't huge, but the procedings were worth our time.

Time to start packing in earnest.  Gotta check the Phoenix forecast - I'd hate to arrive expecting 100 degrees and have to survive at 80....  Stick out tongue

Good Wednesday morning all.  Currently 64 degrees here in Louisville this morning, going for a high of 85 degrees.  Still have the a/c on auto fan only, but after hearing the humidity level this morning, it'll be going on straight a/c shortly:  75%.  No wonder, when I went out to get the paper, it felt yucky out.

Larry, around here yesterday, they had a Day of Service, where volunteers went around to the different firehouses and did cleanup, planting trees, shrubs, flowers, etc.

We're getting a jump on Fall Cleaning around the house.  I was sitting down last night, going through old, old papers, and putting them through the paper shredder.  Still have a bunch to go through, and then it will be on to the next fall cleaning project.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Breakfast is ready and on the breakfast/warmer bar.

Everyone have a good morning, take care and see you later, hopefully.

Good Thursday morning all.  Cloudy outside right now, and haven't even heard a temp yet this morning.  Mookie, is your rain from last night headed in our direction?  Or maybe our rain tomorrow is coming in from around Missouri?

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Breakfast this morning:  Buttermilk biscuits (large) w/your choice and or combination of:  bacon, fried egg, sausage, cheese.

Everyone have a good day, take care and hopefully, I can get back in later.  If not, there are a couple of Crock Pots w/roast, taters & carrots cooking/simmering for lunch and supper.

It is now dry and 55 degrees!!!!  Wasn't a drowner, but nice gentle rain for several hours.  This will really soak into the big cracks!

CW - this is such a slow mover, I don't know when it will get farther east than MO.  Looks like TX is contributing some water.  Wonder if we will need to wait another 3 mos for more.....

Good Friday morning all.  66 degrees here in Louisville this morning,   going for a high of 80 degrees F this afternoon, with  some rain showers coming in.  I might even try to get a walk in sometime today, and take a break from fall cleaning projects.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  And on the breakfast/warmer bar this morning, along with bacon, scrambled eggs, toast, sausage, biscuits & gravy, there also a nice selection of doughnuts (glazed, choc. covered) and bagels and bear claws.

Everyone have a good day, take care and hopefully, I can get back in to do our Friday Fish Fry.  If not, there's plenty of leftovers in the fridge, so help yourselves.
