AHA. I wasn't able to post on the forum for several days. I finally figured out that it was internet explorer 9. Uninstalling it and going back to 8 solved the problem.
90 and sunny in Carolina, expected to make it to 93 but no thunder predicted. FWIW, a county in upstate SC got 4.66 inches of rain in one hour the other day....
SL, expect to hear of more such atrocities in these last days as evil men grow worse and worse, holding other men in low esteem and hating them for existing.....
Everyone take care and try to stay cool.
Peace be with you.

Sad day on the home front Railfans...
Last night during a Midnight showing of the new Batman movie we have someone bust in a shoot all sorts of folks. As of right now it's 50 shot 12 dead...

.....Very strange....Only 70 degrees right now. Seems many are getting a bit of rain in their areas.
We're included: .75" yesterday....Slight greening in general, over the yard, but boy...it has a long way to be real "green".
We escaped any storm damage as some rain passed thru here yesterday.
And the extreme tragidy mentioned by Larry is awsome...terrible. Life snuffed out in an instant....
Heard somewhere on weather news yesterday we can expect this weather pattern to extend way into the Fall....Speaking of the dryness and heat.
Still doing my "thing" here in our home office, trying to put the pcs. together that two used to do, and now just one.....
Understand the "heat" is coming back tomorrow. Very humid today and feels muggy even though temps are much lower briefly.

Good Morning...
We are still getting rained on here but there is a fine clear arc forming to the north of us...we are at 64F going to a high of 77F today...low tonight of 57F ...
Getting to be a bit strange out there....over 15 killed and 50 injured in CO at a Batman showing...my heart goes out to the families involved there as well....
Have a few things need catching up on today...I found out my sick leave was extended another 3 months...just to be sure...I love where I work..

Good Friday morning all. 73 degrees here this morning, going for a high of 89, 90 degrees today. Last night, in just 30 - 45 minutes, we picked up almost 2 inches of rain. I didn't look out back, but in the front yard, where Sarah as that one little figure 8 flower bed, all around it looked like a pond. Water water everywhere, although you could manage to see a few little patches of grass. Then, after that storm went through, we got some slow, steady rain for awhile. Out between the airport and the Fair & Expo Center, a hotel right across from the airport, lost part of its roof from wind and rain. Several parked cars in their back lot received quite a bit of damage from the roof landing on them.
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go. The regular breakfast menu is ready and on the breakfast bar, along with a good selection of doughnuts, danish, muffins, bear claws.
Everyone have a good morning, take care, and ifin you didn't get any of the storms last night, stay as cool as possible and I'll see you all later.
You never know when you leave your home, whether you will make it back or not. So very tragic, Tree.
So sad. Driving along, minding your own business....

In Rav4 - Mom, her mother-in-law, two daughters, and a friend of the daughters. They apparently died almost instantly.
The sixth victim, unrelated to the others, was in the first vehicle hit, which ended up upside down in a ditch. She died at the hospital. The DOT employee was assisted from his pick-up just before it burst into flames. He's in critical condition at the trauma center and was flown from the scene.
The semi suffered significant damage, but the driver apparently doesn't have life-threatening injuries. He's undoubtedly given samples by now for drug and alcohol testing.
This was the worst accident I can recall in this area in the nearly 35 years I've lived here and have been involved in the fire service.
It's going to take a while for all involved to recover.

BC - send rain and cool! Remember, we are downhill from you.....
Tree - this is just horrible. Was it all family members or others in other cars? And what about the truck driver? How tragic!
We be getting a nice slow soaking here today..we got to 73F and we are going to 62F tonight...right now 69F .....
Got a bunch of stuff reloaded into my computer after having accidently reformatted the dang thing
Need to get some more coffee in me now...
Larry: My prayers to the families involved in this tragedy...
And now six, with a seventh in critical condition at a trauma center.
Nearly 12 hours later, the road is still closed.
Now five - all from one family in one vehicle. Plus one other critical.
Apparently the semi came up on a stopped line of cars and either couldn't or didn't stop in time.
Glad I wasn't on the call...
Mook, I'm with you: trying not to think about how hot and dry everything is, not only in my neck of the woods, but all across most of our Country.
Larry, so sorry to hear about the three who perished in the accident earlier. My sympathies to all concerned.
Decided not to go for a walk this morning: ended up not feeling too good in the ole tum-tum, so just stayed home this morning. Maybe I'll try again in the morning, then make a trip to the library, for myself this time. Walt went the other day, and got books, so I'll go and see what I can find for my own reading pleasure: getting a little tired of working my seek and find puzzle books.
For the rest of the day, here is our menu:
1. Italian spaghetti w/meatballs, garden salad, Caesar salad, and your choice of Italian bread, garlic bread or garlic Texas toast.
2. If you're really hot, and don't want too much to eat, how about a BLT sandwich w/garden salad
Everyone enjoy your afternoon, take care, keep as cool as possible, and see you all later.
Weather much improved today - still no rain, but much cooler and less humidity.
The accident mentioned earlier involved at least a semi, an SUV, a DOT truck, and a car, and occured in a construction zone where paving was taking place. One of the vehicles caught fire. Reports now of three that perished.
Back to work.
.....Still working in the home office here this morning and now about ready to go {post office first}, then to lunch.
And.....Would you believe, a bit of rain this morning....First 10 min. rather hard, then just soft rain the rest of the morning. But that knocks down temps., but raises humidity. But we'll accept it happily, as we are parched here.
well mother nature has sent us some rain today.going to be a chore day.Cw thanks for lunch.Tommorow we wait for the whistle.
Not going to think about the weather today.
However,, I did see something interesting. We have central air and ceiling fans. And a floor fan that cools the bathroom.
Noticed that if you put toothpaste on your toothbrush and then set it down for about 5 min before you brush your teeth - the toothpaste will "drool" off the brush and into/onto the sink.
But since I am not going to think about weather, I will just call this a good magic trick!
No rain in our forecast just now, either. And we can definitely use it. The drought spreads. Even the whitewater rafting people are concerned.
Bad accident unfolding in the north of our county - two helicopters requested and a responding officer reporting "we're gonna be here a while."
Lots of projects. Working on replacing the small roof over the side entrance door. The old one is down, now comes the fun part - putting the new one up.
Another HOT Thursday Railfans...
Temperatures pushed up to near record breaking levels with a forecast of HOTTER yet and little to no rain in sight...

Good Morning
Gonna be a rather dull day for us'uns. Supposed to get rain today and tomorrow..we'll see about that..may end up with nothing but dull here....
Going to get some walks in this week..seems a little less stick and gum for us so it will make my walks a little more enjoyable...
Have a good day peoples!!
Good Thursday morning all. 74 degrees here in Louisville this morning, going for a high in the mid 90s, with a fairly good chance of seeing some more rain later, possibly some this morning, and in-the-heat-of-the day storms this afternoon. The heat index for later today will be in the 101 to 108 degree range.
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go. Breakfast is on the breakfast bar: bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy, scrambled eggs; or, you can have pancakes & pure maple syrup w/scrambled eggs; there's also cantaloupe and watermelon, kiwi and papaya.
Think I'm going to try to get a walk in this morning. It'll be the first walk in just over a week, because it has just been too hot and muggy in the mornings to try to get out.
Everyone take care, have a good morning, and see you all later.
Well, I was awoken from a nap around 4:58 p.m., hearing thunder! Imagine my surprise: I thought I had dreamed about hearing thunder. We did get a little bit of rain here in our neighborhood. But eastern and southern parts of the county have had heavy rain, thunder, lightning ( there's been a few reports of lightning strikes, especially around the I-264, Taylorsville Rd. area in eastern Jeff. Co.) Nothing like that right around here.
For supper tonight, plenty of leftovers from the last several days, that I've heated up and put out on the warmer bar: including some pizzas from Saturday.
Visit to hospital this morning went well. My GP should get a faxed report Friday, and one day next week, I'll get a letter in the mail. But according to the tech, everything was looking real good, so I'm not worried: haven't been experiencing any problems, haven't felt even the tiniest of lumps.
Everyone enjoy your evening, take care and see you all tomorrow.
We saw absolutely nothing in terms of rain, outside of the 6mm of rain that showed up a few days ago...so...for May, June and most of July our total amounted to tada!!..12mm of rain.....
we had puddles in our driveway this morning!! thunderstorms are around us but it is not raining right now.have errands and chores to do.Cw thanks for supper for work tonight.Matt and I are getting ready for the 765 to run across from New Haven Indiana to Bellevue Ohio on Friday.
I took that video on September 4, 2006 when C&S #9 was still operational and being overly used on the Georgetown Loop...
Great little video! When was this taken? As of this week the Loop's "new" Number 9 is a former Westside Lumber Shay. You were there for the now lost to operations true C&S #9.
