So...maybe after the event I'll be going to my favorite park and watch some trains....out in the sunshine......

Thanks Joe....that helps to explain why some were saying there were two engines....Sure wish I would have known they were coming this way. If You happen to learn of any more runs this way Joe, please let us know right here, will be fine.
I have seen her many times, but will try for more.....
Just checked a few minutes ago and we still have 95 degrees here....Humidity is not as bad as last week...but that is still rather warm.
Quentin
88 degrees here in Louisville, rain is on its way up, should be here in the next hour or two. Looking for a low of 70 degrees in the morning, with a high tomorrow of only 80 degrees. Going to be nice, even with the periods of heavy rain scheduled for tomorrow into Saturday.
Darren, I like that picture of the marmot. Very good!!
For supper tonight: Going to be an easy one, as I ended up taking an almost 3 hour nap (guess I was more tired than I thought!):
1. Sloppy joes w/fries and garden salad
2. Hamburgers/Cheeseburgers w/fries and salad (lots of lettuce, cheese, sliced tomatoes, etc., to go on the burgers)
Dessert:
1. Apple dumplings
2. Strawberry-rhubarb pie
3. Wet-bottomed Shoofly pie
4. apple cobbler w/or w/o ice cream
Hope everyone has enjoyed their day, and am hoping that you all have a good evening. Take care, keep safe and see you all tomorrow.

It's +81f this morning in Hope. Supposed to be to get to +87f . And storms this afternoon. Had to go down to Shreveport yesterday. Exhausting in the heat.
After the appointment checked out a hobby shop. Decent size shop for the area. My wife found a bookstore to.
Up late this morning. Cereal and milk for breakfast.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Nice picture
Thx Ian
Darren , is Mr. marmot enjoying the view from Grand Mesa ?? What a great to see what is going on.

Good Thursday morning all. 75 degrees, now, going for a high this afternoon of 85, 86 degrees. We won't even think about the humidity, as this rain coming in (its in the western/southern part of KY now, heading up in our direction.
Barry (blownout cylinder), I'll be having an IV stuck in me come Monday morning: have to go in for my 5 yr. colonoscopy. Which reminds me, need to call and schedule my ride in a few minutes.
Barry and Quentin, gonna have to check out the website, and see if the steam engine is going to be making its way thru here: we may have to go back over to the NS tracks we used to walk to over on Virginia Ave.
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go. Breakfast of bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy are on the breakfast bar, along with some cantaloupe, watermelon, grapes, plums, kiwi and papaya.
Everyone take care, have a good morning and see you all this afternoon.
Good Morning
We are currently sitting at 55F going for a high of 86F in the sun...of course the humidity will make it feel like it is 94F out here...
Got some IV things to do today then it is off until 2 weeks from now to see how the treatments took....
So, after the treatments I am going to my FLHS to see about picking up some more paint and such....
Quentin: I would imagine that there should be a lot of excursions this summer around there...wish I could see something like that around here....
Modelcar And still dry as sand here, 91 plus today, but humidity much lower.
And still dry as sand here, 91 plus today, but humidity much lower.
Hot, hot, hot here in the Stampede City.
We may be better at doing 35 below than you folks, but when it gets up into the eighties here, everything starts going wrong. And that is something like 15° cooler than what you are/were dealing with. It is only 77° now.
Yesterday afternoon there were rolling 30 minute power blackouts because our power system couldn't handle the load from all of the air conditioners. And a pole mounted power transformer exploded and caught fire on the south side of the city. Down at Stampede Park, a cable car ride across the park conked out due to an as a yet unexplained power malfunction unrelated to the rolling blackouts. They have brought in 25 trailer mounted diesel generators to deal with any other power emergency that may come up on the grounds. They won't know what caused the ride to fail until after the show ends, and the people leave, so they can dig up the ground and look at the buried cables.
Now today there was some sort of malfunction of the fire suppression system in a high rise building power room, that caused all kinds of trouble. It knocked out internet service, including internet phone service, all through downtown. The City's 311 system, the downtown portion of the 911 system, and 3 radio stations were put out of commission. If any of you were waiting to hear from anyone with a shaw.ca e-mail address, that is what is up.
I didn't sleep well because of the heat last night, and tonight isn't looking to be any cooler.
That is enough typing for now.

blownout cylinder.........Thank you very much for sharing that schedule. I knew 765 was to do quite a bit of work / traveling sometime this Summer.
I'll wager that just might have had something to do with it today.
Perhaps they will have to pass thru here to get to some of those places....Now I can try to build on the info you provided....
Ft. Wayne, where it is based, etc.....is just straight north of us here and it's very possible it was run thru here today. I'll certainly try to find out more tomorrow. I'll post what I might find.
And thanks again for that data you supplied.
Quentin: Is there a steamshow going on anywhere near there?
Scratch the above...found this....http://fortwaynerailroad.org/news/
On July 20th, steam locomotive no. 765 embarks on one of its busiest excursion season in recent history. July through September will see the 765 operating special passenger trains for Norfolk Southern’s 30th anniversary, hosting employees and their families across the northern routes of its system.
.....And now another person told me of two Steam engines passing thru here today...I cannot confirm any of it....
Is there someone up along the line {N S}, towards Ft. Wayne that might have witnessed what was passing....??
Blown Out Cylinder.
All the best. Personally I hate needles.
Down in Shreveport today. Hot but not excessively. Up to +84 with lots of humidity.
Back at the house now back in the A/C.
Need to put up my laptop for dinner.
.....And, blownout cylinder....Sure hope those powerful treatments are helping you.
Promise of some rain activity over our coming weekend.....
Good Evening...
Got everything done that needed done..tomorrow will be heading back into the hospital to get the IV and ever't'in' else stuck in me for another session.....
We actually only got to 82F feeling like 86F today..nice and mild....
....I had a phone call about an hour ago and asking me if I knew anything of a steam engine..{train ?}, passing thru Muncie today....Twice.
And I had to answer no. But someplace a month or so ago I read where 765 would be visiting several cities sometime this Summer. And Muncie was one of them....but I have heard absolutely nothing since. Was that in Trains mag.....? I can't remember.
The person who called would have heard it on the N S, New Castle line thru Muncie. Anyone on here have any info...?
Back in the 80's, 765 did make regular Summer visits to Muncie. Others too....1218....759 {believe I'm correct on that}....611...that one I'm sure of.....And back then, I remember of two being here on the same train....611 and one I can't remember it's ID.

Then, after getting home and putting all the groceries away, went for my walk. Been home for a little over an hour.

It's 63F and Clear right now and heading to the low 90's. This morning news is reporting two new fires breaking out in Western Colorado now but so far they sound small and under control. The two major fires that destroyed so many homes are both now 100% controlled thanks to the heroic efforts by the Fire Fighters and Mother Nature tossing in some rain finally

Good Wednesday morning all. We have a temp of 73 degrees this morning, going for a high somewhere between 90 and 92 this afternoon.
Barry, hope today will be a better day for you. Maybe you can get in a trip to your favorite RR viewing park?
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go. Breakfast is on the breakfast bar.
Going to be going to the grocery after a bit (need to wait until 9, so I can call the Pharmacy, so my meds will be ready for me), and pick up a few things, like cat food, snack food, coffee, and some more meats to have here at home.
Everyone have a good morning, take care and see you all this afternoon.
Good Morning Y'all...
It be nice and cool this morning...55F going up to 82F later on with a so-called heat index of 88F...
Got some things to do later on this morning...have a good one...
Quentin: Up here the humidity was at 19% which is really dry for here..
Darren, that's a nice photo of the old steamer. At least it's protected from the elements.
With all the work...{blownout cylinder}, hope the tractor came out in working condition.
Here, we're supposed to be having "cooler" temps this week, and we are...but this evening as I went outside to sit a bit, and do some reading in my Trains mag....And then decided to clean the windows, etc., on my Xtreme truck...I found it was really not as "cool" as I thought it was.
I checked, and the instrument indicate it was still 90 degrees, but did notice earlier on TV in Indy, the humidity was just 27...That's unusual too.
Good Evening
Spent a fair bit of time waiting at the vampire's this morning to get the bloodwork done. Oh, and remember the fine idea f mine to go to my favorite RR side park? Weellll..then ended up getting a phone call from neighbour about needing some help with an ill tractor so that blew most of the day for me...tractor, fine...me, not so fine....
We actually had a hot but dry day today...got to 86F with no humidity...tonight's low will be ....55F....

Our day has been absolutely gorgeous: plenty of sunshine and a very nice breeze, has kept it from feeling too bad outside. Hope you all have had a great day, take care, have a good evening and see you all tomorrow. Not sure yet if I'll be watching the All Star Baseball game tonight, as we may be watching a movie.
JoeKohHere locally a guy found some rare baseball cards in an attic.
Reminds me of the old saw - "I used to be a millionaire, but then my mother threw my baseball cards away."
Apparently mom didn't throw this guy's cards away...
Nice day, although I had a funeral to attend. Then, while watching a contractor check out the septic system at our banquet hall, we noticed that the clouds above us were definitely rotating. Nothing came of it, although I did tip off NWS.
One more meeting tonight.
Later!
