I saw a blue caboose yesterday, in the weeds on a disused siding.

.....A very nice "Spring" day...Mild temps....sunshine, robins....and some grass starting to grow.

Church & Red Lobster runs finished...Next, go check Nascar...I'll probably nap thru some of it.  Seeing convertibles now with the tops down.  Guess I did that back when one didn't use as much common sense.

Than have another Pacer ball game this evening....Lost a heart breaker to Miami last night...It could have gone either way at the end.  Close game all thru it, and we led more than they did.  But as it turned out....they were able to get some shots at the very end and erase our 5 point lead with just a very short time to go.

Good afternoon everyone.  Hope you all remembered to set your clocks forward last night, and replace batteries in your smoke detectors.  According to our indoor/outdoor thermometer, we have a current temp of 71.6 degrees outside!!  Absolutely gorgeous outside, with just a very light breeze.

For our Sunday Dinner, here is our menu:

1.  Grilled steaks w/baked taters, corn on the cob, salad, baked beans, grilled shrimp, hot dogs, burgers, cheeseburgers, brats, tater salad, Watergate salad, fruit salad

2. Italian spaghetti w/salad, and your choice of Italian style vegetables, along with your choice of garlic bread, garlic Texas toast, or toasted Italian bread

Hope everyone is enjoying your Sunday afternoon.  Take care, keep safe & sound, and see you all later.

OK, who's idea was it to not only add an extra work day into the schedule last month and now subtracts an hour out of my weekend!!!  Just back inside from Spring Cleanup work with a 3-day forecast of 70+ days coming.  Hope all my Trains friends have had a great (even though shorten) weekend!

......Well, it certainly has been a nice "Spring" day...Temps in mid 60's.

Had a couple of Chevy's up front at the checkered flag on the Las Vegas Nascar track this afternoon, so that was  ok with me....

But....Now our Pacer's are fighting up against the Orlando Magic, and that is not easy.  In fact, the Magic has done very well the first half, but in the closing 2nd qtr., we've at least made it possible to get back in the game.  So we'll see what happens the second half.  No question, the Magic team is a difficult one to overcome.  Howard is almost unstopable.  Not too good at the foul line though....

Happy MONDAY Railfans!

Got into work today and the major client I'm supporting is having major network issues so it's a bit hard to get things done when you can't connect to their network.  Oh well, keep trying...

Good Monday morning everyone.  Woke up this morning to very light rain.  Seems to be over:  hope so, anyway.  Looking for a high of 69, 70 degrees later this afternoon, if the sun decides to shine.

For this afternoon/evening, here is our menu:

1.  Leftover Italian spaghetti w/the sides from yesterday

2.  Fried chicken w/mashed taters, gravy, homemade buttermilk biscuits, green beans, corn and homemade applesauce

Desserts:  Chocolate cake w/white icing, yellow cake w/chocolate icing and peach cobbler and blackberry pie.

Hope everyone has a good afternoon.  You all take care, keep safe, and see you later.

Good morning and peace be with you. 58 and cloudy in Carolina with a guess of 75 and light rain later.

Old news now, but the Lt Gov did in fact resign, pled guilty and got 5 years suspended, $5000 fine and 300 hours of community service. His brother threatened to assault a news crew asking for a comment, very bellicose and profane. Methinks we are better off now.

Paula, good to see you and Walt back. I guess you should invest in a good antivirus program and be spared future problems and cost.

I have been watching metal detecting on You Tube. It amazing how much loot those guys dig out of the ground. I have a detector and tried back when I was able and never found the first coin! Disgusting!

Today is quack day to get my leg worked on some more. Maybe we can hit a good beanery on the way home.

Everyone take care and have a great day

Tom

Hello from Louisville, KY.  We are now back on our desktop.  Still have quite a few programs that we have to re-download, but at least we have our computer back.

Joe and et al, I have warmed up leftovers from yesterday, and yes, Joe, there are brats on the menu for this afternoon/evening.

Tom, we've had antivirus programs.  That's when we seem to get the viruses on the puter.  Walt says he's extremely thankful that he had the external hard drive, since he had moved several documents, pictures to it.

Everyone have a good evening, take care and see you all in the morning.

....What a beautiful day here.....Low 70's for temp. and blue sky all day.

Good sign today:  Our lawn folks were here and fertlized the lawn....Now that is certainly a good sign we're heading in the right {warm}, direction.

And....this run of 70's to continue for 4 or 5 days as forecast now.  Windows are open...{That is the two I have the external extra windows removed...and screens back in.  Still have thermopane units if the cold returns....But, the weather people I continue to watch late at night, keep saying, they see no different weather pattern on the way....

Good Wednesday morning everyone.  Haven't been up very long, so I don't know what our current temp is, other than that it is a bit cool outside.  From what I heard on the news/weather last evening, supposed to get up to about 80 degrees today.

Coffee is on, and juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  On the warmer bar this morning:  bacon, eggs, toast, or you can have oatmeal, or made from scratch buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy.

Sure is nice having the desktop back.  We still have to re-download our printer, and a couple other things, but basically, we're back up and running.  Everyone have a very good day, and see you all later.

Nice clear night, and not too cold.  Jupiter and Venus are prominent in the evening sky - wish I had a decent telescope!  I've seen the "Galilean" moons before - it's pretty need that you can almost see them move.

Our fire commissioners decided to let us put our planned brush/squad truck out to bid tonight.  Maybe we'll see it by the end of the summer.  Woo Hoo!

Almost time to head for bed.

Good Thursday morning everyone.  Had a thunderstorm roll in around 11 p.m. last night; some lightning and a little bit of thunder.  Have some rain northwest of us, in Indiana, but we haven't had anything this morning, to the best of my knowledge.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Breakfast is on the warmer bar.

Should make it up to the upper 70s today; yesterday, we made to 82 degrees, and when I went down after 11 p.m., last night, our temp was still in the upper 60s, low 70s.  Hopefully, we'll see some sun sometime this afternoon, after some hit and miss rain showers, according to the weather report.this morning.

Everyone have a good day, enjoy, and see you all later.

It has been around or above 80 all week.  Been out trying to soak up as much sunshine and low humidity as I can - storing it for those coming high humidity sunny days to come when I will be inside trying to keep cool.

Changed wardrobe for overnite and turned on ceiling fan.

Will probably be back in fur nighty and muff in April.

Lunch with a friend yesterday.  She was best man at our wedding almost 23 years ago.  You know the saying - "Best man for a job may be a woman!".  Worked for us.

Been watching the nesting boxes on Netherland webcam.  Kestrel Dad flies into the box with a "gift" of a mouse for Mom Kestrel.  He was holding them in his beak but she flies in @ super speed and grabs the mouse and then makes a u-turn and flies out of the box.  I am thinking he may have lost part of a beak since lately he has been holding them in a claw for her to grab.

Now thinking he may be 2-toes.

BNSF was running over themselves yesterday around 4 pm.  Driver quipped that it must be close to shift change and they wanted the yard tidied up.  Had 4 of the 6 tracks busy for awhile.

Warren was pleased!

Good Morning Railfans!

It's another bright and sunny day; currently 36F but will be heading up towards to 70's by the afternoon.  Went to Village Inn last night for dinner and had our Free Pie.  Enjoy the day everyone!

All of 39 this morning, but I woke to thunder as a line of minor storms came down out of Canada.

Haven't been watching the Netherlands cams much lately.  Maybe I should!

Gotta head to town, soon, too.
