blue streak 1

well i am finally back to where I can post.   Knee surgery went well and rehab as well. Had a couple posts then an unrelated gall bladder failure almost took me out. ( If hadn't been i hospital  ???? ) I did  see that light at the end of the tunnel but decided  I woud go back into the tunnel.  2-1/2 weeks later am finally on the mend.

blue streak 1

That was a bit scary of what you related on your recent post.  We'll send along our best wishes for a complete recovery and now having a new knee to use as well.

Monday morning showed we received a very slight dusting {skiff}, of snow overnight.  Temps about 30 earlier.  Snow has disappeared already.

On and off sunshine this morning.  This will be a cool day with a high in the 30's.  But tomorrow, is to be a big warmup.

Trivia:  Upon turning to page 84 in our April Trains mag., and looking at the top of the page....and seeing the photo of an "inspection locomotive".....I couldn't help but {right away}, think..."that's the Toonerville Trolley".....Did anyone else notice the very similarity.....

That's the closest {real piece of equipment}, I've ever seen to so closely be a look a like.  All it needs is a trolley wire and pole....

This goes back a ways.....so younger posters probably have no idea what I'm referring to.

.....A cool morning here in central Indiana.  But, today...we're to be somewhat warmer.  Noted a weather person on the TV channel this morning noting, this might be the last really cool / cold weather we see in the eastern part of the country until next Fall.

Seems {according to them}, that is the weather pattern on the way.

Seems a bit strange, but that's what they were saying.

Sunshine shining bright here this morning, right in my eastern office window here...

Both Jean and I have appointments at our dentist this morning....so in about an hour we head in that direction....Just 5 min. away.

Robins have been in our area now for about 2 weeks.

If this continues....I will be mowing lawn yet this month.

March can throw all kinds of weather at us....the transition month, but based on Winter's performance so far, perhaps "mild" is the right {hopeful}, word.

Trivia:  About a week or 10 days ago I saw or heard on a program, gas prices would hit 4 dollars a gal by Memorial Day....What a joke...!

Gas prices are now 4 dollars for un. reg. and 4.20 pre.  I have one vehicle for each price range.

Speculators, and who else, will be raking it in from us once again.

Guess I better stop for now.....Just my My 2 Cents

Good Morning Railfans!

Well, it should get up near 70F today and then 35F with snow on Wednesday; good old Colorado weather!  Have not had a chance to read all the posts here in the diner over the last few days but I hope all that had family in harms way of the nasty storms are all OK.

Afternoon all!

What a beautiful day here in the heartland of America! I'm sure the train crew have the doors and windows open in the cab today! Currently 60* and sunny here.

Looks like the next thing were doing in English 10 is a report. I'm doing to do my report on Norfolk & Westerns' Class J #611.Hope I can find some good information. Do any of you all know where I may be able to find some good stuff?

Have a good day all!

Cannoball, I remember the Toonerville Trolley and Smoky Stover as well; as a matter of fact, there's a small park in Louisville dedicated to the Toonerville Trolley and TARC's trolleys (rubber tired) are oft called Toonerville Trolleys.

Justin, if you haven't, check out the web site for the Virginia Museum of Transportation that's in Roanoke, and the N & W Historical Society for more info on 611.

Well, I don't know about words of wisdom.  But I will say this has been a gorgeous day here in Louisville!  We got up to 70 degrees this afternoon.  Beautiful sunshine, and a nice, warm breeze.  Took a walk this afternoon, for about 2 and 1/2 hours.

Produce went well this morning, although it was pretty darn chilly, at 8 a.m.!  Think it got down to 28 degrees this morning.

Our Tuesday Mexican Fiesta is now on the warmer bar.  Anything and everything Mexican, you'll find on the bar tonight.

I sure will be glad when we get out desktop back.  I don't mind using Sarah's laptop, but it isn't accessible to me first thing in the morning.  Everyone have a good evening, take care, and see you sometime tomorrow.

Darren, really nice picture!!  I really enjoy seeing the pictures you post each day.  Thank you so much for sharing with all of us.

Just heard on our local news that our winds are running 35 to 40 pmh.  Current temp is 70 degrees.  Normal temp for this time of year is 44.  The rain will come in by 4, 5 a.m. in the morning, definitely by 8 a.m. here in Louisville.  Could get up to 2 inches of rain tomorrow, with our high in the morning, then slowly dropping.

Got supper laid out on the warmer bar:

1.  Sub sandwiches:  turkey, roast beef, ham & cheese, Italian sausage, etc., with your choice of chips or fried potato wedges and salad

2.  Fried rice:  beef, pork, shrimp, chicken or special, which is a combination of all of the above; or you can have sweet & sour pork, or chow mein or lo mein

Everyone take care, have a good evening, and I'll see you, probably about this time tomorrow, as I go back to the cardiovascular doctor tomorrow for another test.  Hope this one will show the doctor exactly what is going on.

Good morning and peace be with you. 61 and light rain in Carolina expected to top out at 63 with more rain.

Our Lt Governor is expected to resign soon due getting caught spending campaign funds for his personal use, some 60+ counts in all. These guys amaze me, and they think they can get away with it!

The chairman of the SC Hospitality Assoc recently shot himself, and now they find nearly 5 million dollars missing. Actually, he is not a suspect, but a former employee is on the hook. Apparently, he couldn't stand the disgrace of having it happen on his watch. Sad.

Everyone have a safe day.

Over 50F here yesterday, new snow on the ground this morning (but not much).  Changed over in about two hours last night - I drove to a meeting in a downpour and drove home in snow flurries...

Spending the weekend in class so I can learn how to use a software package we've had at the FD for over a year now...

Time to check the mail.

TGIF Railfans!

It's 29F and Sunny in the Mile High city with highs in the 60's for the weekend and 70 by Monday.  Got some of the mud and dust off the 4x4 yesterday from travels to a friends house in the rural east side of town where the streets are still dirt roads.  Have a great Day and Weekend!

....Boy what a variety of incidents on earlier posts.  We have all kinds of happenings going on in our world.

I consider it a nice day here.  Sunny, a bit of a breeze, and 40 degrees.  Grass is greening....Spring is fast approaching.

Hope a friend and his son get with it and rent the powered roller to do our yards soon, as they do each year.  They get the roller {rented}, and his son has a trailer to move it on, and I share the cost of doing it all.

Good Friday afternoon all.  Finally got to make it back in here.  Found out earlier that our desktop won't be ready until Monday.  Dr. appointment yesterday went okay, but I won't know anything until the 28th, after my doctor gets back from his vacation.

Our Friday Fish Fry is now on the warmer bar. All the regular list of kinds of fish, all the side dishes and desserts.

Our high today made it to 55 degrees.  But tonight, going down to about 29 tonight/in the morning.  Another piece of good news:  UK beat LSU!! Everyone have a good afternoon/evening, and I'll try to get back in sometime tomorrow.
