Changing the menu for today, a little bit.  I've combined a little bit of our Mexican Fiesta, with a little bit of our Chinese menu:

1.  Taco salad

2.  Tacos (soft shell or hard shell)

3.  Sweet & sour pork

4.  Pepper steak w/onion

5.  Chicken w/broccoli

6.  Beef w/broccoli

Would have been back in earlier, but was fighting a sinus headache.  So went back to bed for awhile, until it disappeared.  Feeling much better now.

Everyone have a good afternoon, take care and see you all later.

......Yes, Paula...we survived the birthday very well.  And enjoyed the Spring like weather here in February.  So unusual this season.

Again, thanks to many for their best wishes for us going forward.

We do enjoy participating in this forum, and try to be a good steward of what we project and do and say on here.  And it's been { surprising, to me}, 10 years on here now...!

We will not have your 70 degree weather here in Muncie today, but it's bright overcast, and will be plenty "warm", for this time of the year.

Possible bits of showers  north of I-70 perhaps today in Indiana.

(9:40pm}, now....and we've had a dry day....Good amount of sunshine.  Did get up to around 57 or so.  Just fine for this time of the year.

Good Wednesday morning everyone.  46 degrees here in Louisville this morning, going for a high in the upper 60s, maybe 70 degrees this afternoon.   Quentin, hope you thoroughly enjoyed your birthday yesterday.

After Produce yesterday, did some housework, and then had to go out and do some errands.  So I didn't make it back in here.  They didn't bring a whole lot for us yesterday:  just some potatoes, romaine lettuce salad mix, and tomatoes.

Coffee is ready, along with fresh juices and other morning beverages.  Breakfast is on the warmer bar.

Everyone have a good morning, take care, and see you all later.

Happy day Quentin - and many more.

Meanwhile, we hear the new freshman class at Weatherliar U is going to make life around here miserable toward the end of the weekend. (They just tried the light snow + wind = ground blizzard experiment)...Thursday must be "Fun with Thermals" Day (70 degrees to snow overnight)

Been trying to move equipment into the new replacement truck since Lurch was retired over a month ago. Still lotsa clutter in the garage. Think I need an 8 or 9 day week to get stuff moved to the DONE list.

Let me add my good wishes for a happy birthday, as well as a wish that you enjoy many more!

Time to go hoe out the back of the truck.  It tends to get disorganized from time to time, especially if I'm in the middle of a project.

Temps in the 30's today, with a possibility of rain or snow tonight.

.....Wow, we're into another decade of figures....actually with a "1" attached to it...!  Where did the time go....

Cannonball..........If I just had my '57 Vette back and it was in good shape, perhaps that would do it.

And we say thank you to all who have offered their good wishes....We're still here and kicking and soon going to seek lunch.  Again, I believe it will be Ruby Tuesday's....Kinda got me "hooked" on their rainbow trout....hummm great..!

Chocolate, Jen......?????  We'll make that the good old fashion plain chocolate ice cream....That's the best...!

Our blessings back to all....

Thank you, Joe.  Tomorrow would have been her 55th birthday.  But she'll be celebrating it in heaven, now.

Menu for tonight:

Hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs with all the fixings (tomatoes, onion, pickles, relish, lettuce).  Dessert tonight:  No bake chocolate oatmeal cookies (some people call it Wheat Fudge), Oatmeal-raisin cookies, chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cookies, butterscotch cookies, and the following cobblers:  apple, cherry, peach and strawberry/rhubarb, with whatever flavor ice cream you want.

Hope everyone has enjoyed the sunshine today, believe our current temp is in the mid 50s, with plenty of sunshine.  If you're in the sunshine, you stay warm:  if you're in the shade, it is a bit chilly.  But otherwise, a very nice afternoon.

Have a good evening, take care, and I'll see you all in the morning.

Sunny and cold here.  At least a snowshoe event a little south of here got enough snow to have their races over the weekend.

The training event we held Sunday was successful - 50 firefighters attended, and according to the critiques most found it worthwhile.

With the holiday today, not much to do, so it's wind-down time.

Good Monday morning everyone.  I finally got home last night, just before 7 p.m.  Was really tired:  seems like, from my memories, that sitting/standing/waking around a funeral home does that to a person.  But at least I got to see some of my cousins, whom I haven't seen for about 24 years.  One of my cousins is now living in Winconson, but the rest of his siblings are still in the Elizabethtown/Glendale area of Hardin County, KY.  Did find out the deceased's mother (my 1st cousin), that her husband came in from work, about 6:30 a.m., saw all the lights on, and TV on.  Found her face down across the bed.  They won't know the results for bit, but they think she may have had a heart attack.  One of my other cousins, her aunt, said that she just grieved herself to death, because her middle son had died awhile back, either 3 weeks or months ago.  Grief can surely do a number on us.

Oh well, enough sadness for today.  We got down into the low to mid 20s overnight, supposed to make it up to 50 degrees this afternoon.  Sunshine is beginning to appear.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  And breakfast is on the warmer bar.  Everyone have a good morning, and see you all later this afternoon.

If Nigel, as a TV engineer,  finds anything worth watching for Doogie, the customer, let me know.

However, hopefully da boyz found the remote during the Westminister Dog Show - some fine looking ladies and gents!

LaughLaughLaughFor Mookie that remembers Gus as a truck driver. We now know a little more about Nigel.......

BossHen came home late from a volunteer meeting, about 11PM. I had already crashed on the bed watching the TV. The dogs came up to join me. When BossHen got home about 11PM, she discovered Nigel sitting on the remote, oblivious to the fact he was flipping channels randomly and periodically picking animal shows that would cause Doogie to "alert".

After a few minutes of this came hysterical laughter that woke me up. I got a detailed explanation of the show the next morning.

Modelcar

I've wondered about the extremely high fuel pressure necessary for using F I....Might that cause a problem under certain crash conditions....??  Guess we'll find out.

My guess is that it won't make much of a difference.  Gasoline doesn't compress much, so the volumes released wouldn't be much different than with a carburetor.

Temp is currently 59F, partly cloudy with a bit of sprinkling this morning. Will be doing yardwork the rest of the morning and early afternoon with church in the late afternoon.

.....Our Sunday morning is a cool one.  25 degrees when I first looked.  Sunshine, and probably will be dry all day...and warmer.

Church at 11, then back home to regroup...and then, probably to Texas Roadhouse for our Sunday meal.

Terrible nasty wrecks in the Nascar "shootout" race at Daytona  last night.  Believe everyone came out ok.  Extreme safety construction in the Sprint cars now really have extended the safety envelope when these extreme accidents happen.

Jeff Gordon slid 800 to 1000' on the drivers side door last night, and appears he emerged with out even a scratch.  Restrictor plate racing bunches the cars too much....and it's just a matter of "when"....not..."If", when the big one happens.

One big change in the cars now beyond the new safety factors is the replacement of the carb. with fuel injection.  Been wondering when that would happen.  It was announced last year it was being put to use this season.  Seemed like there has not been any major problems with it, that I've seen reported.

I've wondered about the extremely high fuel pressure necessary for using F I....Might that cause a problem under certain crash conditions....??  Guess we'll find out.

Ahhh, a little bit of popcorn, and drinking the hot chocolate, sure did put me out like a light last night.  Slept until 4 a.m. this morning.  Going to be a busy, busy day for me:  Church this morning, then have to go to the funeral home this afternoon.  One of my 2nd cousins passed away; she was only 53, or 54 years young.  Not sure what happened to her, maybe I'll hear something this afternoon.

It looks like the snow that was to becoming our way, is going to bypass us and stay to the south and east of the Louisville area.  Current temp is about 34 degrees, and I haven't heard what our high is supposed to be for today.

Coffee, juices, hot chocolate and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go, including hot cider and hot water for hot tea.  Breakfast is on the warmer bar.

And for Sunday Dinner, in a Crock Pots and a slow cookers, you'll find Pork Chop Abracadbra and Beef stew, with assorted vegetables in the oven.

If I get a chance, maybe I can make it back in this evening some time; everyone have a good day, take care, and see you, either later tonight, or tomorrow.

....The sunshine was nice here today too for about half of the day, then the clouds kind of filled in.  But our wind was expressing itself, and even with mod temps...and sunshine, was not very comfortable.  But dry all day.

There is snow passing towards the east and just under my home State of Pennsylvania.  Looks like we missed all of that moisture.

Flower stems sticking out of the ground.  Not good.

Popcorn and hot chocolate do sound good.

Been busy getting ready for some training we're hosting at the FD.  This particular item is an annual requirement, but it's tough to get it all in, especially since it's eight hours on various specific topics.  So we're making an event of it - various speakers, lunch, maybe even a few door prizes.  We've got upwards of seventy folks coming, which is unheard of for the fire service in this area.

I'll be glad when it's over - then I can get started on next year's program...

Went out for my dose of fresh air and vitamin D.  Not terribly warm, but in the sun, it was wonderful.

Saw some freight today and they had two old Norfolk and Western boxcars - strangers in this part of the country.  Love freight - never know what you will see.  Also two BNSF - GP 38 and GP50 still running around.

Popcorn and hot chocolate sound good.
